I love love LOVE Dr. Devine. She is so sweet and caring and makes me feel like she actually cares about my baby and our well-being. However, when shes not there (Ive had 2 different doctors for unexpected visits) dr. Fischer was great! Made me feel the same way Devine did and answered all my questions. Which was fantastic because I had been bleeding at somewhere around 10/13 weeks (dont remember ) and she as very helpful. Unfortunately the last 2 times I went in I had to see dr Sapp and I absolutely do not reccomend her to anyone. The first time I was signed in, was hooked to the monitor (which takes about 30 minutes) and then waited TWO HOURS. You know whatever Im an understanding person, I didnt originally have an appointment but clearly if I waited two hours for you, I expect more than a 5 second visit. I was having extreme lower back pain that would literally stop me in my tracks and I guess because the pain wasnt bothering me as bad when I was finally seen by her, I wasnt as important. She ignored all of my questions. I had gained 3lb in one day (from my last app) I asked her why am I putting on the weight so fast when I literally havent changed my diet and then she proceeds to tell me its probably a change in diet/pasta. And I dont even have pasta with my meals often. And its like everything I said went in one ear and out the other. But what really made me mad is she goes "were looking for grab the wall, cant walk type of pain" Then I have an app with my doctor a week later, didnt really discuss what had happened since I figured maybe she was just having a bad day. Im being induced next week for high bp, and was having bad cramps after my app. So I called the OB nurse (which is one of my favorites too) and she told me to take Tylenol and see if it lightens up. Sure enough after I took Tylenol a huge pulsating headache started. And refused to go away. and the cramps were still there just not as painful so I went ahead and called. Sure enough the doctor I dont like was on call and told me to drink caffeine and if my head still hurt in 30 minutes to come in. And then asked me with an attitude might I add "what baby is this " I got confused for a second because of the way she said it. And she repeated it and I said my first. Needless to say the headache didnt go away. So I went in, I was having contractions every 7-8 minutes which would literally go off the charts. But I guess because they dont hurt, she didnt take it seriously. She never even saw me in the hospital. She sent in another dr to DISCHARGE me, after not even seeing me or checking me out. A dr thats not even from the office and a MALE at that. (I dont want a male dr for anything that has to do with my vagina, just a personal preference) and then he asks if my cervix has even been checked NOPE IT HASNT but I wasnt letting him do it so one of the nurses had to. And then he goes she said the baby looks healthy and I agree. And Im just like no duh hes healthy. Im not here because I think somethings wrong with him. Im here because I think something is wrong with me. What ever happened to the phrase mother knows best? The lack of care for my health or my babys health from her makes me mad to the extreme. And then sending in a doctor who Ive never met just because you dont want to come in? Like Im not playing wolf here lady. Ive called my doctors office 3 times that I havent been scheduled in all of my pregnancy. I dont just randomly call to hear the sound of your voice. And to make me feel like I shouldnt even call when I think something may be wrong just makes me more mad. I should have a welcoming feel from all the doctors there. Especially when my baby is very close to being delivered. Especially when youve seen my file and it says clear as day that I am scheduled to be induced for high bp. And when my doctor tells me that even if I just dont even feel good to come in. The lack of care and respect from that lady is absolutely ridiculous. BUT I have LOVED everyone else Ive seen there.

I saw Dr. Devine for my annual physical at the end of December, and I found my experience to be somewhat different than many of the other reviews here. When I arrived on time for my appointment, I was greeted by a friendly staff and handed a tablet to complete my paperwork. While I was doing so, I noticed the staff interacting with a toddler who was soon to be an older sister making her giggle and smile. After completing my paperwork, I was directed to a waiting area and only waited about 10 minutes before being called back. A nurse took me back to weigh, and discuss a little of my medical history before I was shown to an exam room and only waited for Dr. Devine about 8 minutes. She discussed my history and needs, directed me to undress for the exam, and then was gone for about 15 minutes or so, however, she apologized sincerely for the delay when she returned as something had come up unexpectedly with another patient. I found her bedside manner quite friendly and professional. The only downside was that I thought her exam was a bit perfunctory? quick, she barely examined my breasts compared to my past doctors, and no one ever called to give me the results of my pap smear although I had checked that my personal email, phone, or text were fine to use. Edit- over a year has gone by and Ive received no reminder for my yearly exam, but I did receive a text asking if I wanted to sign up for I do on their cosmetic options. Ive switched to a the highly recommended East Cooper OBGYN. Id rather go to someone who sees me as a patient, not a number.

Wow what a ridiculous experience. I had to wait 6 weeks to get in for my annual exam with Dr. Fisher even though I was an established patient. Not a big deal in itself. So I take the afternoon off work as my appointment was scheduled for 1:00. A week before they call to change my appointment to 11:00 because Dr. Fisher was out of the office for the afternoon. Im guessing that means she probably wanted to take her family boating or something but thats neither here nor there. Im not a doctor so who cares about my time, ya know? I manage to still get out of work in time to make it by 11:00. I waited for 2 hours. Thats right- they brought me in 2 hours early and still didnt even take me by my originally scheduled appointment time. Ive worked in doctors offices and Im very understanding of wait times but to bring someone in 2 hours early and make them wait 2 hours is just absolutely ridiculous. The receptionist was completely unapologetic which Im guessing is because this happens all the time. The annoyed conversations in the packed waiting room seemed to support this idea as well. I cant speak much about the quality of care because I had only seen Dr. Fisher one time for a routine exam (she seemed nice enough). I left the office without being seen and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Megan Pallay at Ashley River Ob/gyn. She was great and respectful of my time. I recommend her if you dont enjoy spending your whole day in a waiting room. However, if you love feeling completely unappreciated, Charleston Ob/gyn is the place for you!
