I wanted to write a review because my life completely changed after I was attacked in my backyard by a neighbor’s dog. He had flung me like I was a little squirrel and I heard things cracking as my neck hit the side of my deck floor that could be visualized like a 2 x 4 being slung against my neck. Thankfully, it changed again when I started Spinal Decompression therapy at The Dr. Gil Center. I know so many people he has helped in the 12 years I have lived in Franklin. I decided to email Dr. Gil and have an x-ray done, which then lead me to a Neurologist who scheduled a MRI. With the Neurologist agreeing, I started the therapy with Dr. Gil Center. After the attack, I felt my body was curling up in the fetal position and the pain had traveled from the left side of my neck down my body and into my right side that eventually ended up in the back bottom part of both of my heels. I could no longer even walk my 90-pound dog around the block. By my 3rd session at Dr. Gil Center, I was feeling relief. I was amazed! Not only was it working, I was not in pain from the treatments and rarely needed to ice. I could not believe that the backache I lived with for 15 yrs. after a double mastectomy was going away also! I was learning something from these Doctors each time I went for a visit. I also remember 25 yrs. ago when other Doctors did not utter the word Chiropractor. I feel many people do not understand how they can help you so that is why I am going into detail in this review. If this helps, another woman after Breast Cancer reconstruction or anyone with chronic pain to rethink the care that they are receiving then that is a reason to write this. Dr. Gil Center is busy all the time, but the reason is that they help people. It works! I progressed quickly and painlessly, got down to doing 2 sessions a week and now once a week. I am returning to Neurologist July 1 as a different woman. No longer in the pain from the attack and waking up with no backache after 15 steady years has been a Godsend. I did not even go there for that! It was a total benefit of Spinal Decompression Therapy. I remember telling someone before I started this that I wish I could go back to my Grandfathers farm and hang upside down on the rafters to relieve the pain. I cannot do that so this has been the next best thing. My insurance does not pay for this but it is not the fault of Dr. Gil. That is not his decision that is the insurance company’s policy. I believe if they did pay for it that it would make everyone’s lives easier and this office would be even busier! The cost was not going to change my mind about this therapy after the constant pain I had. This pain had affected every aspect of my life giving me a bad attitude, especially after all the previous doctors I had gone to seeking help. Know your body. Be well. You only live once, enjoy every minute without prescription meds to mask the pain. Susan Killawee Franklin, TN.

I have waited several months to leave this review to make sure that I was not overreacting to anything and gave the office staff a chance to correct their mistakes. However, it is time to leave a review. This was my first visit to a chiropractors office after years of back. And when it comes to relieving that pain, this place was successful. If that is all you are looking for, then by all means this place will do that. However, after leaving this place and going to another Chiropractors office I noticed some pretty glaring red flags. - Shady billing practices. I went for a total of 8 visits at roughly $45 dollars a visit. When i checked to see if the amounts i paid had been reported to my deductible correctly, not only had only 6 visits been charged to my insurance but they were less than what I paid per visit. When called about this, the office manager stated they were in the process of switching billing clearing houses and she would call me back. (two follow up calls back to the office and i never received a call back). So, im not really sure what to say on this one other then my deductible was not effected the way it should have been. - You dont actually see Dr. Gil. Not that the other Dr.s who work on you are unqualified or anything. But it was only upon going to a smaller practice when i realized you can actually see the same chiropractor every time you go! Which makes a big difference when youre going several times a week. - Incomplete care. I mentioned above that they made the pain go away. Which is true. But upon going elsewhere I was given nutritional information, stretching exercises, and other exercises to do at the time of the adjustment that were additional to just the 5 minute in and out adjustment. Maybe this is all smoke and mirrors and unnecessary, but it certainly seemed to be beneficial. - the office itself is messy. This isnt a huge deal and really doesnt impact care, but piles of boxes and unused medical equipment really dont make for an enticing place. In summary - if you have a serious back condition, i have no doubt that Dr. Gil and co. can help you in that regard, but its the peripheral things that upon reflection really make me glad I ventured elsewhere.

In June of this year I was in SO much pain and didnt know why. After a few trips to my primary care provider and 3 doses of steriods and a misdiagnoses, I was STILL in pain and had so much tingling and numbness in my left arm. I couldnt do anything. Sitting hurt, laying down hurt so sleeping was just as hard and lets not forgot walking. I was at the point where I couldnt tolerate it anymore and was thinking surgrey was going to be my only option. My husband heard Dr. Gil on a radio show one Sunday morning and Immediately told me call Dr. Gil first thing in the morning. I called his office that Monday morning at 0800 and honestly I wasnt expecting to be seen right away, but to my surprise I was in their office that afternoon. I have to say the whole staff is amaxing, loving and friendly. They say hello as soon as you walk in the door no matter what they are doing they recongize you are there. You are called by your first name which to me is very personal and makes you feel like your part of their family. My first visit was amazing as well. I actually spoke to Dr. Gil and he assured me that he would do anything possible to make the pain go away. He brought tears to my eyes, but in a good way. Dr. Gil explained to me about their Decompression Therapy and that he was very confident that would be the best option for me. Within 3 days I was in their office again to discuss what comes next and before I knew it I was on the decompression table. The main thing I loved about Dr. Gil was that he didnt prescribe me a pill and tell me to go home and rest. I was put on a 25 session time table and I am here to say Im ONLY 15 sessions in and I am PAIN FREE and the tingling and numbness is gone as well. I forget all the time I ever had a neck injury. The experience I have had at Dr. Gil Center has been AMAZING and Im here to say if you are in pain due to a spinal injury, PLEASE GO SEE DR. GIL!!! You wont regret it! I promise!
