I had a partial tear of my PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament) on Feb/Mar 2013. I visited two doctors; The first wasnt even able to diagnose the injury and the second did an MRI and with the results in hands strongly advised me to do a surgery with an estimate recovery time of 6-9 months. I really wanted to avoid it and came across Dr. Carter. At our first appointment he did some tests to check the strength of the knee/leg... Although not 100% sure we would achieve success, he was very confident we could get through it without surgery. As he said, within 2-3 sessions I was already playing soccer at almost 100% with some mild discomfort. As the sessions passed by, we worked on minimizing the discomfort and strength of the muscles around the ligament... Within 45-60 days I was already playing at a very good level and with no discomfort. A considerable gain; from 6-9 months to 45-60 days, despite all the trouble that would come along with a surgery. I am about 15 months past my injury and have no need of surgery. I also had a somewhat tight schedule at the time and with some arrangements from both sides, Dr. Carter was able to always get me in. He never refused to work around his own schedule (30min here and there). Unfortunately, I had to move away from Austin or I strongly believe that 1-2 more sessions would have made my recovery even faster. Thanks Dr. Carter. Andre Siqueira

Our daughter was referred to Carter Physiotherapy by a teammate on her Austin Junior Mizuno Volleyball Team. The team was playing at the USA Nationals and Kathryn was unable to play in the last two matches because her patella tendon was hurting so badly. We needed excellent treatment right away because her high school team camp was approaching, then AJV tryouts, then two-a-days for high school volleyball. She didnt have time to rest her knee. Shortly after treatments began on her knee she was able to participate in the high school camp. During the camp, she hurt her thumb (shes a setter) and had AJV tryouts the following weekend. He continued treating her knee and included thumb treatment. Manual therapy certainly is not for the weak of heart because it hurts!!!! However, all the treatments and pain have paid off because she was able to compete in team camp, made the 17 Mizuno team (top team for age group) and is playing now without her thumb even being taped. Even though she has stopped direct treatment, she continues with the exercises. If the need arises, we will definitely seek his treatment again.

Jarod is a phenomenal PT. Over the past few years I have been subject to a series of injuries ranging from muscle strains and aches, to more complex structural and nerve problems in my spine that merit surgery. I have been to several PTs (plus rolfers) in around 4 major cities, and I can honestly say that Jarod is the most talented and knowledgeable therapist I have ever worked with. Unlike other therapists where you are lucky to get 15 minutes of hands on work, Jarods style is dedicated to extensive hands on fascia and soft tissue work for the full hour, plus structured exercise plans to go home with. The result is more customized care that delivers much quicker results than any other PT in town. Jarod combines this high level of care with excellent bedside manner and always explains everything very thoroughly. I strongly recommend Jarod to anyone dealing with any type of musculoskeletal injury!

Over the years, Jarod has successfully treated my girls and my husband. So when I decided to take up running (at the age of 52, crazy, right?), I knew Id have some sort of pain and would probably be seeing Jarod. I was correct and Jarod treated me early into my new hobby and gave me lots of exercises that helped tremendously. I was feeling so great that I had another crazy idea...run my first marathon! I trained over the next 10 months without an issue and then 2 weeks before the marathon I was struck with shin pain that I thought would sideline me. I made a phone call to Jarod who squeezed me in his schedule a couple of times and I was able to run! Jarod is awesome, he was even out cheering us on at about mile 21!!

I can honestly say this was the very best experience Ive had and Im extremely grateful to have found them even though It took me a little convincing as they are out of network, The treatment plan has been cheaper than the in network groups as they are so hands on in a one on one environment, not like those other places that are partially supervised gyms with 5 minutes of professional consultation. They are super accommodating, and within just 1 session I was noticeably better. Im healing so fast now and I blame Jarrod :) Jarrod is someone who really is focused on the best outcome for the patient, I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.

I’m grateful to Jarod for healing in 1 month a shoulder injury that had persisted for 9 months despite multiple efforts at treatment. I appreciated his daily exercises for me, which were demonstrated clearly and moved my progress along speedily. Jarod also worked skillfully on my chronic TMJ issue with great relief. Despite having insurance coverage with a different PT clinic, I was assured by my referring doctor that Jarod could do more for me in 1 month than the clinic could do in 6 months. He was correct. It’s comforting to know that for any future injury I will immediately call Jarod.

Jarod is a true professional in physical rehab and takes time to fully evaluate the holistic picture before manual therapy treatment. He is really about restoring health and preventing injury and gave me some awesome recommendations to address the root of my neck pain, jaw clenching, and tension headaches. Its refreshing to have a practitioner that suggests pain relief techniques that are outside his physical therapy modalities and gave me two great resources for better sleep and reducing stress. I have been to dozens of providers for this same issue over 2.5 years. He is one of the best!

We took our daughter who is a club rower to Jarod for a back injury that several other specialists were unable to help with. Dr. Carters diagnostic skils and hands on manipulation allowed her to row at full speed after months of down time. Dr. Carter also then taught her a series of simple excercises that allow her to maintain her back on her won. The very happy ending is that our daughter just got into a D1 Ivy college and we really feel grateful to Dr. Carter... not sure it would have been possible without him. He is awesome!!!! Jarod was a great find. After taking my athlete son to four other therapists to work on chronic hip pain, we decided to see if Jarod could do any better. On the first day he mentioned that he would know within 2 or 3 sessions if he could help him. On the third session, he recommended we get an MRI as he had a hunch it was a torn labrum that was causing the problem. Sure enough, it was a large tear that needed surgical repair. He is doing great now and sees Jarod occasionally to work out general alignment issues. I would happily recommend him.
