I NEVER WRITE BAD REVIEWS but this place has scarred me for life and people need to know my experience, maybe itll prevent your dog from being hurt too! I DONT" even want to rank it 1 star! Let me explain why! My chihuahua was due for his routine shots & needed to be checked because he has his limp back again. Which I have had him checked 2 years ago with my Vet in Indiana & the vet told me (in IN) it was a torn ligament from jumping onto high objects which he therefore had laser therapy on and it & that did help him but now we live in Texas so i chose this vet facility based on the good reviews. I had no idea what was about to happen to my dog! Now its my first time at Village VET, the technician seemed to be nice & once they took my dog in the back the 1st time when he came out he was not the same! LET ME TELL YOU about my dog, he is the perfect dog as in temperament & personality. I have 2 babies and my daughter (7 months) has pulled on his ears etc &hes never showed any signs of aggression. EVER! So when i saw that he bit, growled & was aggressive towards the technician I was in Sheer shock! What happened back there? MY DOG has been to various vets and never once showed signs of aggression ever! I always get compliments on him. So when she had to take him back to get x rays he was just done, scared beyond anything i have ever seen. I AM a trusting person but my gut feeling told me something otherwise as the appointment proceeded. When the vet checked him he was squeezing so hard on all his little joints and my dog was screaming in pain and I understand to a degree that they have to check but he was squeezing extra hard later on my dogs leg was entirely swollen after the appointment & has continued to be swollen & when I came in there was barely any swelling at all. So DR. WINSTON gave my dog a doggie version of aspirin.. There was nothing that he said like physical therapy ? Laser Therapy ? He didnt know. Nothing. Its like what did I even pay for and why did my dog go through all this pain for aspirin? Anyways we leave the Vets Office and Im in the car and I smell an awful smell, My poor dog pooped in his bag. Let me tell you he has never done that in his 6 years of existence! We travel all over the US with him and hes never done that before, So Im cleaning up water poop and then I put desmo in his little house kennel we have for him and let him relax for a little bit because he looked like he was in so much pain. Now i did not even give my dog the pain meds that the stupid vet prescribed for him yet, I was waiting till the evening to do so. In the meantime I smell another smell and Desmo pooped in his house kennel, he has never done that before either because thats his sacred place. Hes a neat, very clean dog! So im cleaning up the poop off the wood and I notice theres all this blood, everywhere!!!! He has never had blood in his poop, ever! So many firsts in his life today and were all in shock! I called the vet, they didnt even seem concerned! I said what happened to my dog?? When you took the fecal what happened to him? They didnt act concerned they just said if you want you can come in again and Dr. Winston can check him out. I washed desmo and realize when I was washing his bottom his anus was so swollen it was unbelievable! So I take desmo back and the doctor didnt seem concerned he barely checked him, and just said Oh this is normal theres dogs that poop blood all the time when they come to the vet. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? because I have gone to so many vets and this never happens! Oh and I have never heard of this! Maybe it happens at this facility because they hurt the dogs but believe me Ive never heard of stress bleeding and if it happens then that vet office is doing something wrong! He still made me pay for the medicine to stop him from having loose stools. But throughout the night desmo was pooping blood an was in so much pain I cannot even express in words what happened to my dog because of this vet office failed him in the worst way! I WILL NEVER EVER GO HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!

Sandra and Larry Fox We highly recommend the Village Vet. Dr. Winston and Judy are extremely competent, caring, and compassionate people. Over the years we have raised Labradors who like most Labs, didn’t know that they were dogs. They were family members and a major part of our lives. When we first moved back to Austin from California, we were worried about leaving our Vets at the UC Davis Vet School. After several years of using local veterinarians, we were delighted when Dr. Winston opened his practice in Bee Cave and Calvin and Hobbes became two of his first patients. How very fortunate we were that we met Dr. Winston, Judy and Loren. They helped us through the early years of dealing with normal ups and downs of our “boys,” Calvin and Hobbes adored Judy and Dr. Winston. They were both willing to spend hours treating, not only the dogs, but also discussing and explaining pros and cons related to the dogs’ healthcare to us. Judy could always be counted on to come to the house when needed, to let Calvin and Hobbes out and play a bit. Dr. Winston was the one who diagnosed Hobbes osteosarcoma and sent us to a specialist and later to the Vet School at A&M. Both Judy and Dr. Winston supported us through that terrible period with kind sympathy and understanding. With tears in his eyes, Dr. Winston leaned down and kissed Hobbes on the head when we had to put him down. We already thought that he was a very special person, but that confirmed it. After we lost Hobbes, we had a few years with Calvin, when Judy’s house trips were needed more often. Crawford joined in with making sure that Calvin was never left alone for more than a couple of hours. Calvin became well known at Village Vet and we were always thankful that we could count on their knowledge and care. We can enthusiastically say that Village Vet, Dr. Winston and Judy are the very best. It isn’t often that you find such exceptional care together with outstanding veterinary knowledge and such wonderful people. We are so very grateful that we had Village Vet.

I love Eric and Judy enough to join Google (GACK) and write this review. My biggest complaint with Bee Cave Village Vet Hospital is that I do not have the Client Number #1. Dr. Winston had saved my cat while working at an Austin Vet Clinic (early days) and then went beyond what could possibly have been expected for ANY vet, let alone one filling in for a vacationing vet from Wimberley who had misdiagnosed my stallion. Despite illness in his own family, Dr. Winston treated my horse at all hours with the utmost care. I made him promise that if he opened a clinic, I would be his first client. He did not let me down (except the number). Heh. Since that time, Dr. Winston, with the help of Judy, has treated my four house dogs, and cat, our three sheep dogs, and all my horses, including disasters early in the morning or late at night, including an occasional lamb or goose that needs his attention. He has come with or without Judy, with or without his young daughter who named half of my foals, and took in a very large dog that I rescued from Austin who needed an air-conditioned home...that he initially provided and eventually found from another client. Awesome. So I can not say enough nice things about Dr. Eric Winston and his assistant, Judy Wagner. Bee Caves Village Vet Hospital is the best in the area thanks to these dedicated professionals. I would not think of taking my animals anywhere else. Oh, yes... and I am 50 minutes away from the clinic on a good day... Wouldnt even think of changing vets for a second.
