I liked nothing, after I got there. The only thing that stayed the same as per our phone conversation was the price. My dog had advanced bone cancer, many tumors every where, and a lot of pain. She was almost 11 yrs. Old and had been a working ranch dog in some capacity all of her life. She was bright, beautiful, and the best dog I have ever had. She was happiest when she had a job to do and always beat me to the door when she heard the words "time to do chores". I requested that she be put down outside and not on that slippery, cold, metal table. She only had the use of 3 legs and the tumors made it impossible for her to be lifted without causing even more pain. The woman on the phone listened and agreed. I did not want her hurt or scared, the cancer was enough. We arrived, did the paperwork, and paid for the service. We were instructed to go back out to wait and the vet would be out. Two men approached and looked at my girl. The tall thin one rudely stated that she had to be taken inside because we only had one shot at it and he was too tall to do it out there in the car, and I guess he was too tall to get down on the ground and honor any agreement or show any care or concern for the animal. The other man carefully lifted her and went a few steps when she cried out in pain. She was carried on and put on the table, scared. She had been through so much, and struggled for every breath, that I comforted her and went on. Her leg was shaved and her skin was broken from the swelling and itching. The tall man applied alcohol regardless, more unnecessary pain as the risk of infection was not really a factor. I was concentrating on keeping her calm and saying my love yous and goodbyes when the tall man gave what I thought was the first injection. It was the only one she received. It was a horrible death. There was no peaceful passing for my best friend. He informed me that he only likes to stick them once. Since it was all about him I agreed that it probably worked real well for him. I guess the many tumors were not a factor in impeding the path of the injection, or the horrible loss of an amazing animal that never deserved the cancer let alone the death that could have been made much more worthy of her life. This man should not only reap the same but never be allowed to interact with people and their departing pets again. Surely they all deserve better.

I wasnt to found of the staffing here, particularly front office. I came in for visit bc my Yorkie had a growth in her mouth do to bacteria and was going to get her teeth cleaned. I was aware of what I was going to pay & the surgery to remove the growth would be added later, WELL the DAY of her surgery, they had given me a call after she was done sometime around lunch, but I had to call back at 3:55, 35 minuets before my pick up time to ask about my invoice due to the vet needing to go out to his home, which is fine BUT, she confirmed everything except teeth removing. I was like oh my gosh, I was unaware of that happening? And the front desk lady said "well she can get sick so they needed to come out" and I was like right but why didnt anyone call to let me know bc what if I didnt have the extra money to pay for it and she was persistent about paying all of it upfront. Of course I would of said yes but still? It was unprofessional as "front desk" employee to act as if they had a right to proceed on MY animal also, with out my consent & it was completely unprofessional for the vet technision to not give me a call reguarding that she was getting SIX teeth removed. That whole apt. was $327 when I was prepaired for at least 200$-$250. Also, I expected the vet to at least give me a summary when I picked her up but that didnt happen & my dog looked terrified when she came out. She also has a piece of poop attached to the top of her nose & pooped her self (which she never does), and I know bc it was sticking to her fur. Save yourself some time, choose a different vet. I appreciate the vets work but everything else was unprofessional. I work an ortho. Surgeon and we have patients that NEED care as well but we inform them of cost before we proceed and keep them aware, health providers for all living organisms should do the same.

My mother and I have gone here for many many years (since I was 12 now 24) and steadly watched the care for small animals decline. When the vet Bubba worked here animals where taken very well care of. But since the new vet came, it seems he dislikes small animals. We took our 16 year old mild tempered cat to see him for problems he had been having with gingervitus and it was coming to a point we thought his teeth might have to be removed because he would continiously get it back. The vet refused anymore antibiotics or the possibility he may need his teeth removed. When he opened Our elderly cats mouth he opened it so wide the cat began screaming frantically, looked like he may unhenge it. So of course the cat started acting frantic lashing out because of the pain he had just caused. The cat then got loose and he had my mother step out of the room when she returned they had thrown a leash around him and drug him across the floor and a trail of urine followed our elderly cat. When we took the cat home he couldnt shut his mouth very well tongue was hanging out and blood seeping from the corners of his mouth. This week we took him to a new vet, he was very gentle with him the cat did not scream, cry, lash out or anything he was very gentle. The new vet told us his gingervitus was to the point as we guessed he needed all his teeth pulled as pus was streaming down his throat. Had this been taken care of 6 months ago when this started he would have never been in such shape. I definately dont recommend parkview anymore if you value your pets safety.

Our Yorkie was injured a few months ago at RANDOLPH AFB. When we arrive home that evening, I noticed that one of her eyes was bloodshot. We did not know what happened to her at the time. The next day we took her for an evaluation. The wait was not long since this was our first visit there. They took her in for evaluation, we went in the office as well to keep her calm. The Vet was so good she knew what happened & proscribed a solution for her. Within 15 days her eye cleared up without any effect to her. The charge was not bad for a town clinic, especially for a weekend. I realize the military would have been cheaper at Fort Sam Houston but I didnt want to wait for Monday for her to get help. I will surely bring our dogs here since it is a lot closer to our home & I want our dogs to be seen sooner than have to wait for availability at the military installation. I will surely pass on the good word to others on our experience here.
