I have a small 8 yr old dog who needed a dental cleaning and wanting only the best I took him to 3 different vets for a consult, all 3 vets had more than 3 stars and 15 reviews. Tickle blagg was the only clinic where the doc spoke with me in person and really examed my dog. The other 2 sent a tech to quickly see me in the waiting room. Tickle blagg also gave me the lowest estimate at $487 and their pricing is based on weight (13 lbs) for the cleaning, not grade, and then per tooth if extractions are done (7 extractions). The other 2 vets were $640 (with 2 extractions) and $750 (30min extractions - based on time not per tooth). All vets included bloodwork and pain meds in cost and said my baby had grade 2 teeth. All had over a decade in experience and provided the same quality of care during the procedure (I.e. tech cleans, dr. Supervises/ monitors spO2, temp, fluids, ekg, etc.). As for the day of the procedure, the doc came out and talked to me when I dropped my baby off then he called me after my baby went under anesthesia to let me know he was reacting fine, again to check before removing some teeth not included in the estimate and a final call when he was done. When I picked my baby up they reviewed the procedure and post op care, gave me the teeth they removed in a bag (was fun to show the kids), and included before and after pics on the paperwork. They also threw in a complimentary nail clipping, a cute bandana, extra pain meds at no cost and didnt charge me for the clindoral periodontal application ($57) which wasnt included in the estimate. Final cost was $540 after additional tooth extraction (back tooth with 2 roots next to large molar and 2 small teeth behind canines) and bottle of oral hygiene rinse (optional purchase).

We have taken our 3 cats to 5 vets in 4 different states and I would have to say this is the best vet we have ever been to. My cat gets very distressed when traveling outside of our house and they used a lot of techniques to make sure she was comfortable the entire time. When I arrived we were immediately taken to an exam room. We were seen right away by 2 techs/assistants. One pet her/comforted her while the other took notes as I explained the problem we were having with her ears. Shortly after we finished with the techs, we saw Dr. Blagg. He spent a lot of time examining our cat thoroughly and asking a lot of questions to figure out what was ailing her. You could tell he really cares about the welfare of animals and explained everything to me in detail. Upon checking out I received a folder with information on my pets diagnosis as well. Later on in the day I was emailed a Report Card from the days visit outlining the results of our exam. The entire time I was there I felt like my cat was getting the exact treatment that she needed, nothing more. (I have been to vets that try to get you to do all sorts of expensive tests and things that arent that necessary.) If you live in the San Marcos area you NEED to take your pets to this vet!!!!

I have used TB for over a year for one of my cats. I have had no complaints on the care given to my cat. We used TB to neuter (with lasers!) and for microchipping and vaccinations. I recall on the invoice they broke down how much the procedure cost and that they were doing it basically at cost for the neuter. They arent "cheap" but very few vets are due to the cost of procedures and medications. When they suggest a procedure (on my last visit it was a dental cleaning) it is always a suggestion and I dont feel like they are pressuring me into something so they can make money, but genuinely for the welfare of the animal. They are very reasonable and friendly, so if you are in a financial crunch I would just suggest speaking to them ahead of time and they may be able to work with you. Another vet that I have visited in the area that I have heard is on average less expensive is Williams Vet Clinic on Hunter Road. Personally I prefer TB, but Williams is also a good vet.

I took my dog in for her annual visit. My dog got her annual rabies shot and she looked okay. An hour later she was throwing up everywhere and her entire snout was puffy and covered in hives. Her gums got red and very swollen, making it hard for her to breathe. Now when I tried to call Tickle Blagg it goes to their answering service and all they do is take your name and they cant tell you anything. They are very rude and just want to hang up the phone. Now my dog was having a very bad reaction to this rabies shot and I did not know what to do. I had to call the answering service multiple times before anyone would call me back. Finally when he did, he couldnt help me and said to wait and if she starts having seizures then to take her to an emergency vet. I was very disappointed in their service and how he handled the situation. I was not going to wait until my dog had seizures to do something while she was already in pain.

After going to three different vets for some serious health issues with cocker spaniel, we found Tickle Blagg. Instead of looking at the surface issues and trying to treat the symptoms of what was wrong, (balding spots, scabbing, weight gain, loss of energy, irritability) they actually took the time to investigate the root cause of the problems. They located a thyroid issue and with a small pill our dog was back to normal and healthier than ever! They are by far the best vet office in the area!! Always clean, attentive and polite. No issues whatsoever! Highly recommended!!!

Tickle Blagg is the absolute best of the best. I bring all my pets here and they have been nothing short of amazing with all of them. They are reasonably priced for the quality of care they give and dont try to con you into extra expenses. Recently we found a small cancerous growth on my dog that needed to be removed. Dr. Blagg did a great job of cutting any expense he could and making sure that she was well taken care of. They also squeezed her in the following week so no time was wasted. Please trust me and bring them here if you are looking for a new vet!

I cant say enough positive things about this vet office! My dog actually loves going and gets excited every time we pull in the driveway. The staff is exceptional and kind and always professional. They also are very considerate of budgeting circumstances, which is very helpful when youre a college kid. I would recommend them to anybody that asks! Also, if youre lucky enough, youll get Erin Wesselman as your vet assistant. Shes kind and wonderful. I love this place!!

Recently moved to this area and just got a new pup. I decided to take him there and havent had any complaints whatsoever. I have met both vets and they are very nice and always talk straight out about what to expect or recommend different procedures. I never feel like they are shoving a procedure on my dog like I did with my previous vet and pricing is quiet fair. Staff is very friendly with both my dog and I everytime we visit.
