UPDATE: Before starting a professional relationship with this doctor, note that if youre unsatisfied with the service and you write a negative online review, THE DOCTOR WILL TERMINATE YOU AS A PATIENT! After writing my review below, I received a personal certified letter notifying me that because of my public criticism, I will no longer be seen by this doctor! I visited this doctors office in December last year - I had a horrible toothache that lasted a week, and was so painful I almost fainted. This office accepts my insurance, and its close to home. So I called in and scheduled an appointment. The front desk told me that the doctor said he can squeeze me in the next day (at the time I was impressed, but now that I work in the medical industry I realized that more patients = more money. It was never about patient satisfaction with appointments.) When I was on the phone with the front desk, she told me that my insurance only covers 2k, and that specific procedure costs about $2,450. I told her to ask the doctor if it was okay if I paid the next day, when my check came in. (Keep in mind theyre still getting paid the 2k, but not the 450.) I was in such horrible pain so I couldnt wait another day. The front desk said shell ask the doctor and get back to me. A few minutes later I get a call and she says its fine. I get in and the doctor sees me after waiting for an hour (note Ive waited an entire day in this pain so every second feels like eternity.) When hes done, I go up to check out. The doctor himself checks me out, which I thought was odd. When he said I still owed them 450 after the insurance, I told him the conversation that I had with his front desk staff the day before (I thought she went and asked him?) He condescendingly looks at me and says: "how would YOU feel if I walked into your store and picked up and item, and told you I wanted to pay tomorrow?" I was so humiliated. He then looks over at his front desk employee and says "Take care of this." and walks away. Are you serious? I look her in the eye and ask her why this was happening. She denies our entire conversation!!!!!! I then remembered I could post date a check so I wrote one. And I was on my way out. It was the most embarrassing and uncomfortable experience I have ever had with a medical professional. I am to never visit this office again and suggest highly against it.

I have so many positive things to say! I love distinct dental. I am so lucky to have found this practice after having had very negative experiences in 2 other dental surgeries. I was treated with respect and my fears were address with genuine concern and understanding. I have had several times where I was unsure of what might be wrong and each time they went out of their way to arrange an appointment and put my mind at ease. Dr. Rafiei is an amazing professional, not only is he friendly and comforting I feel I can trust him to inform me to make the best decisions for my care. He saw how worried I was to have a cleaning and didnt hesitate to complete it himself even though it was scheduled with the hygienist (who is also lovely), this really evidenced to me that he cares about his patients. He was able to give me the treatment I wanted after another dentist had said it wasnt possible, he made it happen- saving me time, money and discomfort. I have recommended several friends to this practice as well as some random strangers I got chatting to! And I will continue to do so. I very rarely write reviews, but I feel that when choosing a dentist you should make the most informed decision you can. an excellent practice, service and positive experience. 5 stars.

I love Distinct Dental and Dr. Rafiei. I usually hate going to the dentist... I know who doesnt? But honestly, knowing that I am getting to go and see Dr. Rafiei and his staff makes it easier. They always go above and beyond and I always feel like VIP - they listen to me and make sure they do whatever they can to make sure I am comfortable during my visit. Dr. Rafiei has had to go back and fix a lot of dental work that wasnt done properly by another dentist and I always walk out of the office with a peace of mind knowing that Dr. Rafiei has made my teeth/ mouth better than how it was when I came in. Thank you Distinct Dental for setting the bar high for other dentist in the Houston area.

My experience at this dental office was like visiting a spa! The office is super clean and beautifully decorated. The Dr. made me feel safe and at home. I got my teeth whitened and got a temporary crown put on to replace a poorly done crown from 10 years ago. I had been told by two other dentists that they could not fix my crown, and Dr. Rafiei assured me that he could and would. I will get my permanent crown next week, and I can not wait to show it off. Already, just from the whitening I feel younger and am more confident. Thank you Dr. Rafiei and the Distinct Dental staff for making me feel comfortable in your office, and confident in life.

Listen all very carefully.... I have had nightmare experiences, so so experiences and good experiences with dentists & specialists. I am EXTREMELY terrified of having dental work done and my mouth proves it. Never again! This is the first time that I can say I am have GREAT experience at the dentist. Dr. Rafiei has been kind, patient and informative. His office is warm and wonderful with the latest, greatest machines and gizmos. The staff is pleasant and helpful - I have been handing out their card to all I know and work with. It is very hard deciding who to go to these days - Dr. Rafiei is the best choice :)

Dr. Rafiei always makes going to the dentist such a great experience. He is thorough in his work and always makes sure during the visit that I understand what he is doing and why. I have been to other dentists in the past and can really tell the difference when I come here. In addition to the great service, I love the office itself. I dont ever feel like Im at the dentist when I come here and I dont know about you, but a CLEAN dental office is very important to me and this place is immaculate!!! Ive seen different dentist in my lifetime and I have to say Dr. Rafiel is by far the best Ive experienced. What stands out to me is he REALLY cares about the health and wellbeing of your teeth. He takes his time to help you understand the care that hes delivering. I can see a real passion for what he does. That means a lot to me as getting quality dental care is of utmost importance to me. My entire family is under his care and I wouldnt think twice about referring someone to him.

I was always petrified of dentists. We finally found Dr. Rafiei after we moved to Houston. He and his staff are amazing. They are kind and compassionate. Dr. Rafiei is wonderful - experienced and so good at what he does. From my first appointment through the end of my procedure, he was very professional, talked me through every step of the process. They make sure to answer all your concerns and questions! I would recommend Dr. Rafiei to family and friends.
