I moved my mother in my home in San Antonio to live with my family and she needs care on a daily basis. I have looked for a company that I can call on without much notice to give me a break when I need to go on an appointment or my husband and I go out of town for a few days. This has been a very difficult search but we have been very happy with Griswold Special Cares service so far. We have used them on about 4 different occassions and they have always come through, even when I didnt provide much notice. The only comment I have is I wish we could have the same person come each time but they told me it would be difficult to get the same person when I only need their service on occassion which is the reason for the 4 star instead of 5, but I may be expecting too much. Otherwise a definite recommend!

We heard about Griswold Special Care from a home health agency in the San Antonio Area in August 2008. We hired them to take care of my father-in-law who lived at home and had Alzheimers. We live out of state and needed strong caregivers who could manage the household in addition to take care of two elderly folks who needed care 24/7. This agency was our answer to the stress my husband & I had in dealing with the care that was require to make things work in the household. Their caregivers are the best.We have used them for nearly 2 years. We were extremely impressed with the quality of care the folks received and highly recommend Griswold to families who need care for a dependent person. She is truly a leader in the home care industry, you can see her dedication and desire to help seniors and their families. At the church I attend we have a large senior adult group and when someone needs non-medical services, Griswold Home Care is the first one that our members recommend. When I refer a family to Griswold , I know their needs will be taken care of. Laura and George McGuire have built a wonderful company and have a pristine reputation in the our industry and I feel very privileged to know them.

Thoughtful and Complete Care. Griswold Special Care was able to help my difficult father stay in his home safely when the only other option was to move to an assisted living facility or have a family member stay home with him. The caregiver helped him, but allowed him to feel indepedant and gave the rest of the family peace of mind that he was safe. I recomend giving at home care a shot before an expensive and difficult move into a facility. Griswold is a great company which truely cares about the quality of service they provider and the character of the people they put in your home. A.E.

We have used Griswold before, found that they were just fine for the services needed. Today, on a Saturday, I called Laura, co-owner of Griswold Home care, and she helped us (on her day off) with information on elder care, taking away from her time with her children at the local swimming pool.
