I recently moved into the Bealeton area and was looking for a dentist close to home. I had one appointment with Gavin Reynolds DDS and it was enough for me to never go back. I went for a routine dental checkup, but ended up experiencing the most painful cleaning I have ever endured. My wife, who flosses daily and takes care of her teeth better than I do, had the same experience. Of course, it wasnt Gavin Reynolds who did the cleaning, but rather his dental hygienist, so maybe you should just avoid that particular hygienist. We were already strongly considering finding another dentist after our painful encounters when we got the bill in the mail. Gavin Reynolds charged me $225 extra that was not covered by my insurance for "4355 scaling prescence of inflam." I guess the extra painful cleaning cost an additional $225. When I asked why didnt they tell me before they did this "extra" cleaning that it wasnt covered by my insurance, the secretary just said, "usually they do cover it." In the end, they gave me a $25 discount off the bill so I ended up paying $200 for a routine dental checkup that should have cost me $0. I cant really tell if they did this on purpose or if it was just incompetence, but Im not going to tolerate it either way. On top of all this, they tried to tack on additional $2.76 finance charge, which I guess is for late payment. This in spite of the fact that I talked to the secretary and she said that she would send me a new bill with the new price of $200. I said I would pay it in full once I got the bill. Again, malfeasance or incompetence? Im not going to go back to find out thats for sure.

Our entire family has been seeing Dr. Reynolds for 15 years. He is thorough, professional, and friendly. When there are options in treatment, he has always presented the benefits vs. costs of each to help us choose the one that is right for us. I highly recommend him.
