I have TMJ. I have had my Jaw fractured as well as having a bone disease and I have terrible pain. Probably the worst kind of pain in the world. It has caused me to lose almost 50% of my hearing and I cannot even put into words what getting through a normal day is like the headaches and jaw pain sometimes I cannot even talk or smile especially. I shared this with him and his staff and at first they were very kind and helpful. He created for me a bit piece device that I am paining alot of money for and there is no guarantee that that will even work. But none the less I am paying for it like $600. He tells me this could take a while to get this under control getting other doctors involved ect and I understand completely. He gave me medicine in the mean time Then my daughter gets the Flu and she is only 4 so I have to miss my appointment to get the bite piece and I ask him to please refill my medicine and I talk to the staff (Karen) who was REALLY MEAN and she says he is not giving you anymore treatment and stated to me "if you have time to pick up a prescription then you have time to come to your appointment!!!" so I was like Okay so I can just run in and pick it up (hoping it will take away my pain) and she says to me"No the appointment tales about 30min or so" Okay Im like well it will have to be next week simply because I cannot bring my 4 year old that is vomiting and has a fever of over 104 to my dentist!! She did not care AT ALL and was so mean in fact I got off of the phone and cried while I was at my daughter pediatrician just because of how mean she was and now they are unwilling to treat me after I finally thought I had some relief....When you have pain like this daily when someone is this mean about it to you it really hurts!!! This Dentist does not even know that this "devise" will help at all and I am spending $600 and now he is not willing to even treat my pain. I think I will cut my loses and find another dentist. I think they are just after money they dont REALLY care about the patient especially someone with a bone disease and struggling with serious jaw problems. Dont go here find another dentist!!

Dr. Moss III, is awesome. From the front desk, Karen, to all the fabulous back office staff, they are the kindest and most professional! I came to this office as a emergency patient, on Christmas Eve. My previous dentist wanted me to wait three weeks, with a broken bridge of my 4 front teeth. Really. So, Siri and I went through the list. They got me in one and a half hours later. Dr. Moss III gave me the most thorough comprehensive exam I have ever had from a dentist on a follow up visit. We just went through my first step in fixing my dental nightmare. I had a broken eye tooth that the previous bridge used to attach to. Not only did they listen to all my concerns, they followed through. I have had some horrifying experiences in the past and was crying before the first shot. I NEVER felt the needle! I was treated with respect and kindness. I left with beautiful teeth. I was sore the rest of the day, but today, Im fine! Michelle, did my periodontal cleaning, she was as gentle as could be. They were kind also in the respect that I had to delay my initial large treatment do to money. I was not made to feel bad and they worked with me. Karen even called my insurance company and went over the fees and coverages before my visit for me. Who does that? I strongly recommend this office and this staff! You wont be sorry. I went to this practice for most of my childhood and I remember my family being pleased. I then went to college, moved away for several years, and returned. I initially attempted to try a different dentist in the Fredericksburg area who was a "preferred" dentist in my dental insurance plan. Big mistake. I was told I had a cavity (I have never had a cavity in my life). I decided to trust my gut and go back to the dental practice I KNOW wont try to cheat me and get a second opinion. So I saw Dr. Moss III and sure enough.....no cavity. The office staff was nice enough to fit me in quickly for the second opinion and Dr. Moss III even took some free xrays to be thorough since the xrays I brought from the previous dentist were not clear (and insurance wouldnt have covered another set that soon). Suffice to say, I am keeping Dr. Moss III as my dentist (Dr. Moss Jr. is equally great and is the one I saw as a child). It is better to pay a little extra money out of pocket for an "out of network" dentist that I know I can trust and does a great job than pay nothing and have your teeth drilled into for no ethical reason. I wholeheartedly recommend having dental work done here. The office staff is very pleasant and the dentists are skilled and HONEST.

I had the honor of having the Moss perform a root canal today for me. There is no way these gentlemen do not care about their clients as some have stated. They treated me with the utmost respect and kindness, they took time from their own busy work day to perform this procedure for me at the Moss Clinic, when otherwise I would have been left with one option.... yet another extracted tooth. I suffer from fibromyalgia and interstitial cystitis among other things...often I am not numbed well enough to suffice for dental procedures due to my hyper sensitive nerves from the fibro.....I am also often met with irritation when the IC flares and I need a bathroom break. Not so today.... both Moss Jr and Moss III were kind, understanding and compassionate. For the first time I felt like I was being treated as an actual human being by a dentist there....not a second class citizen because of the situation my health issues have put me in. I would highly recommend their practice to anyone in Fredericksburg and the surrounding area. Thank you Dr. Moss, JR and Dr. Moss, III for your compassion and work in the community. 5 stars...highly recommend!

This office is welcoming and friendly and the doctors know a lot about their expertise. HOWEVER-- The reason I am giving it only 3 stars is because I would not recommend it for your TMJ needs. I have battled with this disorder for years and used a $25 walmart night guard, again- for years. I was excited to purchase a dentist made night guard in hopes of some relief. I paid $570 out of pocket. I still had headaches and neck pain, the pressure was just redirected to my front teeth. In less than 6 months, I woke to the device in two pieces in my mouth. It is small (only covers front teeth), so I could have choked on it. I just moved out of the area and when I called to explain what had happened, I was dismissed. I offered to mail my night guard back to them to repair it (they have my molds), they said no because they couldnt fit me -- that is not necessary. I asked about any kind of warranty -- I was met with "You could have broken your teeth!" - My $25 walmart night guard has lasted me years. $570. Gone. 6 months.
