I wish I had known a decade ago how beneficial chiropractic treatment could be. Dr. Alicia Haupt has been a Godsend to me. I had been suffering from what I thought was a hip and arm problem, which was aggravated by a jaw dislocation. It turned out to be a neck and lower back problem, which now, after ten months seeing Dr. Haupt, has greatly improved. Prior to my initial visit with Dr. Haupt, I was being treated by a jaw specialist for dislocated jaws, which was brought on by years of TMJ disorder and several lengthy dental procedures. In addition, I was unable to walk long distances or on uneven surfaces, such as touring in Washington, D.C. or pushing the lawn mower, without shooting pain. Often I had to lift my right leg with my hands as I got in and out of the car. I could not climb stairs at times without pulling myself up by the banister. As for my right arm, I was unable to lift a milk carton or open jars at times without pain. The jaw specialist recommended that I see a chiropractor for the related neck and arm pain. What a difference it has made! Dr. Haupt took x-rays and determined that it was my neck and lower back that were causing the referred pain in my right arm and hip. Initially she saw me tri-weekly to realign my spine, neck and jaws. She also advised me on some dietary changes and recommended supplementing with D3, Fish Oil and probiotics. She has given me several exercises to do at home to help improve my muscle tone, which in turn will help stabilize my neck and spine. All of these things that she has done for me have worked together to give me my life back again. I am now seeing her about every other week. I no longer walk with pain. I can now walk for hours around town without my hip bothering me. I can climb stairs with ease. My right arm pain is gone and even though recently my left arm and shoulder have begun to act up, she is helping to get that back on track as well. I have been able to resume my lawn-mowing and related yard work and am able to carefully lift a gallon of water or a large bag of dog food of without my arm failing. I am able to get in and out of the car normally now. As for my jaws, she has been key in keeping them in proper alignment. I will continue my care under Dr. Haupt. She has given me my life back. I highly recommend her to anyone who is seeking to improve their overall health and well being.

Dr. Haupt is a miracle worker! I know not every body has the same experience or response to treatment, but my experience at Gateway Chiropractic has been one to write home about. At 8 weeks pregnant I experienced a pinched nerve in my neck that caused excruciating pain in my back/shoulder and arm. After almost a week of suffering (no safe medical treatment for pinched nerve during pregnancy) and being out of work I went to the physical therapist (while I support physical therapy, it is not a quick fix) who saw me 2 days in a row then was not planning to see me again for FIVE DAYS! I needed help now, not in five days! At the advice of family and friends I decided to go to the chiropractor. I have never gotten better advice in my life. Dr. Haupt had me feeling relief in just a couple days and she saw me EVERY DAY! When you are in excruciating pain and unable to be excited about your new pregnancy, being seen and feeling like you are making progress every day is important! I didnt know much about chiropractic medicine until this experience, but Dr. Haupt is extremely knowledgeable and a good teacher. She is passionate about, and believes in (as she should), what she does and it makes a great impact on the care you receive. I have never felt like anyone has ever wanted to help me like she did. She is dedicated and compassionate. As a worker in the healthcare field myself, I cannot say enough good things about this practice. Now at 19 weeks pregnant, I am nearing the end of my treatment (although the pain was gone long ago), but I know exactly where I will go if I ever feel that pain again. I cant end this review without saying how great the evening staff are as well! They definitely contributed to a great experience.

Please avoid this provider unless you have insurance that [completely] covers any and all aspects of chiropractic care. I was told that a typical self-pay patient pays, on average, $52 (I might not remember this number correctly...) per visit, but that it was even better if you "have insurance". My insurance is not good and I understand that, but when my visit was over they charged me $85.00 up front.... a couple of weeks later I received a bill from my insurance provider of $187+ (this was the portion that I was responsible for and it the total for the "care" I received). In short they charged $85 up front plus over $380 billable insurance dollars, "because I had insurance". All for an x-ray (I know these are expensive and couldnt be foreseen prior to my visit), electrical stim (which they seem to do to everyone; weird), an ultrasound on my shoulder and the chiropractor messaging my neck for 3 minutes, tops. My insurance bill has everything itemized and its outrageous to me, and I wish I had never told them that I have insurance. I cannot express the level of my dissatisfaction with this group and I will faithfully and diligently recommend against them. I work in a business where this type of survey is taken seriously and often we get disgruntled clients and I understand that perhaps to you guys Im just "another one of those people who you can never please", but this was way out of bounds. Please be more upfront with your patients about how you bill insurance companies and how that can really impact your patients wallet. Delivering this type of experience is definitely NOT a helpful tactic in attempting to establish credibility in an already highly skeptical marketplace.

For years Ive struggled with sciatica and lower back pain, experiencing flare ups 2-3 times a month. Over the course of this time, my treatment plan consisted of a horrible cycle of medications, rest and tolerance. I dreaded physical activity, knowing I would severely regret it the next day. I tried numerous techniques to help me sleep better, but none of them helped. At only 28, I lost hope and accepted that having a normal pain free lifestyle simply wasnt in the cards for me. About two months ago, I began seeing Dr. Haupt as one last attempt to regain control of my bodys health. The results have absolutely amazed me. I no longer experience the constant pain that I previously accepted as a way of life. I no longer dread what a little exercise will do or contemplate whether or not I should lift something in fear of what consequences it may have. I cannot begin to praise Dr. Haupt enough! She has truly transformed my body in a matter of weeks, going above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend her services, and will be a patient for years to come!

I have been visiting Gateway Chiropractic for over 6 months for several different ailments. Dr Alicia Haupt was outstanding in diagnosing and treating two very painful problems I had with my neck and lower back, and after several months, they were gone. She worked on me in the office and also gave me very effective exercises to do at home. More recently I visited the office for a shoulder issue and now this has improved significantly. Dr. Haupt has a can do attitude, she cares deeply about her patients, and I believe she can fix almost any problem with manipulation, therapy and other tools she has at her disposal. The staff at Gateway Chiropractic is outstanding, pleasant and professional, and they always work you in, even if you dont necessarily have an appointment. I have never seen a medical front office managed so efficiently. The experience I have here each visit is exceptional
