So I have been a diabetic for almost 13 years now and as I have come to know; a good Endocrinologist is a diamond in the rough. I have heard through the grape vine of friends that he is a diamond. I have been through many emotional scars from a few and was not satisfied with the one I had. I had to wait until January of 2017 but I knew it would be worth it. I felt so much compassion and inspiration from my first appointment. It wasnt just about my numbers. It wasnt just about my readings. It was about how I was doing as a whole. Only 2 other Endos I had before has done that for me. It was a breath of fresh air. I finally got the quality care that I have been searching for and I hope to stay for many years to come. It isnt always an easy road but it helps when someone cares about you as much as he does.

Dr. Horwath has been my physician since 2006 and I love him. However, since hes become part of Inova I had an overall miserable experience trying to get a hold of someone to confirm or change an appointment. I called a week before my appointment to reschedule. I received a call to confirm my appointment after I had canceled it. The woman on the phone said she could not reschedule for me that it had to be done by the Dr.s scheduler. This is my second go around at this. Its now been over a week and I have not heard from anyone. Love my doctor but Inova system just is not customer friendly.

I called the new patient phone number 5 times today. I left my contact information but was never called back. I went to the doctors office before they closed to speak with someone about getting an appointment. I was told the first appointment would be sometime in 2017!!! It is Aug 15th. This is unacceptable to wait 5+ months or more for a Dr. appointment. I have recorded the exchange in the office and will upload to YouTube. I dont know if Obama Care has created this situation, or just exasperated it. I would likely get much better care than this in Cuba.

I have been a patient of Dr. Horwath for many years. Two years ago, Dr. Horwath joined up with INOVA. Apparently, INOVA does not believe in answering the phone or returning calls. I finally gave up and found another doctor. I will miss Dr. Horwath and his bedside manner but I need a doctor that answers their phone.
