Worst er visit ever tonight. I was actually seen at this emergency department a bit over a month ago and saw a really great Dr. who spent time with me, looked at the areas I was complaining about, and seemed genuinely concerned. When I was discharged he told me that if I what I had came back to come back (he knew I had no primary care Dr) and that if I didnt find a primary Dr to come back and be seen there thats what theyre there for. What a joke. The issue came back 3 days ago and has been getting worse and worse so I finally decided to go back in tonight as its unbearable. I was taken right back so I thought things might be good. Well I was first "seen" by the physician assistant who literally spent less than 60 seconds with me and didnt do any exam other than looking in my wrong ear and prescribing 2 medicines over the counter that Ive already been taking that havent been helping and a steroid (without any exam or diagnosis) and tell me that I was already seen for this and seem to be looking for drugs (I never asked for any meds) the attending physician came in said he was the attending didnt do any exam and said theyd be giving me my prescription and out I go. When the rn brought my meds I asked to leave a complaint as I was not actually seen. She sent the attending md back in. When I said I was unhappy no one even looked at me he told me that I had been seen there for the same issue not long over a month ago and they dont see people 2 times for the same issue and that I was a drug seeker (I never asked for any meds just for someone to actually look at me). Mind you the first Dr I saw there said come back anytime if the symptoms come back were here to help you. I have never in my life had a prescription or any other drug problem. Ive never been so insulted in my life. It was extremely embarrassing. And they prescribed a steroid drug and between the 2 of them saw me as a patient less than 5 mins. Most of that the attending as first physician assistant 60 seconds or less. How can you prescribe anything without actually taking the time to actually look. I am going to go see another Dr and if anything is found that the Drs here missed because I wasnt worth it as a patient Ill be looking at legal recourse. There was 0 reason for the rudeness. If you have loved ones or are sick yourself DO NOT come here ever. Also the Rn who brought me some sort of mail in paper to complain was also extremely rude. She told me the Dr I saw a month ago may have said "come back" but only if it was in a couple days. That they dont see follow ups or 2 times for the same issue. That is total bs as the Dr I saw over a month ago said quite specifically that if the same issue came back to come back in without hesitation no matter the length of time because thats what they are there for. When I explained thats what the original Dr said the nurse said I was lying. So I left angry and embarrassed and still hurting and still with not one person actually looking at me and/or listening. To them I wasnt worth being seen and was accused of being a drug seeker even though I asked for not one single medicine. Apparently though its ok to prescribe a steroid without being looked at or have any diagnosis what so ever.

Today I had the WORST experience at this place. I was having SEVERE abdominal pain and pressure to the point that my breathing was restricted. The pain got so bad at one point that I started screaming for help because the pain had changed and something bad had shifted in me. At that point I REALLY couldnt breathe and I started yelling for help because access to a call button wasnt provided to my bedside. I had multiple medical staff walk past me, look at me and continue walking. At one point my mother in law went out and started searching for someone. A guy came in and told me "Ill tell your nurse" he walked out and I never saw him or my nurse again. I started losing my coloring, labored breathing and STILL nobody would respond. After almost 20 min of begging and yelling for help I was finally provided with pain relief and oxygen. The complete negligence I experienced was/is uncalled for. What if I suffered cardiac arrest or completely stopped breathing altogether? The staff were incredibly RUDE to me as well, non sympathetic to my being in severe pain and labored breathing. Please, if you experience something severe enough to require an ER visit then drive an extra 10 min north and go to Providence Everett. Im done with Swedish. Something bad could have ended up happening to me and I was seriously treated like I was a drug seeking mental basket case who was just randomly yelling for no reason. Completely unacceptable, terrible patient care.

I came in an ambulance, and this was the rudest, least responsive emergency room staff that I have ever encountered. The nurse refused to give me shots in my right arm (Im left-handed) because she "already put it as left arm in the computer". I was treated for a huge, very deep cut, and she also refused to give me tylenol because she "already checked me out in the computer". So I left with literally no pain medication at all despite 7 shots and 6 stitches, no verbal information on how to care for the wound (just a generic handout), and no information about whether I should return to have the stitches removed or not. She also didnt even tell me that I was checked out, I was just standing in the room waiting to sign papers or something, and she returned a few minutes later and was just like "oh, you need to leave". Just absolutely ridiculously lacking in bedside manner as well as any sort of communication or information. Oh, did I mention that they stitched me up, THEN did x-rays, then decided there was still glass in the cut, so they re-opened the stitches to dig around in the cut. Then they werent able to find whatever showed up on the x-rays, so they just stitched me back up and told me to see a podiatrist...

I have been to every emergency room in Seattle with different people. This is one of the little known best places I have seen. They had the patient in the room immediately even before they got all the info and the nurse had permission to put them on a nebulizer for breathing even before the doctor got in there. Multiple people were in attendance getting info and working together. The PT or respiratory person (not sure which) who was waling patient down the hall with a monitor took a cup in case urine was needed to avoid a second trip down the hall. This particular month I was there 3 times with various people and myself (my first time in ER except for a broken wrist) they are extremely good. But the working relationship they have with each other and the permission staff have to do things ahead blew me away. This is the way an ER should be run. Due to the fact it is not well known it was not over crowded and we were in and out quickly but they have all the equipment needed for treatment. Also have computer access to med records if you are a poly clinic patient and I assume swedish.
