While it was scary to go to a place with "cancer" in its name all services were performed by wonderful people. I can say that the weakest link is the Radiology Department; however, EVERYONE else is just fabulous. Everyone takes great care with you and you are treated like royalty. We all become very spoiled by the extra care taken by the large number of our "team". If one has a complaint, then it is taken very, very seriously and is quickly rectified. As the treatment center for the Fred Hutchinson Research Center, the SCCA is the top in the Nation. The other ones are Sloan-Kettering in NYC and MD Anderson in Houston. As a Stage II Breast Cancer patient (yearly exams, everyone!!), I now feel as though I have a PhD in cancer treatment. Everyone is so open about what is happening and what to expect. Full disclosure is the key word and much loving care by your team. Good luck to everyone!

I was referred to SCCA Breast Center by my gyn after a suspicious mamogram. They didn,t explain what to expect (another mamogram or procedure, or what?), and when I went to the appointment, the nurse practitioner, Leilla M, brushed aside my questions as if I were a dog at the vet. She was indignant because I used to smoke, and lost her patience when I couldn,t remember exactly how long I had taken birth control pills. After four kids, two marriages and forty years, it,s not easy to figure out, but don,t expect Leilla M (who is barely out of college) to accept that! In a stressful situation, the last thing I needed was a condescending, self-important diva barking out orders and grabbing my allegedly cancerous boob with her sharp claws.

You dont know it until someone you love has cancer, but little details mean everything. Not having to wait away the whole day in the waiting room. Being smiled at by the receptionist. Being taken seriously by the doctors and nurses when unexpected situations arise that are outside the norm. Having a nutritionist visit you while you are getting chemo instead of having to make and pay for one more doctors appointment. It is so reassuring that I can trust SCCA to take care of my mom when she is there, so I can worry about the rest of the roller coaster that is cancer. Also, from a statistical perspective, the SCCA 5 year survival rates for colon cancer are much better than the national average.

This is an amazing place, care and compassion in ALL aspects of treatment. We are so lucky to have "THE BEST OF THE BEST? In Seattle. For those that dont want to drive that far, you have no idea, whats going to be involved in your treatment. The award winning Fred Hutchison Cancer Research is located right across the street from SCCA they also partner with UW Medicine and Childrens hospital, it just doesnt get any better than that. You will receive the latest and greatest treatment. I was very impressed with the treatment my mom received while fighting breast cancer, and now that I have breast cancer - I know I will win the fight just as my mom did. Without question they are the best.

I grew up at a time when most cancers were thought to be death sentences, and when a family member was diagnosed, I expected to meet a medical team who had the look of undertakers. Not. Everyone we met treated us as a family with a treatable condition that affected a human being. Never have we had less hurried, more sympathetic treatment, been told (accurately, it turned out) what to expect, or had a smoother series of treatments. SCCA is what all health care should aspire to.

I am a 16 year cancer survivor. I went there having to switch from Childrens Hospital to the survivorship program at SCCA and I was treated with so much care and compassion. My doctor is the most helpful person ever. I walked in there and she knew exactly everything I had gone through to the T before she even met me. She became a very good friend I could ask any question about and being able to email her with any health questions is a HUGE bonus for me.

Everyone here is pleasant and professional. The coordination of care is amazing and efficient, while maintaining the attitude of compassion and empathy that patients and their families need. I was treated previously at a different medical facility in Burien which does not even come close to the care I am receiving at SCCA. I am so grateful and happy that I switched! Dr. Specht is a wonderful oncologist and her whole team is just stellar.

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!! SCCA provides outstanding care while using the most cutting edge treatments for cancer. They saved my dads life. Not only are they using the latest in chemo treatments available for Leukemia they are the world leader in stem cell transplants. SCCA performs more stem cell transplants than anyone in the world and the have the highest success rate. There is no better place to be.

This is not an alliance to treat, it seems a veneer , that in the end does not allow a critically ill cancer patient get through the front door. You get stopped at every turn and the message is: this is not what you want nor where you want to be. That it is some other departments responsibility.

Different departments never seem to communicate with each other. Alot of hurry up and wait. Accepted into treatment program and then told liver cancer too far gone and cant be helped so turned away. Months jumping through hoops only to get hopes up and then shot down.

Saved my life. Doctors and nurses are great! They helped me financially as well when I was in desperate need. My disease physically and financially pulled the rug out from under me, and they made it work anyway. Cant thank patient financial services enough.

The best care my dad could have gotten while going through his cancer treatment. A special thanks to Dr. Cristina Rodriguez and her staff for their valiant efforts. I would recommend this place to anyone with any cancer diagnosis without any qualms.

Currently in the process of saving my life. Fair level of care is the best in the area. Not only that but the staff there put their hearts into their jobs everytime I go I leave with hope not despair or discouragement.

The whole SCCA organization has been professional, and their doctors are excellent. They are meticulous about keeping the environment clean, wipe bannisters daily, and even have clean-wipes by their public phones.

The doctors/nurses and staff are consistently amazing and are taking very good care of my wife. I feel she is getting the best possible care she can receive. A benchmarking healthcare facility in my opinion.

Chaotic, impersonal, disorganized, ZERO customer service (can we meet someone before we dive into costs? The dont even ask about your experience with any survey. Or ever. They need to get it together.
