Im only giving this place one star because I have too. They truly dont deserve that much. As a previous employee I am rating the facility as a place for employment. I suggest for future CNAs to avoid this workplace. I did my clinical practice there, it seemed amazing but once I was employed it was entirely different. Management was speedy. The administrator is very rude and condescending. Management falsely cares. This is a complaint from multiple employees. I have close friends that are not getting paid the agreed upon amount. She was hired on as PRN and supposed to be paid 13.25. She is in as part-time and paid 12.43 and is still working as a PRN employee. She has confronted them multiple times and called for help from state support. There has been no justice and legally she can lose her job. Reimbursements are not paid as they promise. They stall and hold onto papers hoping youll forget about it. The work isnt bad, the facility looks and seems nice but its truly very upsetting that there is so much corruption. The only person that truly seems to care about the health care system is Dave the nurse administrator. He seems to truly want change but doesnt have the power to do it or the eyes to see everything that happens. Ben Young seemed nice at first. He is truly the opposite. He talks down to you, calls everyone "buddy" and avoids the real problems. I dont recommend this work place.

Very dissappointed with ManorCare. My mom was there a couple of years ago and the place was great. I dont know what happened between then and now. But heres the list of complaints. It took over two days for her to get her blood pressure meds. The first day she arrived I gave them her list of meds. Actually 3 days later they still dont have it right. The food is worse than bad. I hate to say it but I had better in jail. And it is always cold. Also for whatever reason they seem to be very short handed as it is a rare occassion that a cna or nurse is available when you need on. The one thing good I will say, the nurses and CNA s are very kind and seem good hearted. Cant blame them for there not being enough of them. But how good can it be for someone trying to recover when they have to wait hours to relieve themselve. Or a patient goes days without an incision being checked or a bandage changed. Avamere seems to be much better staffed and the food is good and hot. And when you call for help there is someone is there emnediately.

I had the opportunity to stay at manor care while I recovered from a four level spinal fusion. The care there was excellent. I have stayed at other facilities with other injuries and the care at manor care was far and above any place I have stayed. The nursing staff of Deb and Vivian, and CNA care, Minny and Tanya and Bryan were the best. My needs were met and they genuinely cared about me and my recovery. The food was very good and always hot and timely. Even the laundry service is exceptional. You hand in your dirty clothes or things that need washing and Kay the in the laundry department makes sure they are back fresh and clean in the same day. The director of the facility , Mr. Young was the best. He made sure I was taken care of and was hands on. I can not say enough about this facility. Everything was just fantastic. Five star and I would recommend to everyone that if you need a facility put manor care on the top of the list. You will not be dissatisfied.

My 93 year old father was recently here for six weeks to build back his strength after becoming exhausted with a bad cold. He really got good care - especially with the physical, occupational, and speech therapy, which were outstanding. The staff from top to bottom was, generally speaking, efficient and kind. I dont really have any complaints. I dont question the negative reviews here. I think that any facility like this is liable to have some horror stories. Part of that is just in the nature of the situation. Having read a sample of those stories, it was hard for us to decide where he should be. The family is very happy to have picked Manorcare. It does help to stay in close touch with your friend or relative after theyre admitted. Visits allow you to see how things actually are, and draw attention to any areas that need improvement. To its credit, Manorcare was responsive on those relatively rare occasions.

DO NOT TAKE ANYONE TO THIS PLACE!!! They dont even deserve 1 star. I have had 2 grandmothers stay here in the last 2 years. The first fell and was on the floor for one hour and 25 minutes before she was helped. The second is 85 years old and was given 2 medicines that should not have been used in conjunction with one another and was heavily sedated because of it. She was then transferred to the hospital where they had to do extensive testing. This place should be shut down for negligence and malpractice. I will tell every one I know to avoid this place at all costs.

I had my mother there for an extended stay, ( about a month ) and I was for the most part disappointed. Her foot was supposed to be elevate to prevent swelling, but every time I visited, she was in her chair, foot on the floor and swollen. After she was released to go home, they prescribed a drug she is highly allergic to. The care she was given I would have to say was sub par at best. I would not recommend this facility to anyone you care about.

My husband was at ManorCare 2yrs ago. He was recovering from a near fatal motorcycle accident. The care was wonderful. Its a very clean facility. The food was pretty good and the nurses and aides were very competent and friendly. It is just off the 205 freeway. Makes it convenient and easy to get to.

My 96 year old mother was a patient at Manor Care Salmon Creek after a pelvic fracture. Her ortho rehab was stellar. All the PT and OT staff were positive, knew their stuff, and were able to motivate her to full recovery. The nursing staff took wonderful care of her as well.

My uncle stayed there for a few weeks and says it was like being in jail and he would never go back there again. He is elderly and still of sound mind however he said they strapped him down at times or isolated him to his room.

My grandmother was in here for therapy after she fell. They treated her very well and were very accommodating. Much better than many of the corporate homes in the area.
