I think that to be able to fully appreciate this place you need to understand that it is not an ordinary shop where you get your eye exam and buy frames. Personally, I enjoyed the process very much as it made me realize that theres more to glasses. They are an accessory that can dramatically improve your look so theres no reason to treat the selection process lightly :) I got my first prescription for glasses in 2011 and my husband needed a new pair of glasses at the same time. It was a huge shock to me to discover that I need to wear them. It was my first time ever choosing frames and I knew nothing of them. So we made an appointment and went to see the frames. Initially, I thought were just going to be roaming endless rows of display shelves and try things on as we go, but thank god it wasnt the case. We had the pleasure of working with one of the co-owners (I think?) of the place. She sat us down, and had us try on frames from the selection she presented. As we tried them on she would tell us whether the frames were a yes, no or a maybe. At this point we didnt see how we look in the glasses but nevertheless 3 piles grew steadily :) when we felt like we had enough to choose from we got mirrors and started trying the frames on and finally after discussing a couple of prescription details the selection was made. I have received many compliments on my glasses ever since :) On another note: the frame selection is huge, and theres a variety of styles that are completely unavailable in standard stores that like to nest themselves near malls. The staff has always been very pleasant to deal with, I honestly dont understand the comments stating otherwise. I understand that a lot of people like to have absolute control over all of their choices, but I really think its okay to have a professional help you. When you think about it, they have no interest in letting you leave the shop looking terrible! Every single one of the customers with nicely matched frames is, after all, the best advertisement they can hope for. They will say if something looks bad on you but its professional honesty, not a personal dig. And Im not saying it based on just one experience. We came back in 2013 to have my glasses fixed (no there was no flaw in them, I broke them) and we met with the same kind and professional treatment as before. I would recommend Eyopia to anyone who is looking for a unique and very personalized approach and wants to look great in their glasses!

I have been visiting optometrists for over 13 years, and have gone to at least 4 different places. Eyeopia is by far the best place I have ever been. -The doctor is very educational and patient. I learned so much about how my eyes work, and which prescription is best for different stages and functions of my life. He took a lot of time out of his practice to meet with me (multiple times) so that I could get a perfect prescription. Other doctors, I found out, had been giving me the wrong one. -The glasses selection is top notch, and the staff are very knowledgeable! I will advised that you should not waste your time looking for your glasses here if you are solely concerned with price. Eyopia is better suited for someone concerned with finding a high quality, fashionable, functional, and well fitting pair of glasses they are looking to keep and wear regularly. I am sure though that the staff would honor a budget if you advised them of one. -One of my favorite features besides the attention to detail, customer service, and selection is that the staff really help pick out your glasses, almost like a personal shopper. They took into account my lifestyle, face shape, style, and prescription. Ive never had any experience like this, and I now wear my glasses daily. Thanks so much Eyeopia!

Eyeopia is one of the few VSP providers near where I live, so I called in to see if I could use the prescription I got from my doctors clinic where all of my medical doctors reside. I am near the end of a two year prescription, but for financial reasons, and time constraints on my FSA account, I wanted to use my existing prescription to buy eyeglasses. I called to check and they told me that prescriptions are only valid for one year. I did some research, and there is no law in the State of Wisconsin which limits eyeglass prescriptions to one year. The expiration date is what the prescribing physician writes on the prescription. Unfortunately, I wont be going to Eyeopia, which is a shame, because I do usually go out of my way to patronize local businesses. In this economy, I wish they were more sensitive to the fiscal realities some people face. I ended up buying two pairs of glasses at Costco instead. The frames arent as designer but the lenses are as good as anywhere else. Looks like my VSP plan will go to waste.

Ive been to Eyeopia for both both eyeglasses and contact lenses. It is the best optometry experience Ive ever had by far! Dr. Peter Andreakos is engaged, intelligent, and clearly enjoys working with people. He took the time to talk to me as an intelligent adult about my prescription and eye care needs (work on computers all day, need bifocals in a few years). They were careful to help me find glasses that worked best with my prescription but were also unique and complimented my face/eyes. (I get compliments on my modified cat-eyes all the time now!) They also helped me find the best contact lenses for particular needs (dry eyes, astigmatism). The staff are also engaged. conversational, and knowledgeable. They give a high level of personal service and remember me when I go back. Eyeopia is a refreshing experience. They make me WANT to go back to the optometrist because I always leave there feeling great. I can never go back to the beige, beige office of my former optometrist ever again.

The staff is professional and friendly and very helpful in selecting frames. It is a boutique, so you are paying the higher price for the frames; but out of the 4 pairs I have bought over the years, not one has been an issue. The one time I did have a problem, the staff was able to get it fixed without costing me a dime. The eye exam you get is worth the 5 stars alone. Very thorough and walks talks to you step-by-step what is going on, never fells rushed. I use to go to the cheap places that offer exams and glasses on the cheap, but after being a regular for years now I can never see myself going back to the cheaper places. My wife, who has been a customer here for years as well, did go someplace ease once, and quickly say that you do get what you pay for. Cheaper and quick is never better when it comes to your eyes.

I had my eyes examined at Eyeopia and have bought eyeglasses there. I loved it. It was the best eye exam I ever had, where the optometrist was friendly, personable and took his time to explain what he was doing and why. Then I went to pick out frames and they had the best hands on approach Ive ever seen. They had me try on glasses that fit my face and see if they fit, without a mirror. When we had a stack of about 20 comfortable frames, they pulled out the mirror, so that I can winnow down my selection further to two or three. After that, they asked what image I wanted to project and then (gasp) gave me their opinions. Then did the same thing in picking out sunglasses. I love my frames (both eyeglasses and sunglasses) and have recommended them to my friends and family. They all seemed equally satisfied.
