We brought our dog in to have a droopy, red eye looked at. On our first visit, they said he probably just got something in there, and flushed out his eyelid with some solution. I felt this was a standard, good first step. After a few days, his eye was not improving and possibly getting worse. We brought him back in and were told that he has abnormal eye lashes and they were causing this discomfort. Keep in mind, this is a 7 year old dog that had no issues in the past. How his abnormal eye lashes suddenly caused this was beyond me...They sedated him ($$$) and trimmed his eye lashes. After a few more days, his eye was still in the same condition. We went back in and were told that he would need some sort of eye lid reconstruction surgery. Being that this was going to cost thousands, I started doing a little research and also got a second opinion. After 5 to 10 minutes on Google, I was able to get a better diagnoses, that made more sense. Having an idea of what I thought it was (Horners Syndrome), I called a different vet, gave them the symptoms (didnt mention Horners, as I wanted to see what they would say) and instantly said, "This sounds like classic Horners, but wed have to take a look to be sure." It ended up being Horners and with some time, it all went away...To think, they wanted to put my dog (and my wallet) through an unnecessary surgery. I called to give them feedback, hoping they would listen and learn. I did have a decent conversation with them, but was told I would receive a call back when he had more time and we could discuss a refund for all the unnecessary treatment that was given...That call never came. Long story short, pay attention to what they are doing, I truly think they love animals and dont mean to harm, but whenever money is involved...watch out!

Weve just started bringing our puppies to see both Dr. Eric & Dr. Melinda after hearing rave reviews from some other members of our family. The facility and staff are truly one-of-a-kind; always so friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and no matter how small of a question or request, they take the time to listen and recommend the best options for the health and wellness of your animals. Both Dr. Eric & Dr. Melinda show a true passion for what they do and it is evident in their bedside manner with our dogs - they LOVE going to see the vet. Weve enrolled both of the dogs in their Puppy Wellness plan which, after much research, seems to be one of the best around. I would highly recommend looking into both plans they offer for your animal! Were looking forward to having the long-standing relationship with St. Paul Pet Hospital and their staff as our dogs continue to grow.

I cannot tell enough people how great my experience was with St.Paul Pet Hospital . We had to put our 15 year old husky/rottie down and were dreading the day but her pain was to much for her . I had called previous vets that we used and I have tried a lot of vet clinics with 4 dogs and 3 cats and they all wanted 600 to 800 to come out and do a euthanasia at home. Also other vets wanted us to be in the room and have people prepared to carry her out but I am so thankful I found St Paul Pet Hospital . Dr. Melinda Lecheler was so compassionate and handled everything that I couldnt handle . I am so greatful for the peaceful transition to the rainbow bridge . I am left with great memories and a new vet clinic where they actually care about the animals as if they were there own . Thank you !!!!!

I cannot overstate the incredible compassion and professionalism that this clinic provides for its humans and its patients. This place is amazing! After moving here last year, I chose this vet for my dog. We have only been there for vaccinations and such, until recently. My senior Mastiff contracted "an infection" (Ohios doctors words) while visiting family in Ohio. After returning home yesterday, I noticed something was still wrong. I brought my dog in at 11:30 AM and even though they close at 1:00 PM and we didnt have an appointment, they fit us in. The staff was outstanding and the vet gave me their cell number with orders to call the next day (Sunday!). My dog was treated and hopefully on the mend.

Our cat of 15 years became dramatically ill while we were away on vacation, and we had a family member bring him in. Wed never been seen at this clinic before, and yet we were treated with exceptional care when we rushed there straight from the airport. It felt like sitting with family, as we had to say goodbye to one of our dearest furry family members. Today they sent us flowers with condolences. Im completely touched and appreciative of the care Jen gave to our family and children. She was so sweet, gentle, and professionally remarkable in how she helped us grieve this loss. Our family will be lifelong clients of Saint Paul Pet from here on out.

As an experienced human having been owned by many dogs in my lifetime, I can honestly tell you this is bar none the best veterinary clinic I have ever been to. First, the lobby is comfy and welcoming and doesnt smell like a typical vet clinic. Second, their staff of Drs and techs and front desk are amazing. They are doing what they do for the honest love of animals and it means so much. I will always choose to trust my companions health and well being to a team of well educated, empathic and kind people over a cheap vet any day of the week. I highly recommend St Paul Pet hospital. Drs Eric, Hayley and Melinda are doing it right.

Dr. Ruhland was the first man that my Whippet Bombay ever trusted. She had a tough history as a rescue dog. His patience and kindness have given her a whole new attitude towards people overall and men specifically. Whippets are known to have a lot of dental issues and Dr. Eric was good at letting me know to be aware of it. I bring her in for regular cleanings. It is a lot more affordable to get her dentals done regularly and stay on top of it than deal with bigger issues down the road. I really appreciate the focus on preventative care. The staff is all fantastic, warm and welcoming. The clinic is beautiful!

I brought my very anxious dog there yesterday for some help with her separation anxiety after a move. I have never had this kind of service anywhere. Absolutely every single person was amazingly patient and pleasant. The staff was great with my dog, as well as easing my own comfort level about finding a new vet. Thank you everyone at the St Paul Pet Hospital for your amazing service and for going way beyond what you had to in order for both of us to feel welcomed! Jennifer (Maggies mommy)

I had a very young kitten that got extremely sick after only a week of having her. The St. Paul Pet team did everything and anything they could for her by going above and beyond anything I would have imagined a normal pet hospital to do. They not only worked tirelessly for my kitten, but I also received constant updates and was never left in the dark. I couldnt have asked for a better team of people that truly cared about the health and wellness of animals! They will forever be my vet team!
