Prior to going to the Rice Pet Clinic, I was taking my cat to a certain chain animal clinic that shall remain nameless, and my little Frank got awful treatment. This is my first pet, so the experience at that chain clinic really freaked him out (and me). They pulled out tufts of his hair, made Frank wait for hours for a simple exam, wouldnt let me be in the room for the exam, and kept telling me to go shopping in the big pet store associated with their clinic. My cat is very shy, never hisses or complains, and is a respectful little cat. When we decided to make the switch to this smaller, non-chain clinic with vets who have been practicing there for a long time, the difference was HUGE. Not only did my cat get his own "Cats Only Entrance," (there is a Dogs Only too... ), the vet was immediately in the room doing the exam, Frank felt comfortable and safe, and even started PURRING. The vet was very kind, answered all our questions, did the appropriate tests for Franks symptoms, and we left feeling so much better. RELIEF! Its such a quaint, lovely clinic and I highly, highly recommend it. The vet techs are also wonderful, and they really put a lot of love into the awful-ness of having to visit the doctor. Frank actually LIKES going there. On the visit where he had to stay for a few hours for a test that took that long, he came home smelling of a very light-scented perfume (maybe hand soap) around his neck and on his back, which indicated that he was getting LOTS of pets all day from the vet techs. He is totally in love with those girls. This is the place to go. There are a handful of other vet clinics in this area, but this is the ONLY one I would ever recommend. I got on Google+ just to do this and spread the word about this clinic. BEST. ANIMAL. CLINIC. EVER.

Ive had cats growing up my entire life but I got my first kitten as an adult and had to take him to his first vet appointment. I was nervous as he cried in his carrier scared by the cold and my diesel engines loudness, but when we got to Rice Pet Clinic he calmed down nicely. The staff was all great- they gave him treats to try and calm him down, even though he didnt eat them it was still appreciated. The vet techs and the vet were all very nice and gentle with my little buddy, even when he was being naughty and running around the room. If you get a rescue cat they give your first exam for free which was awesome. The staff gave me a folder of information to look over to ensure I was taking care of my cat nicely, and they also included a toy which he absolutely loves. I initially chose this place for its proximity to my apartment but I will go back because of their care and their follow up. I recommended this clinic to a my sister and my best friend who also love taking their pets here and have recommended them to others. Avoid chains and help support this awesome gem.

Our family (with 7 kids--now more into college than middle school, but still Pet Lovers!) has had a number of pets....and dealt with not only "expected" care-giving with them but "unexpected, very SAD" experiences. In EVERY INSTANCE the folks at Rice Pet Clinic have been not only compassionate (to us AND our pets) but also educational and helpful! Rice Pet Clinic is at least the 4th Vet Clinic we have experienced in the Twin Cities.....and well NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Raising/nurturing/caring for animals can be a handful...and these dedicated, compassionate folks are a Breath of Fresh Air! Keep up the Great Work, and Chris or I will be by with Mountain SOON!

In August Lyla, a rescue dog, joined our home. When we arrived to pick her up, the foster family told us Lyla had just begun to have diarrhea. We were inexperienced dog-owners and didnt know exactly where to begin. A phone call to Rice Pet Clinic & Hospital immediately reassured us that Lyla would be okay. Her first exam when beautifully and we have loved every minute of being pet parents. Each time we have a question we call the clinic and get exactly the answers and guidance we need. This is a caring, devoted clinic - we are lucky that we found them for our familys veterinary care.

Weve been seeing Dr. Julie for 5+ years - since we got our first of three dogs - and couldnt be happier with her advice and knowledge, and now the same goes for Dr. Tim. We have been through knee surgery, cherry eye, and various other illnesses and issues and have always gotten honest guidance and been presented all of the options and information to make informed decisions. In an emergency situation, there is always a way for them to see your pet the same day. Everyone in the clinic is friendly and knowledgeable and it is clear they really care about your pets.

Ive been going to Rice Pet Clinic for over 25 years - and have always had positive experiences. Unfortunately, I had to put one of my cats down. It was heart wrenching leaving my Baby with Dr Tim. Going home with an empty cat carrier was a very sad day for me. A few days after putting my cat down, I got a lovely sympathy card with a paw print from my Baby. That came at a time when I needed it the most. I adopted my cat when she was ~ 4 and put her down when she was 16. More cats since then, but I know they will always get good care when I go there.

Rice Pet Clinic provides excellent care for my dog. Dr. Tim is very thorough when it comes to explaining her medical condition and going over treatment options. Vets and staff all show caring and kindness. Also, the grooming at Rice Pet Clinic is terrific! The reason I give this glowing review is because of the way my dog reacts to going there. When we get to the corner of Rice and Cty. Rd C, her tail starts wagging like crazy. Once were out of the car, she practically drags me up the steps. I cant imagine taking her anywhere else.

What we have loved about our family members being treated by Dr. Tim is from the first time he sees them, in how he lights up with joy about our new family member, the challenges we face, and the love well enjoy. Each visit, Dr. Tim always knows our familys names, is genuinely interested in how theyre growing and learning new things, and how we need to protect them with certain vaccinations for where our activities will take us. We would be lost without Dr. Tim and his entire wonderful staff!!!

All staff at the Rice Pet Clinic was very helpful and genuine. They made a fantastic effort to ensure that both myself and my pet left fully satisfied. Dr. Tim was very personable and professional, he was willing to break down the complexities of the situation and appropriately explain what they meant to me as a pet owner. I would recommend taking your pet here for any type of issue or situation. The pricing is reasonable and the staff is great.
