Mark Goodell charges about 3 times more than average. High volume of repeat visits after first intial visits and long waits on appointment days(so your pet suffers) Does not do hands on physicals. Just looks very quickly without touching animal and prescribes medicine. Angie the receptionist has no empathetic communication skill or urgent understanding of medical conditions or value on what Mark has been treating your pet for. Mark provides no prescriptions or after care via phone if needed, he prefers in house visits which is $48.00 even after regiment has began. They suggest your pet to go else where while your pet is on Marks regiment if not convenient for them. The Fort Road Animal Clinic is not recommended for your pet if you want a primary vet, normal Vet prices, first time healing results and empathy from the staff.

Dr. Goodell has been my veterinarian for over 10 years, through several cats and dogs. I have always appreciate the quick in and out, so important for keeping our lives and pets sane! He is also sooo gentle and intuitive with pets. My pets are always very relaxed in his presence. I have a friend whose dog always needed to be muzzled by her previous vet, who didnt even blink when Dr. Goodell gave her vaccinations and an exam. Dr. Goodell always asks about our goals for our pets health- we have had several animals who were old and ended up dying. He never tried to guilt me into giving them additional treatment, but at the same time, let me guide the direction. He was extremely compassionate in these situations, both with us as owners, and also with our pets.

Absolutely LOVE Dr Mark and Stephanie!! They are the most caring and knowledgeable doggie health care providers that I have ever had experience with...and Ive dealt with my fair share. We moved to Forest lake, yet still drive to St Paul to see Dr Mark. I TOTALLY recommend this facility. Also, regarding the negative comments - Dr Mark is so knowledgeable that he doesnt always NEED to do expensive tests and such to determine some issues. He can tell just by a look or how your pet is feeling. I value no other persons advice more or trust anyone else more. Yep - I too am surprised with any negative reviews. Ive been going to Ft. Road and Dr. Mark for over 10 years and received nothing but caring, yet affordable treatment for my dogs and cats. Definitely better pricing than the larger multi-doc/service sites like those south of West Saint Paul. Ft. Road is busy, and sometimes the front staff is in a hurry on the phone, but I understand, and they try to deal with everyone best they can. Dr. Goodell is getting new vets in, (Dr. Deb for one) and they seem good - of course Im always partial to my "original doc" - but he needed some help, so I hope this just means that Ft. Rd. will be there for me for many years to come!

Im a bit surprised to see all of the negative feedback about Dr. Goodell! I have been taking my cat their for 3 years, and I have never been more pleased with vet, in my life! As someone else mentioned, he is a no non-sense, practical vet, who doesnt over charge--ever. I can tell that he cares about my cat and helped me work through some complicated behavior issues that ended up needing medication. Unfortunately, we just moved to another state and I will have to find a new vet. Dr. Goodell will be very hard to replace!!!

Fantastic vet. Really kind, knowledgeable and honest. She did what our cat needed to get him healthy again without all the guilt/pressure that Ive seen other vets use to get you to pay a lot on tests (to rule out extremely remote possibilities). Thank you! Theyre a rare find & I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND them. Love that its s home for so many cats too :-)

Dr. Goodell is a life saver, as he saved my three year old cat from having multiple urinary blockages. Dr. Goodell and his team have taken excellent care of my dog Sophie through the years. They are always courteous, kind, and knowledgeable about veterinary medicine. Their prices are very competitive and I never feel taken advantage of. I have referred several friends and family members to Fort Rd. and will continue to do so.

We have seen Dr. Goodell for over 15 years. He has cared for 3 of our cats and 2 of our dogs. His prices are more than reasonable. We sadly lost our five year old Golden to heart failure a few years ago. Dr. Goodell was there every step of the way helping us make good choices and keep our baby comfortable until the end.

Dr Goodell is a very good vet. When I had to bring my dog in to get a tumor removed. It only took a few hours & he was back home. But he did warn me that it might come back. My heart sunk,I hope it doesn't. But he did a very good job, I would highly recommend him.
