I took my newly adopted pup from the humane society in for her "free" wellness exam, since I live in the area, just happened to choose this one. The credentials stood out so I decided to choose this facility, although there were other options closer to my house. Upon walking in, they were having difficulty with the lights and power, apparently it had gone out 6 times that day already. So my appointment at 11:40.... became 12:26.... without anyone really informing me about the potential long wait time.... I know this is an extreme circumstance, so I dont hold this against them.... Who knows if it will ever happen again... but Im trying to hold down a rambunctious 9 month old monster puppy who jumps and barks at everything. It was a lot longer than I was ready to sit there for. I can chalk it up to being Friday the 13th, and just my luck, but being my first time there.... it was a little strange. They told me to bring in a fecal sample, and then swabbed her ears for any potential mites, which I figured would be a part of her "wellness exam".... but they ended up with a cost. Dont get me wrong, Ive had pets, Ive adopted, I know the routine, but every time a procedure is going to cost any money, I was always asked permission first. Its not that it was expensive, very reasonable I suppose, considering the free samples of flea and heart worm medication for your adopted pup.... but I just would have appreciated a "heads up" on any cost for any test before it was requested and carried out. The vets and everyone working behind the desk gave us loving attention, everyone was very pleasant and clearly loves their jobs, so Ill give it another try for sure. The Dr. that saw us was very knowledgable and confident in answering all of my questions, and was happy to answer them all, which I truly appreciated. It wasnt bad enough that I wont return, but thats my "2" rating.... too strange to tell how a normal routine exam would go off of todays happenings. Ill do another review when we go in next, hopefully under more "normal day" circumstances.

New vet. working at Brentwood. Stay far away from Nick Juleen. We have always taken our dogs to Brentwood and for the past 10 years never had a issue with anyone there until now. Nick Juleen was to see our 2 dogs for a routine check up. He is not only extremely arrogant but also very incompetent as well. When he was taking blood from our shih tzu he was struggling to do so. Poking her multiple times, pulling the needle in and out side to side back and forth. Still unable to draw blood he went to the other paw and did the same thing until he got just enough to fill a half vile meanwhile my shih tzu is yelping in pain. Never said anything except "must be a slow bleeder". I just thought it was a small dog therefore small veins are harder to find. Then, he did the same to our German Shepherd. And in the process of NOT being able to draw blood he stuck himself with the needle and jumped around the room like a little baby holding his finger and making a huge scene. I then escorted my 2 small children out of the room. He then tried again and failed to draw blood the whole time my shepherd is now very tense and scared. I then asked him "Are you sure you know what your doing?" He then THREW down the syringe and yelling at me and my wife told us how many degrees he had and if I didnt like the way he did things we should find another vet. So we are. If this is the type of vets they are now hiring at Brentwood, stay away, stay far away. I just hope for Brentwood that this was an isolated incident.

Care for your pet is good, unfortunately they have hidden fees! You ask for a quote for your appt the next day. You get to your appt, and you are prepared to pay the quote, what was done nothing more!!!! To find out as they go along they start charging you For things they do, however dont tell you that, and here your thinking of the quote number you were given, and you go to check out, and its double the price agreed on. And nothing extra was to be added!!!! I let them know I didnt agree on anything extra testing etc! That should have been asked of me before anything! If I didnt catch some of the hidden fees I would have been way out of price range to even pay!! However I was forced to have to pay for a test I didnt even ask for, and since it was already done I had to pay!!! I let them know I didnt ask for anything extra and why wasnt I asked each time they tried to add something? No answers just apologizing!!! So I am switching vets due to this!!! People have a right to be asked each time something is being added!!!! If you dont catch it you will when its time to pay and its to late!!! Unless you put up a fight, which I didnt. Shady to me! You then

We had a 13 year old coonhound who we had seeing another vet. I never switched vets because I felt it was important to stay with the vet that had known her history. In the end we could not put her down on Friday and our vet was only available for the following Monday and I did not want to wait any longer. I called Brentwood and we were able to make an appointment for that Saturday. Im not sure which Dr. we saw; I believe he was one of the twins. He was so caring, kind, and understanding. He had never met us or our coonhound he did not take it lightly that we were making a decision to put her to peace. He new we struggled with the decision and took the time to reassure us that we were making the right decision. I cant say enough about how well we were treated for meeting them for the first time in such an unfortunate situation. Im looking forward to a good relationship as we begin to take our other dog to the same facility.

I was greeted right when I walked through the door and everything was clean and well kept. My Jazzy wanted to play with every dog that walked through the door and no one seemed bothered by her loud and constant "talking". Jazzy was taken care of in a proper and trusting matter from the staff and Im glad they take the time to make sure the animals are calm and comfortable. Everything was affordable too, an eye exam and 16 week vaccine was very reasonable:) My only negative experience was Jazzy got into a sprawl in the lobby with another dog. But the vets checked her out to make sure she wasnt harmed (she wasnt) and were very sympathetic. I know they couldnt control what happened and Im just glad Jazzy wasnt hurt.

I have boarded my dog here several times, and never had a satisfactory experience. On two separate occasions, my dog was nearly unable to stand upright for several days. This was during the winter, so I dont know if the ground was cold, or some other factor came into play, but he would lick his paws and lay on the couch rather than storm through the house like usual. Typically when I pick him up, his blanket is covered in feces and urine as is he. This most recent time I picked him up, he was covered in feces, urine, mosquito bites, flea bites, and small cuts all over his body. Ive had to use them in the past because of short notice, but now Im done with this place. Not worth the "reasonable" $17 per day.
