I noticed that my former review was DELETED, obviously because I brought to light the unprofessional and outright rude way in which I was treated after I brought my newly adopted dog to Animal Care Clinic. But Im more than happy to share my unpleasant experience once again because these reviews really shouldnt be manipulated to a positive bias by the business owners: Back in February, I adopted my dog from TLC Animal Shelter. She had been to the Animal Care Clinic previously for some surgeries and upon adoption, we were offered a free check up. Within the first few minutes of seeing Dr. Hoyt, she told me that she had thought about adopting this dog herself, but didnt want to surprise her husband with a new dog when he came back from a business trip. Once she began to examine the dog, she noticed that my new pup had a heart murmur, which is a potential symptom of heart disease. I had only just lost my two year old dog to leukemia a month earlier, so I was absolutely devastated to hear this. Shocked and upset, I immediately began crying. My mother asked Dr. Hoyt to go into further explanation about her condition. She was extremely vague and said the only way to find out if it was in fact heart disease was a $500 ultrasound. Shell-shocked, I had no words and apparently, Dr. Hoyt had no time, patience, or bedside manner for my situation, as she suggested that I could, "always take her back to the shelter." (seriously) My feeling was that her motivation was to either squeeze $500 dollars out of me because I was so freaked out, or hope that I would take the dog back to the shelter and get a great dog out of it. Immediately after I left the Animal Care Clinic, I went to my own vet. She told me that my new girl had a grade 2 heart murmur, recommended some daily supplements, said wed just continue to monitor her and she didnt feel that a $500 ultrasound was necessary at the time being. Overall, during my visit to the Animal Care Clinic I feel I was treated callously with self-serving motivations in mind.

Ive been coming to this clinic for several years. My family has always seen Dr. OBrien with our family dogs. We always loved Dr. OBrien because he was always very gentle with the way he handled your pet and handled us as owners. Hes very optimistic and straight-forward about explaining things to you as an owner. In the events where we had to put some of our animals down, Dr OBrien was very sweet and gave the extra effort to comfort us with our decision. He even sends sympathy cards to you after the fact. If my experience were only with Dr. OBrien, I would give this clinic a 5-star rating. However, I became a cat owner for the first time and ran into a few troubles with my kitty. The receptionist told me that I should see the cat specialist, Dr. Endebak. While I acknowledge that Dr. Endebak is a very talented and intelligent veterinarian, she often came across as condescending to me when explaining my cats condition. At one point, I felt like she was making me feel guilty about my cats issues when there was no way for me to know my cat had them! (Just for clarification, my cat had been to regular check-ups and had shots before the troubles, so its not like I just randomly brought my cat in when I ran into problems). Theres also been a lot of communication problems when it came to my cats prescriptions-- did she call them in, are they going to call me when its done, why does my prescription say one dosage when you wrote a different dosage on my appointment sheet. I love this clinic, I love Dr. OBrien, but Im not a fan of the other vets in his practice. So if you choose this clinic for your cat or dog, ask to see Dr. OBrien. If you have smaller pets, (birds, rodents, reptiles), you might want to check elsewhere because theres no small animal specialist here.

Gosh, I dont know where to begin,... It all started in 1988 when we moved out here (to the "sticks")... Dr. Ed OBrien was head vet at the time, and was amazing! My parents trusted him with their loved pets (I was only 6). I grew up taking all of the family pets to ACC, and was never dissatisfied. The family pets, and now my own pets, have had some problems as pets tend to have, but ACC has always fixed them up! After their surgeries, they always recovered amazing! Ive heard some horror stories of local vets doing surgeries pets didnt need, or basically the pet having issues after a surgery, and this has NEVER been the case with ACC. My pets always came out happy, healthy, and home quickly! We have 2 senior german shepherds, and 2 senior Maine coon cats, that are current clients of ACC and I love these furr-babies with all my heart. I would not think twice to bring them to the lovely lady doctors there during a regular visit, emergency, or surgery! The clinic is always Clean, and theres never a long wait time.. and if there is -- its because of an emergency, and its completely understandable! :) I intend to be a life-long customer of ACC! Love their staff, and am very happy my parents set the way for an AMAZING vet when I was just a kiddo! :)

My first visit to Vets, only dog i have ever owned. Dog swallowed some fabric and was concerned. It felt like I was buying a car, every service had a price tag..."its $49 for this, its $180 for that...fine...but I paid $180+ for an Xray, then I was told that I had to pay ANOTHER $180 for a radiologist to read it...Vets bombarded me with "technical" terms...not sure what that meant...OK, Vet wanted me back next day to see how dog is feeling.......Vet suggested either one of 2 procedures....each costing over $150? Then was upset when i said Id wait it out , and see what happens....so guess what, i was given and charged for another medication, PLUS the VISIT....another $150!!!...Dog was still not well, so took him to a LEMONT facility that has been there 30yrs...looked and READ the $180 XRAYS, put on some gloves and pulled out a clump of something from his butt! DOG IS BACK TO NORMAL. Huh, the other place was talking surgery, berrium, jeez who knows what else!...and oh Xrays here are $60...not $180! Plus they have a competent person who is able to read them! What a novel idea....Im sure this place has their loyal customers, but as a first timer, new to this.....Go someplace else....

I have been going to ACC since they opened and was first introduced to Dr. Obrien and his staff. I have had all my dogs treated there with nothing but kind and wonderful doctors. The latest my Izzy was seen by Dr. Endebak and she immediately knew something was seriously wrong and sent us to the emergency vet in Aurora so they could do the ultrasound that was needed. She called ahead to make sure we could get in. Needless to say there was a problem with her heart and without the quick care that she gave us my Izzy would not have survived. Dr. Obrien and his staff have always been great and we have gone through 5 dogs together and they are now taking care of my current two. I would not trust any others with the care of my dogs other than ACC and I cant say enough about them. They are truly amazing and I look forward to many more years and many more dogs with them.
