I took my cat in to the vet today. He is an outdoor cat, most of the time, and had a wounded tail. No broken bones or fractures. The vet, did a quick, when I say quick I mean QUICK check up, and right after rubbing Lucas (My Cat) down and pretending to check his heart beat (you may ask how I know this, well I just happen to know that a heart beat should be checked for 10-15 seconds and then multiplied by 4 over the minute) he then said, "this check up will be $50." Literally what he did which is something I do daily to see if I notice any lumps near his back or stomach since he is outside so much, was rub all of the usual places on his body, his tail, ears, stomach. And when I mentioned he was throwing up clear liquid and peeing semi-brown he quickly said, "it will also be $100 if you want X-rays." Instead of being more relaxed and making us feel comfortable. He comes back with one set of X-rays which is just for his wounded tail. I was hoping to see his stomach too since I brought up vomiting and semi-brown pee. All he came out with was the tail and then he said his antibiotics will cost "$50" and THAT WAS IT. No explanation, he mentioned we could keep the tail clean or they can clean it for us if they put him under anesthesia and clean it out there for another fee. WHICH he didnt tell me the fee amount. The first time I brought Lucas here he was only 3 months and received his initial set of shots for which the vet or vet tech POKED through the skin! And then proceeded to scoff because she had to make a new vaccine for Lucas. I cant believe it. I am heart broken, this is my best friend and because of lazy work I may lose my cat. YES I WILL BE TAKING HIM TO A DIFFERENT VET TOMORROW. After falling $210 short for someone to tell me what I already knew!

First time will be my last time here. The Recpetionsit I had sounded like the one from Monsters Inc. and treated me like I was an idiot by talking down to me. I had called in 3 times to verify my cats surgery appt. I was very nervous and extremely annoyed when I had to go over everything AGAIN after I had spoke to someone who said they were creating an account for me. Then after 20 minutes of the same paperwork I had already done when I declined the blood work for my pet (because I couldnt bear the extra expense at this time) the lady has the NERVE to make the comment that her puppy had died here because she too declined the blood work. Like thank you so much for really not making me feel good about this. Then the guy I had in the exam room was just cold and didnt act like he cared at all about my cat just oh yeah okay well we will go over this and that and the other when you pick him up. Fast forward I call back after the surgery time the next day and the girl who I spoke to on the phone kept calling my cat a girl even though I had corrected her twice making me nervous about if she even had the right cat. I asked to speak to a Vet or someone higher up and it was literally just a " Your cat is okay". I had to probe for information because I had assumed my cat may have ear mites developing and all I got was a" Yup - he has ear mites." So i go pick him up after two night here for his declaw/ neuter and no one goes over anything with me. Just checkout and take my animal. The service was SO COLD AND JUST NON CARING during this visit I highly doubt i will go back. I have been to many other vets from IL- WI area and never had such a non caring attitude from a vets office before. We will see how my cat continues to heal up.

This place will kill your loving pet...The reason I say this is because when I brought my dog who was 3 years old at the time he was sick and wasnt eating so when I brought him they said it was a tumor and that he needed surgery right away to remove it and that its best for him to also get neutered,I said okay do it and that it was going to cost $800 dollars. Then when my dog simba got the thing removed later they said oh your dog had a fungal infection but they said well at least your dog is neutered. Later he began to to eat and recover from his surgery but then a few months he began getting sick started to lose weight and not eat and then his tongue and gums got white and we took him to this doctor where we live thats closer and they said hes anemic and that he had a lot of white blood cells and we ask how it happen and that maybe the surgery caused a traumatic experience or they did something wrong well a few days later my dog ended up passing away last night on the way to the hospital. Thanks to St. Paul my dog is now dead never again will I bring any of my other pets they clearly dont know how to do their job and are careless and just want peoples money. R.I.P Simba 1/3/13-6/19/17

I dont know about the negative reviews. My wife and I are very intelligent people, we ask plenty of questions and even had second and third opinions for one of our dogs in respect to cancer. We always received factual answers and compassionate care. We coordinated surgical care for one of our dogs that had to have a leg removed due to bone cancer. Some places wanted to give Chemo, Radiation and plenty of costly and drawn out treatment strategies that had questionable success rates. St Pauls recommended the the approach that removed the leg, but also removed the cancer. Our 10 year old athletic dog had one leg removed, became a tripod and went on for about 4 more healthy years. Check backs every 6 months. At 14, this large breed mix finally came back with a very virulent cancer and it was too far gone. A great life for him post operation, even after having his leg removed. Its a blue collar clinic, not a boutique. The staff really cares. I could go on even more about how compassionate they are, how they helped some of our other animals....enough to fill a few pages.

I brought my cats in for a teeth cleaning. One was healthy, but unknown to me, one was not. They both had blood work done prior to the teeth cleaning. After the sick one was administered pre-anesthesia, she went into cardiac arrest and had to be euthanized. Two months later I asked for the lab work. She had high levels of protein, creatinin and a high ALT level. All of these things indicate that she had a problem, such as liver disease, before the procedure - BUT NO ONE READ THE LAB REPORT. They wrote on the records that the elevations were "mild" and that they had discussed this with me - FALSE. A conversation NEVER occurred - so they LIED. Plus, after I asked for a necropsy, they put the name of the cat that was still alive on the necropsy report - INCOMPETENT. Avoid this place if you love your animals. I think the vets were remorseful - but it doesnt do a whole lot of good if they cant deal with anything more complicated than a simple checkup. I am thinking seriously of reporting them to the state of Wisconsin - because they need to clean up their act.
