Going to the dentist has always been a terrifying experience since I was nine years old when I chipped my newly developed permanent tooth. since then I have had 3 root canals and 5 different crowns. I have visited dentist in China and Mid west America, but it wasnt until I moved to New York city that my perception of dentist started to change when I found Preferred Dental Care (PDC). Immediately after I moved to NYC, I frantically searched the internet and read review after review in order to find a good dentist. I went to a few places to compare prices and services. PDC is a place that checks your insurance coverage, tells you about your co-pay and consults options with you. All this is done before the dental services to make sure that there is no surprises as far as pricing. I feel like the people who work at PDC are on my side and will negotiate with my insurance company to maximize the benefit. They also provide very low prices that are not covered in the insurance like tooth whitening treatments. I got zoom and a take home kit at the price that would normally pay for just the kit. I am obsessed with having a great smile but I have a front tooth that is fake. I have gotten 5 different crowns in oder to maintain the natural look. I hated going to the dentist each time and hearing the drilling, feeling the pressure and pain, and spitting out blood. DR. Lee is very gentle, crafty, and most importantly explains what she was doing each step of the way, so that I always know what to expect. So far I have not experienced the discomfort that I have experienced with my previous dentist. My worst nightmare is that I would break my crown and have a missing front tooth. It must have been Murphys law since I have porcelain jacket from PDC, I have chipped it twice. No matter if it was weekend or holiday , when I told PDC it was en emergency they made sure that I was seen on that same day that I called. The best part is that I got my crowned fixed both time and they were both free of charge! I really feel that PDC really takes care of me as if I was a family member. Now I get everything there, including tooth brushes, gel, and advise on how to maintain white teeth, healthy gums, and tips to the best shops, hair salons and restaurants because I talk up a storm each time I am waiting for the Dentist. I feel like I am really good friends with everyone at the office. Maybe thats the reason why I keep traveling from Manhattan to Queens to get my dental care.

Preferred Dental Care Flushing I saw Dr Shilpa Trivedi for my initial evaluation and to get a treatment plan. She was knowledgeable, matter-of-fact as well as kind and considerate. I remember other dentists who would take x-rays, have a look and then proceed to blame me for any bad condition of my teeth. Dr Trivedi was all about solutions - heres what there is, these are your options, here is Dr Trivedis professional recommendation. No blame, no criticism, it was all about the best way to care for my teeth. I left the office feeling like I had gotten a good solution tp handle my teeth. My first step was deep cleaning in two parts, half of my mouth in visit one, the other half on the next visit. Dr Mohammed did the cleaning and he was excellent. He numbed my mouth enough so that I was not in pain but not so much to lose feeling in my face (you know - where you cant speak properly and it feels lke youre drooling). Took his time, did a thorough job, told me what was happening each on each step but he was not chatty, not a bunch of blah blah in an effort to be interesting. Just smooth professionalism with me following each step of the procedure. Later, when I went hone, I had minor tenderness in my mouth from the deep cleaning and the next day I was fine. This was not a "good luck" day with Dr Mohammed as my next visit, for a deep cleaning on the other side of my mouth, went off the same way - smooth frienly informative service, no extra medication and no undue discomfort. If a deep cleaning can be described as a good experience, then that is what Dr Mohammed delivered - twice! As usual, the receptionist and everyone I saw were smiling happy people ready to assist me - and when people are smiling at you it is only natural to smile back. Preferred Dental Care, the Flushing location, is cheerful, totally competent and in good communication so I found out what I needed to know and got my teeth cared for efficiently and pleasantly. Very very highly recommended and Ill be going back To Preferred Dental Care.

Avoid Avoid Avoid!!! If you want the truth about this place please read... Wish I could give them 0. I moved and needed a dentist, Was going through a change of insurance which I explained to them ahead of time, Once the appointment is finished they tell me they will not accept my insurance that is due to take effect next month. I said thats alright (even though I was mad because I explained it before) and that I would just try to find another dental provider that would accept my insurance, This lady goes over a piece of paper and says its going to cost me close to $3500 out of pocket AND supposedly revealing that I had not one but TWO cavities... I said I am not paying out of pocket, I cannot afford that nor am I paying monthly to do so, I said I would think it over and get back to them, but they insisted I make an appointment to get started on my procedures, I highly recommend people to stay away from this place they are very pushy, Heres where it gets interesting... Some personal matters occurred and I moved back out of state, Upon finding another dentist when I returned (a very good one in fact with tons of reviews and my own family members recommending them) Guess what? I had no cavities at all... None not even a tiny one, This place will try and screw you, and apparently go as low as drilling unnecessary holes in your teeth, God only knows what they will put children through at the expense of their parents, extremely sad and shady. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

I see that they come here and write reviews themselves. The reviews on yelp are much different!! Do not come to this business. They are a bunch of money hungry weirdos. They call you on unlisted numbers at odd times of the day 7 days a week just to schedule a dental cleaning. You think they care about the health of their customer? Nope. They are just calling to make sure they make their money. I have went here for several years, I have no idea why. No family atomsphere at this office whatsoever. I traveled too far to be treated so horribly. Anytime I needed specialist work, whether it be an oral surgeon or endodontist... I never used the people they had within their office, I always went elsewhere. Each time I had to do this preffered would act strange, when I would ask for xrays or whatever information I had to send to the specialist. They would end up asking me why I didnt get the work done at their office. You really think I will pay out of my pocket to get the work done at your office, when I can find a great specialist within my network? You are a large dental office and you tell me you dont have different specialists that are accepted by your costumers? Please guys do not schedule any appointments here. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.
