Northern river view is a horrible facility. I was visiting a family member and in the recreation room.(With no recreation activities available by the way that is required by the law) a 98 year old man was sitting in a stretcher/reclining chair the man seemed to have dementia and told me has just broken his hip. He had a disgusting wound on his leg that was horribly discolored and looked infected that should have been bandaged in my opinion. The man and other residents were left in the room unattended for a very long time since I had been there for an hour and half. Well the 98 year old man tried to get up from his chair and I kept telling him he should not. I ran to get a nurse and no one came or seemed to care. Finally asked someone again that looked like a nurse in the hospital and she ran to get the mans nurse instead of helping with the man right away.And as the nurses came in the man tried to get up and fell to the floor with his wounded limp leg propped backward. It looked like the fall hurt terribly. But the nurses grabbed him off the floor and kind of just dropped back on his chair. Then the nurses fought loudly in front of me and another guest at the hospital as to whos fault the fall was. I was so disgusted with their care for these poor people and I plan to file a formal complaint this is not how people should be treated. If this is how care is while I was there I can not imagine how patients are treated while guests arent here. Dont send your family member here this place is horrible. Then to top it off my family member is required to wear an oxgeen tank at all times and when we checked the tank their was no oxygeen in the tank. The food is also horrible here. Do yourself a favor and look else where like hellen hayes which is right down the street. -march 22, 2010 at 3:30 p.m.

Do not expect a good experience at this nursing home , the aids that handle the patients on a day to day basis have horrible attitudes and do not care about the people they are supposed to care about.

Horrible. The customer care is awful and to deal with Howard Stein is a joke and they will not return phone calls.
