Run like hell, I cant even rate this place because they are horrible. I was told I needed a filling and told the nurse and Doctor Kapur I was allergic to lidocaine. She claimed I didnt know what I was talking about because ofcourse I dont know my own body. Then I was prepped for a crown by Dr. Kapur, she didnt even ask me if she had my permission to do so, because I would have declined and gotten a second opinion. Now I have to find another dentist because she took matters into her own hands. I confronted her and she treated me just like you would of family, she walked away and began to text on her phone. What professional does that? What family centered practice is that disrespectful? Now onto the staff- the staff is more concerned with jumping from one patient to the next and gossiping that they hurry up to get the work done and dont treat clients like people. I was bleeding because the dentist shaved my tooth and gums down. The dental assistants only concern was quickly getting the tools cleaned and put away. So I had to prompt her to replace the water in my cup as I rinsed a half dozen times. It was only after the assistant shoved the mold in my mouth that I knew I had crown prep completed and I asked her to get the doctor, she asked why like an idiot. During the procedure she and Dr. Kapur gossiped about a staff member - just incredulous. I also want to point out that you should be suspicious about who is posting under Google user because the CT Family Dental team is less than competent. In fact they cant even figure out how to pronounce a simple last name OR even better ask the patient how to pronounce their name. Last what adds more fuel to my legal case is that the hygienist did mention that Dr. Kapur would make sure to give me a crown and someone else posted the same experience. Run like hell if you are reading this, they only got one star because that is the lowest rating they can get.

Whatever you do, I can only advise you NOT TO GO THERE!They told me that I need a periodontal scaling, so I asked the nurse how much it is. She called my insurance and got back, saying that its not covered and I will have to pay $175 for the service and had me sign some paper (without any prices quoted etc.). A couple weeks later I got a bill for $525... apparently, the nurse "forgot" to mention that its $175 for each "quarter", and the work was done on three quarters. If anyone knows if there are legal steps I can take to contest this, please let me know!Anyway, the fun continues: At this visit they also told me that I need two fillings, and since it was supposedly impossible to do it right away, I had to schedule another appointment (of course that was before I knew about the $525 bill...).So I came back for another appointment, and the dentist asked me right away if we wanna get started with putting in my crown... "What crown???"... "well, you also need a crown"... nobody told me about that at my first visit!I declined the crown, but then had three fillings done (not two, as mentioned during my first visit). After a couple days it started to HURT LIKE HELL for days and days and days. Ive had more than 10 fillings done in Austria, but that never happened before. I called, but they only told me this is perfectly normal... great!Well, bottom line: I FEEL SCAMMED! In my opinion, this is the most horrible place you can find! They give you wrong and incomplete information, and then blame it on you ...and make you pay big time! Update: Now they also sent me a late invoice and charged late fees, even though they never sent a bill before! This must be unlawful, and if anyone can recommend a good lawyer to deal with places like this let me know.

My first trip to Collegetown Dental was very positive, but Ive been back five times and have found there to be very inconsistent customer service. The last time I went my appointment began 45 minutes late and everyone except my poor dental hygienist seemed to be in a terrible mood. The dentist marched into my room, couldnt have looked in my mouth more than 20 seconds before she deemed my uninsured mouth not worth her time. I was subsequently charged $35 for the "exam." (Thats a rate of $6,300/hr, by the way.) If it wasnt for the kind and apologetic hygienist, I would have been really mad.

I cleaned my teeth there and the doctor persuaded me to do a filling. I didnt expect he used amalgam without telling me any detail. I saw two other dentists later and they told me the filling was terrible and almost hurt my nerve. After a month I had serious toothache and ended up with a root canal treatment. My only advice is never go there. They waste your money and cause more pain.

The staff at Collegetown Dental Associates is extremely friendly and competent. I hadnt been to the dentist in a really long time, but the technician was extremely nice and understanding. They did a very thorough job and my teeth felt great afterward. Highly recommended!
