I have been told that I am a silly old woman for years now. Well, I lived up to that name last year when I took in a Great Dane. At first, I was just going to foster him, but I fell in love and decided to keep him. It was only a few months after I decided to keep him, that I fell and really injured my hip. When the big guy got sick a few weeks ago, I was panicking. When I could not even get through the phone lines to my normal vet, I asked around and a friend at our dog park told me that Downtown Vet does house calls. When I called, they confirmed and set up a visit. Dr. Ficarra was so helpful and got my big boy back to his healthy state! Thank you so much Downtown Vet Clinic!

Janet and the DVC team were great with me and Tony, my malshi mix puppy. I went back and forth with my decision to have him neutered, they never pressured me. Janet gave me all the information I needed to know, then when the day came it was a great experience... at least for me. : ) Tony recovered just fine and I want to thank everyone at DVC for all their great care and support. Janet even told me how to get a coupon to help me save money. They never charge for anything without my permission and their prices are the most reasonable I have found yet. To me, they are the best Vet in NYC!

I have trusted Dr. Ficarra to care for my cats for over 15 years. I first met her before she had her own clinic, when she was filling in for my previous vet. My friends cat had stopped eating and had nearly starved herself to death. Dr. Ficarra gave the cat fluids and explained to us how to force-feed her baby food. It was touch and go for awhile, but with Dr. Ficarras help we were able bring that cat back from the brink of death, and she went on to live a long and healthy life. Dr. Ficarra has been my vet ever since, and I would never take my cats to any other vet.

Although I live over an hour away in Westchester, I have been taking my cats to the Downtown Vet Clinic since 1997. I continue to be impressed by Dr. Ficarras formidable knowledge of veterinary medicine, compassion towards animals and overall fantastic personality. The staff are also friendly, caring, professional and organized. Dr. Ficarra provides thorough exams, reasonable fees and best of all, sets your mind at ease that your companion is receiving the best care possible. I highly recommend her clinic.

So one day I walk outside my house, and there sits this little puppy. I had no clue of what to do. I remember a friend used to work at Downtown Veterinary Clinic, so I decided to bring the little guy there. I never had the intention of keeping him, but when they told me hes as healthy as could be, and gave him all his shots, I decided to keep him, and now were the best of friends. I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone at that pet clinic, cause they took the best care of me and the little guy.

My yorkie had her first visit with Dr Ficarra today. She had an ear infection. Dr. Ficarra was really gentle when cleaning ears, and very thorough in her exam. The prices were better than any other place Ive been in NYC, and the doctor spent 45 minutes with my dog. She answered all of my questions and didnt pressure for me to spend extra money on expensive medicines and treatments that my dog doesnt need. Im so happy to have found a dr that I like!

I took my kitten into the Downtown Vet Clinic because she kept throwing up and I thought that something bad was really bad. When I went in they were able to take her right away. They were able to give her some kind of medicine and said within the next couple of hours she would be ok. The vet was so friendly and understanding how scared I was for my kitten. I was very upset to hear Dr. Loo was no longer working here, but Dr. Franco was just as wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about Yorkie, took her time evaluating Bellas back paw and asked lots of questions. Thankfully nothing was wrong! It is reassuring to see a vet who cares about my pups best interest and overall health. Highly recommended!

The office lacks organization as we were almost charged for a test already administered instead of a more comprehensive one. The doctor no longer seems passionate about what she does as, after two rounds of tests, she told us our cat was "fine" and a second opinion showed she had cancer. I wish wed switched vets sooner

I just got a new puppy and I needed to find a vet and I know someone that takes there dog to Downtown Vet Clinic, so I thought it would be perfect. When I went in I was so happy that my puppy got along with the staff. He got a clean bill of health and now I give Downtown Vet Clinic a clean bill of health as well.

Great neighborhood vet. I like working with a solo practitioner, as opposed to a corporation. Most vet clinics are owned by corporations these days. Dr. Janet Ficarra is very accessible and takes great care of my pets. Office is very clean. She and her staff are very pleasant.

I had to take my black lab in to the Downtown Vet Clinic for his 6 month check up. The vet was so friendly great with my dog. The office is nice and very clean. Dougie loves to go there and get taken care of. Thank you for making him feel so at home.

Great neighborhood solo practitioner. Very accessible and reliable, which is a rare find in Manhattan these days. Highly recommend her to pet owners want top care from a very knowledgeable vet who will take the time to answer all of your questions.

When I got my little puppy, I knew exactly where to go to get all her puppy shots, and to get her "fixed". Downtown Veterinary Clinic is the only place to go for all your pets health needs. If I were an animal, Id hope my owners would take me there!

The best thing about Downtown Vet Clinic is that they do house calls. I cant always leave the house and its great that they can come to me. The people are so kind and caring. Its a beautiful and wonderful place for your pets!

They are the most honest excellent people. DR. Ficarra is super reliable, her staff are super nice. I went through many clinics in NYC, but I am happy that I do not have to search for the vet any more. Highly recommended.

Its funny how all these positive reviews appeared in the last 6 weeks or so.... I havent been since she moved but I found Dr Ficarro bed side manner really odd and unorganized. Pricing is what you expect in this area
