Dr. Buchoff butchered my cats mouth. It was my first visit with him. I came all the way from Scranton for holistic pet care. He told me my cat needed two teeth pulled and he could do it today. Two teeth turned into six. Gave the cat back and said he did not need to see him again unless there was a problem, which I thought as odd. There was a huge problem. The cat was in agony. Pawing at his face. I drove 2 hourse back to the vet. Dr. Buchoff did not even look at him. Another vet gave him drugs and did not even look in his mouth. The drugs did not help and the cat was worse. I called the vet and asked if maybe the stitches were bothering him. They said they did not use stitches. I asked about the X-rays and they said they did not have dental x-ray equipment but they will soon. What?! Soon?! I immediately looked for a dental specialist and found one in the Poconos. He confirmed that cat was in horrible shape. Broken teeth from the extractions. Large gaping holes where it should have been stitched . Roots that were left in and to top it off a piece of the cats bone was sticking through the jaw. I have photographs from the surgery, before and after. It took 2,600.00 of microsurgery to repair the damage. Dr. Buchoff is dangerous. It as like a 5 year old pulled out my cats teeth. Spare yourself a potential emotional and financial tragedy and find another vet.

Im a firm believer in holistic medicine and organic living; unfortunately, in this practice I dont feel the doctor has any real medical expertise nor effective holistic treatments. I brought my 2 year old chihuahua papillon mix to holistic petcare over a 3 week period as my dog was coughing and also crying while rubbing his ears. Two visits and $300 later I was sent home with a tube of hydrocortisone cream and a still suffering dog. The very next day after seeing Dr Buchoff I took my dog for a second opinion at a different animal hospital and the doctor showed me that inside of my dogs ears were still badly infected and advised me I should begin treatment for an upper respiratory infection as well. The doctor was shocked that I had been seeing a vet prior as my poor baby still had so many problems going on. Im not sure whether Dr Buchoff is deliberately deceitful to create revenue for his business or really just unskilled, but in either case our beloved companions deserve better. This practice will happily charge your credit card and send you home with a sick animal; their negligence is unacceptable in a profession that requires honesty and aptitude when caring for animals in need. I have since switched to Clifton Ave Animal Hospital and my fur baby is finally feeling better.

Dr. Buchoff has become one of the most trusted and respected holistic veterinarians in the Northeast, and for good reason. He offers a balanced approach to his treatments by minimizing therapeutic drugs and their side effects, in favor of utilizing the bodys natural ability to heal itself. Dr. Buchoff recommends high quality supplements, acupuncture therapy and blood titers, as opposed to vaccinations, chemical parasite preventatives and antibiotics. He understands there is a need for drug therapy in certain cases, but focuses on prevention and wellness first. Dr. Buchoff also has some strong opinions on diet. He feels that a raw diet of meat and vegetables is best for both dogs and cats. I dont agree completely, but I see his point. My concern would be parasites and bacteria issues from raw meat. I do agree that pet foods are a MAJOR cause of illness in our pets, and fresh ingredients and supplements are a much healthier alternative. Overall, I am happy to entrust my dogs to Dr. Buchoffs care!

Beware...you’ve been warned! It may be good for preventative care (supplements, chiropractic adjustments, etc), however, this is not the place to go for normal vet care. The office is disorganized and there is no proactive preparedness for appointments based on medical history (and Im referring to tests and therapies done previously by THIS office), which is horrible! This might be a good choice for alternative treatments for terminal diseases (like cancer), but this practice will no longer be my choice for routine vet care after the negligent treatment that my dog received for ailments that are easily treatable. Now these minor ailments have become major issues and it’s not because she wasn’t seen by a vet (I’ve taken her several times over the past couple of months and she has been a patient there for over 2 years). It is quite simply because the vet did not treat her appropriately and the office is a hot mess!

Would give a 0 if possible. They said they take reptiles here, so i brought my bearded dragon. The doctor had absolutely no clue what he was talking about. Entirely no clue, I am actually really upset that I had even payed the 80$ for the visit. As nothing was resolved and no diagnosis was given. It actually aggravated me how little he knew about reptiles and their care. My animal is clearly sick and he said he just needs to put on some weight. He said maybe if he doesnt improve we can come and get some bloodwork done. Why wasnt blood work done then? So I can come pay for another visit, and nothing will be done again? I am extremely upset with the visit I had, and can tell any reptile owners out there they can get more information online than this guy can give you. I strongly urge all reptile owners to find an experienced vet for there pet as this is not one.

Dr.B is the best!!. My 14 year old dog was diagnosed with an aggresive cancer hemangiosarcoma of the skin. I took him to specialists at UPENN and Oradell oncologists to get multiple opinions and see his options for treatment. All said he had maybe a month to live , Oradell didnt even attempt to treat him just said make him comfortable and let him die. Dr.B has offered multiple therapies, herbs, supplements for my dog and a month later he has never been better, he has tons of energy a healthy appetite and his tumors are even shrinking!!!! Dr.B is always around of you have questions or want to run things by him. If you care about your baby dont waste tons of money at conventional Western vets they dont know anything ! And as always DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! NO ONE KNOWS YOUR FURBABY BETTER THAN YOU!

Dr. Buchoff knows his profession. Dr. Buchoff and his staff took care of two of our doggies. Our male had kidney failure. NY Vet Hospital told us after having him a week that he would live a few weeks to a month or so and heres a bag of diet food. "Enjoy your time with him." We brought him to see Dr. Buchoff. Under Dr. Bs care he stayed with us another 18 months. Our female lived a couple years past Duke till she was 17. Tara had lyme disease and the only prescription was an anti biotic. Dr B had her on a regimine of supplements to help her contend with the rest of getting old. When the time came for Duke and Tara to leave us, Dr B came to our home. This is a Vet that cares. I trust him completely.
