Definitely a strange experience. Dr. Fishkin did a cursory cleaning (which was violent, to say the least), then literally looked at my x-rays for no more than 2 seconds before saying I had 3 cavities. Shes either a genius, or trying to compensate for her lack of clientele. She pointed at absolutely nothing discernible on the computer screen when I leaned in to look, and remarked that she "went to school for a very long time". Not the most professional dentist Ive ever met. I allowed her to do the fillings because Im not a dentist (although I also went to school for a "very long time" in a field of medicine, so Im not completely incapable of interpreting an x-ray if it was adequately explained to me) but Im left with a sour taste in my mouth that she wasnt being completely honest about the status of my teeth. Mind you that in the background another patient was yelling, "I have more cavities since last time? Ive been flossing 3x a day!". She also said all my previous fillings may need to be replaced, and talked about root canals and all sorts of stuff. Ive been extremely careful with my teeth for at least a decade and have not needed any fillings or other procedures in many years. Im not sure I trust her, and therefore I probably wont return. Her staff was very sweet, however.

I dont understand peoples problem with Dr. Fishkin. I had a great experience. I had broken my front two teeth years ago and was congenitally missing my right lateral incisor - so basically, the whole front of my smile was messed up. First of all, most dentists want to do a deep cleaning, its because most people dont brush their teeth enough. Second of all, I have never been to a dentists office that didnt have pictures of gum disease in the office. Its standard and I dont even know why that would be something to complain about in a DENTISTS office. Anyway, she prepared my teeth for the crowns and then had the lab make me this fabulous bridge. She always numbed me when I asked for it, and she was pretty gentle with me - cleanings are never pleasant, but the actual work she did was great. I only needed three visits for her to prep my teeth and then place the crown, and when I felt my bite was off, I went back to her office two days later and she adjusted it for me so its perfect now. She does beautiful cosmetic work and for much less than most of these cosmetic dentists in New York are charging (I paid just over $3,000 for a 4-point bridge - crowns on three teeth and one for a missing. A dentist elsewhere was going to charge me $7,000 for the same work!) Highly recommended.

Dr. Fishkin has been the most unprofessional dentist Ive met in my life. Shes only about the money and not the well being of her patients. I am Hispanic, bi-lingual lady who understands perfect English and speaks it clearly. She didnt give me the chance to speak when immediately she was turning red telling her assistant to translate. I told her hello Im speaking English and understanding what you are telling your assistant to translate. Her assistant was so embarrassed and in shock. Fishkin ended up walking away from me, I was so furious and still not over her unprofessionalism and... Ill leave the other word for you guys to fill in.

I have seen Margarita Fishkin for about 12 years. She has been a great asset to my mouth, filling cavities and doing cleanings. I appreciate the time she takes to explain things to me and the different options. She also reinvests in her offices which has some nice bells and whistles like cameras that allow you to see whats going on -- something I dont get other places when i check out dentists closer. The staff is always considerate and keeps things going smoothly. I hope to be back in again soon for another cleaning in six months.

My visit with Dr. Fishkin was great. I broke my tooth the day before a big business trip. (Or re-broke. It had been repaired years earlier, by another dentist). Dr. Fishkin stayed late and took care of my tooth. I ended up needing a crown, and she was able to make me a temporary so I could enjoy my trip. When I got back, she brought me in and put in a a permanent crown that fits perfectly. The whole process of painless and the end product looks great. I would recommend Dr. Fishkin to anyone with a mouth!

Dr.Fishkin did a great job. I came for a basic check up but it turned out that I also had a few cavities, which did not surprise me since I had not seen a dentist in quite some time. She was extremely thorough, explained everything to me that was wrong, and told me exactly how long it would take. Everything was perfect and the best part was that I felt absolutely no pain, just like she promised!!! Im really happy and will be back for a check-up, this time much sooner. I will also bring my husband.

Dr Fishkin took her time to explain the procedure to me and even showed me on a screen (with a wand camera) how it was going to work. I let them know, that I am scared if any dental work, and both she and her assistant worked patiently with me to get me through it. I have perfect looking teeth again. :) The office staff also made sure I understood how my insurance works and how much of the procedures cost was my responsibility, so there were no financial surprises at the end of the visit.

I have finished two of a handful of visits to replace fillings that are over 40 years old. I appreciate her gentle manner but clearly fantastic technique working on my mouth. I am a clarinetist and other than my fillings, Ive got great teeth. Her staff and she are thorough and a pleasure.

Took her time with me and really explained the visit to its entirety. Love the camera she puts in your mouth to show you teeth by teeth what she is going to do. She gives you a plan of treatment to better your hygiene before you leave the office.
