AVOID!!! DONT waste your time here. I ordered a pair of glasses which when handed to me were in a broken, used DKNY case missing the cloth. I asked for a new case and they gave me a generic one with a piece of sandpaper for cleaning. When I asked them to adjust the glasses the entire staff (minus the optician) got very rude and defensive. On top of that the man that does the adjustments on the glasses just bends your frame and doesnt use any tools. He doesnt listen or look at your problem... just grabs and bends blindly and makes the glasses worse. The optician finally came out and adjusted the glasses properly at which point I requested that they give me a new DKNY case. The rude staff told me I shouldve just asked (now that her boss was out of his office) and they wouldve ordered one for me. Im still trying to figure out why she didnt offer that in the first place and instead gave me a case that I could find at a street fair. Im definitely regretting giving this place my business as they are rude, unhelpful, cant adjust glasses and clearly took my new DKNY case and cloth and gave me their used broken in its stead. AVOID, spend your money elsewhere!!!

I have been a customer for over 10 years and have been pleased with the service I have received. However, when I recently called to get a copy of my eyeglass prescription, the woman on the phone with me was clearly not interested in assisting me. Her attitude was as if I was bothering her and she was not in the mood to be bothered. In spite of this, I remained polite and upbeat after holding for a few minutes. When she came back on the line, she quickly informed me that they had no patient record under my name and that I must have called the wrong store. I asked her how that was possible considering that I had been a customer for over 10 years and the my most recent eye exam was only 3 months prior. She had no answer other than they didnt have a patient record for me. "Maybe you should just come in," she said. The entire exchange with her and her tone was as if she couldnt end the call fast enough. She was so rude, but I remained calm and pleasant. Even so, I think I will indeed go to the store when Im all the way downtown again. I will speak to the doctor about this incident, get a copy of my latest prescription and take my business elsewhere.

I have been here twice and on both occasions found an impressive selection of glasses and friendly, helpful staff. The doctor is nice and I didnt have to wait long for a walk in appointment. Ruth, who helped me on my most recent visit, was patient as I tried on over a dozen pair of glasses, and provided candid feedback about how they looked on my face. She even got me to try on (and eventually choose) glasses that I would not have normally even tried on -- and I LOVE them! I also ordered a new backup pair while I waited for my awesome new glasses to come in (they took about a week with my insurance company; the backups were ready the same day). My only gripe was with the man who cuts the lenses and does the adjustments. On my backup pair, he kept bending the glasses and asking what I thought when I put them back on -- even though they were still CLEARLY crooked on my face! He did this over and over until I asked Ruth to step in because we were getting nowhere. Since the glasses were bent beyond repair, she had me select a new pair and they were ready within a couple hours -- at no additional charge.

I honestly feel bad for the doctor that owns this business because the people he has hired to run his store are completely incompetent. My boyfriend and I both came here to fill our prescriptions and we had an awful experience. For one, the guy in charge of adjusting frames doesnt know how to adjust them. We ended up having to go elsewhere to have our frames adjusted. Second, the staff members are unfriendly and unhelpful. Gave us attitude instead of helping us resolve our issues. Third, the staff tried to give us an old, broken case for a brand new pair of glasses. The only decent thing about this place is the doctor that owns it. He ended up fixing one of the frames and ordering us a new case, but this could not erase the overall bad experience we had here. I wouldnt go back again unless the entire staff has been replaced by people more competent who understand that theyre working in the customer service industry.

I have been using Nassau Optical for years! They are great! The staff is the best. They make everyone feel like family. Helpful, patient, energetic, and knowledgable are just some of the words I would use to describe them. The eye doctor is just as great. He is very patient and courteous. No matter what issue I am having, he always manages to sort it out for me. They offer a wide variety of glasses frames ranging from high end designers to unknown designers. I use them for my contacts as well as my glasses and I find their prices to be very reasonable. I would highly recommend using them, if you are looking for a nice optician, who knows his stuff, and a staff, that Is so efficient they can get you in and out in no time. Definitely 5 stars!

Nassau Optical has a variety of choices when it comes to glasses. The staff is great and very friendly. They took my insurance and it all worked out. This is my first time going here but it was definitely worth it. Would go again for the simple fact the staff was great and helpful. Thanks

Very happy with the level of service, and selection of glasses. The staff was very patient when explaining my complicated insurance options and helped me pick the least expensive route. Have already brought in another friend here who is also pleased. Will definitely return in the future.
