This is by far the best animal hospital I have visit!! My dog (red nose pitbull) Max, had a severe bacterial infection, which was previously being treated by Bandfield in the Niskayuna Petsmart. Every visit at this location was with a different Vet and everyone will prescribe something different or find "something else wrong" with my boy. After a couple of different prescriptions and NO result I decided to cancel my insurance with Bandfield and a friend of mines recommended "The Animal Hospital". I was a littel scared at first, since I didnt know what to expect. Upon arrival of my first visit, the place was beautiful, a nice open land with plenty of space to walk my dog around before going into the visit. Once we walked in the front desk lady was amazing!!! she made us feel welcome, asked for all the necessary information, offered us coffee, water or soda before we got called in. After walking into the room the Vets assistant was AMAZING! as well, she was very professional and willing to listen to everything my dog had been through. The best part was meeting the Vet!! Jackie Kucskar, I cant say enough good things about her. Extremely professional, loves what she does and knows what shes talking about. She also listened to everything I had to say regarding what my dog had been through and proceeded to take my dog to the back room to do some testing, she came back to us with a diagnosis and with accurate medication for a specific time frame. I followed all the instructions she gave me and a couple of months after, my dog is like nothing ever happened! These people are amazing and is hard to find offices that actually care for your pet as much as you do. I will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for the best Vet office in town.

I cant say enough about Dr. Becker and his wonderful staff at the Animal Hospital. Our family dog has recurrent bladder stones that have come back just about every two years; he has had surgery twice to remove them. Other then this health issue he is a healthy and lovable dog; my four year old son just loves him! A couple of weeks ago my dog started to exhibit the same symtoms that suggest the stones are back. I was so upset knowing that financially this was not something we could afford at this time; as we just welcome our third child to the family. I was able to get an appointment the next morning on a Staurday with Dr. Becker; it was confirmed the stones were back. I started to cry in the office knowing that my options were limited; thinking of my son and how much our family loves this dog. Dr. Becker put our dog on antibiotics and told me I didnt have to make a decision that day I could take him home and talk to my husband, and that If i needed to my husband could call him and discuss our dog at any time. A couple days later my husband talked to Dr. Becker and a more then generous financial arrangement was agreed upon and our dog would be scheduled for surgery within two weeks. Today, I brought our dog home after surgery and my children were thrilled. I honnestly can not say enough about this practice and how much they have done for my family especially during this Holiday season. I would reccomend them in a heartbeat! When I was walking out of the office with my dog another dog owner said to me dont you just love them in there, arent they great! With out a second of hestitation I said yes! Dr. Becker and his staff truly are in it for the love of animals. Our family will never forget what they did for us!

When I first started bringing my first ferret Mocha to The Animal Hospital, Mocha was treated as one of their own pets and like a part of the family. They made me feel welcome and comfortable in trusting them with my little girl. That was in 2002. Since then, I have had 3 other girl ferrets Macey, Meadow and Mindi. All of them never felt scared or nervous about being at the Vet for any sort of visit. Sadly, Macey was the first of my girls to have to go to Pet Heaven at the age of 1 week shy of 4 years old. Dr Becker did everything possible to save her not only for me but because he has a big heart and lots of compassion. When Macey finally quit breathing and I lost it, Dr Becker was very consoling and had tears in his eyes also. He hated to see her go. Years later, at the ages of 8, 7 1/2, and 6...My other 3 girls had to go to Pet heaven as well. All within 7 months. It was heart wrenching to me and the staff at The Animal Hospital. Dr Beckers daughter Lexi was a very sympathetic vet as well and had seen the girls on occasion. I know adopted 2 boys, Mason and Max 2 years ago at the ages of 3 years old. Max has adrenal disease and Dr Becker is doing all he can for the little guy. I trust the staff at the Animal Hospital with pets lives. I would never consider going any place else no matter how far I would have to drive!!!! The expertise and service exceeds anything I could have hoped for. It has been 11 years...Thank you Dr. Becker and The Animal Hospital for being there for my pets and for me. I know my ferrets have lived long and happy lives in part because of you!!!!

I have been taking my animals to the Animal Hospital since 1993. I live 45 minutes away and clearly it would be much more convenient to have a veterinarian closer to our home. I have visited several others in the area over the years, and can assure you that the Animal Hospital is bar none! From the amazing, well-educated, friendly, and truly caring staff, to the facility itself with state of the art equipment that you wont find anywhere else in this area, the Animal Hospital is absolutely worth the trip. As a family owned and operated practice, Dr. Ed Becker had developed this clinic into the best in the region. Never once have I doubted or questioned the quality of care received. I have visited for a myriad of services including basic wellness visits, vaccinations, old age care, broken bones, major surgery, spaying and neutering, new puppy/kitten evaluations, and death. I remember once, my dog had bladder stones and Ed spent hours researching our options. He even reached out to another vet in the Midwest who was the best in the nation and had conducted the most, and recent, research on the particular stones my dog had. Unlike any other veterinarians I have come across, the Animal Hospital staff took the time to make sure we were on the right path. I also had a dog that had to be put down and everyone there cried almost more than me, which is a testament as to just how much this staff loves all the animals. I give the Animal Hospital 100 stars because 5 are just not enough!

As a new puppy mom, I would definitely recommend the Animal Hospital. The staff is extremely friendly and always helpful. I began going to The Animal Hospital because of Katie (shes a technician there). Her personality led me to believe that the people she worked with had to be equally kind and educated. Without a doubt, my assumption and her recommendation were right! Dr. Ed and Dr. Melinda are the doctors I have worked with and they are wonderful. Dr. Melinda has German Shepherds of her own and her advice and expertise has worked wonders at home. I remember, being a nervous new mom, I emailed Dr. Ed a couple of times after one of our first visits and I was astonished at how quickly and appropriately he answered my email. I had a question after hours and I was able to get an answer in the later evening hours! Even Dr. Melinda, days before a big holiday had asked me to email her and update her on my pups condition after a visit. They trully care about each animal they serve. They spend equal amounts of time with each "patient" and are thorough, honest, and beyond reassuring. Sally was also very helpful and handled my pup with care during visits! The front of the house staff are always flexible and patient, and just as friendly during appointment scheduling. The Animal Hospital is definitely one of the best in the area!!
