I went to Dr. Golden because she was recommended as a good NP that listens and tries to figure out what is wrong with you. At first I really liked her. But after a while, I started to realize that she isnt very trustworthy. She diagnoses without really getting all the tests done, and she has done it twice to me, I found that to be very egotistical. She did a battery of tests on me because I first went to her with Fibromyalgia, which I have has all of my adult life. She did every blood test in the book and listened to all of my symptoms and told me I was also Celiac. Celiac is a huge diagnosis that you cannot get simply from blood tests and symptoms, despite popular belief. To diagnose, you need to have an upper endoscopy, which I endured and it was negative, so it was all unnecessary and she swore I had it. A year later I came to her with extremely elevated liver enzymes and she told me I had to have Hepatitis. Turns out after weeks of testing and another unnecessary Upper Endoscopy, it was an over the counter drug that was causing the stomach pain and elevated liver enzymes, not Hepatitis. I only found this out because I decided to take it upon myself to go to a Gastro specialist at Stony Brook University. Besides the mis-diagnoses, there is only one nurse working there at a time and since I have been going there for the past 2 years, there is a new nurse every time I go back, and I am there at least once a month. That is a lot of turn over. In addition, today I walked in after making an emergency appointment with internal bleeding and when I walked up to the counter to check in, the receptionist told me, sorry, we no longer accept your insurance as of three days ago. I had to leave and go to the ER instead because I no longer have a primary. Take it from me, stay away, find a real doctor that is an MD. Marion Golden should not be allowed to call herself a doctor and have her own practice, as nice as she may seem to be.

I was referred to Dr.Golden by some friends about nine years ago. I had late stage Lymes and many complications from it.I saw the best doctors from Columbia Presbyterian to an expert in South Hampton and everyone in between. They basically said, youve had it too long, nothing left to do. Dr. Golden did extensive blood work and immediately called and had all previous tests faxed to her office. I found out later this is typical of her diligence. She found in the blood work she had done three other tick born diseases that no one detected. and they were major. She knocked them out with the proper meds. She also adjusted my elderly parents meds and got their numbers in a normal range when the specialist could not. She also called on her own time to see how they were doing. Shes Brilliant, compassionate, and will never give up on you. One more thing, these hostel comments have more to do with frustration with their insurance then the competence and care of this gifted doctor and wonderful person. Mark N. Mercurio

I went to Dr. Golden for many many years and I loved her. The thing is this past year Ive had some problems with my insurance and not being able to afford all the exams she wanted me to go get. She wanted me to get a sono done and also blood work. I went for the blood work but since I have to pay out of pocket for the sono I couldnt do it in the time she wanted me to. I was crying on the phone with her about it. She told me that she asked me to get the sono a few months ago which wasnt true. She had only given me the script to get the sono 3 weeks ago. She said to me and I quote, "Im not going to argue with you I think you need to go see a new doctor from now on." All over a test that I just cant afford at this very moment? A test that I had done not even a year ago? I was baffled. This is a doctor that I have seen for well over 10 years. I was crying and she had no sympathy. She basically ended the phone call (while Im still crying) with thank you have a nice day and just hung up.

Ive been to several doctors, including 2 neuralogists for chronic cluster headaches. Ive had 2 cat scans, mri and mra, a sleep study and nothing was accomplished. Dr. Golden after speaking with my wife, sent me for a detailed blood test, and found that I have late stage lymes, and Pylori. Dr. golden has taken me off all the terrible drugs given to me for my headaches and has me on doxycycline. Headaches are almost gone and I feel like a new person again. I made a very long story short, but Dr Golden is fantastic. She knows what she is doing and youre not just another patient. PS. One of my cat scans did show something which was ignored by my neurologist. Dr. Golden noticed it immediately.
