While our three cats have been patients here for many years, for the second time Dr. Maria Lagana has been instrumental in the treatment of a feral stray we care for as well. I was finally able to catch him and Dr. Lagana saw him immediately. She bravely gave him a thorough exam and he was treated for the issues she discovered. With an upcoming severe cold weather warning, she insisted he stay in her care until the temperature warmed. I was able to visit him every day. We are so very grateful to Dr. Lagana for her expertise and willingness to care for an animal in need. This is the second time she has administered aid. We had one other truly feral cat that we cared for for many years. He showed up one day with severe injuries as well as a broken leg. She fixed him up and kept him there while the leg healed. Its nice to know Dr. Lagana and her partner care for all animals, not just house pets. We are also grateful for some consideration when it came to the bill. I would never ask when it comes to our indoor pets but will be happy when I can save some money on the animals that were dumped on us. A special thanks to assistant Liz. Her cheerfulness and can-do attitude always make for a pleasant experience!

The staff were all very warm and courteous. We brought our dog here after he began limping this morning, seemingly out of nowhere. They squeezed us in right away and we were in and out in less than an hour. They offered a few possible diagnoses, explained which tests were necessary and performed them. Our dog required medication, which they had on-hand, and the prices were reasonable. The basic exam ran $58, which is about on-par based on our other experiences at local vets. There is a duplicate review for this place, both one-stars, which bring down the overall average, though I would disregard them. If you are concerned about "unrequested services," simply clarify with the personnel at the clinic. I believe the doctor was rather clear about the procedures she was going to perform and while she didnt mention a price, we werent too concerned since none of the procedures seemed unnecessary. Im absolutely certain that if we had asked about costs, they would have broken that down for us. Overall, our experience was great and I would encourage anyone to visit this clinic.

The doctors are knowledgeable, have great bedside manner, show genuine concern for each patient whether regular check ups or concerns with your favorite animal family member. The good doctors will even call you back for questions perhaps saving you a visit. They know a good owner is one who hasnt done the "Wed MD" self-diagnosis on their pets. Also their technicians/house staff are very caring in cleaning any furry friend who may have soiled the carrier in nervousness and themselves. A technician did a first class cleaning of my beloved cat and even groomed him and he was quite relieved. :) Highly recommended 5 STARS

I have moved around a lot and visited a number of vets along the way. This animal hospital is really top notch! The staff is so caring and professional. They stay in the room with you and perform bloodwork/administer shots with you right there so you can see how they treat your pet. Other facilities I have visited take your pet to the back so you cant watch. It says a lot that they are so transparent. Everyone on staff is very helpful and compassionate and I can always get an appointment when I need one. Also, they are reasonably priced. Animal hospital of White Plains is a five star veterinary clinic!

August 17, 2011 My experience at the Animal Hospital of White Plains has been great. Dr. Lagana and Dr. Tarasoff are kind and skilled veterinary doctors. Your pet will receive excellent medical service and care. They will help to keep your pet healthy all year, but when things get rough and your pet becomes ill, they will also be there for you in difficult times. Their support staff is dedicated, equally skilled and caring. I have brought my two cats and dog to Dr. Lagana and Dr. Tarasoff for the past 2 and a half years. I would highly recommend them to you.

I owe my dogs life to Dr. Tarasoff and Dr. Lagana and the entire team of Animal Hospital of W.P. I have a Siberian husky and while my husband and I were at work our husky got into a box of gum and ate it all. He was intoxicated and would have died if it wasnt for their hospital. My husky was back to normal after being in their care for 24 hours. I really owe them his life! Thank you!!!!! this hospital is well trusted!

Outstanding care. Staff love animals and the veterinarians are kind and compassionate and knowledgeable. They have NEVER EVER tried to sell me anything expensive that wasnt absolutely necessary for my cats recovery and they are very amenable to explaining alternatives.. I have gone there since Dr. Young retired and have never had any problems. A wonderful group of people.

Dr Lagana is rude and condescending. She told me she had already spent enough time on the phone with me, even though it had been 10 minutes. Then she fired me for wanting clarification on a change in treatment. Do NOT bring your beloved pets to her. Dr Tarasoff is lovely, its unfortunate shes not in practice alone.

These doctors have saved my rescue dogs more than once! This is the place to take your four legged family member. The vets are smart, explain everything, and take their own call after hours--they treat your pet like their own!.The staff is amazing too. No one cares more than these people.

When Sundance had to have surgery they called repeatedly to make sure both he and we were ok! They are kind, and smart, and compassionate, and really love their patients. They are just what you want in a vet! I would have no hesitation about recommending them to anyone.

These folks care about you and your pet. The doctors take the time to answer questions you have and even will do that over the phone. Its a "throw-back" kind of Hospital back to the days when you could really get to know your doctor.

Dr. Lagana brought my dear cat back from a very fragile and dire place. She brought compassion, warmth, and expertise and gave me good sound advice. Ultimately my cat is doing great but I feel that she saved his life.
