I decided to try this place out since it was closer to work, but NOT satisfied at all. I wish I would have just listened to my gut instinct and left the first time I arrived. First of all, the receptionists up front do not have friendly vibes at all. At other places Ive been to, people would help you, from beginning to end. Here, they kind of stare you down and make you feel uncomfortable for asking questions. They just sit there and talk to each others instead of seeing if customers would like help. Secondly, they try to fork up as much money as they can from you. On the initial phone call, we clearly made my appointment on 2/15/17 for glasses (I mentioned I already have a prescription elsewhere) and when I got there, they tried to make me get a new eye exam. I also clearly said Im not interested in contacts exam/contact lens/high index lenses and they asked multiple times again and again. I was told that glasses will be ready in about 2 weeks. Most or all of the glasses prices here are marked up. Do a little search online and you will notice that. Unfortunately, I did that when I got home after the appointment. I found out the frames they charged me for "$194" is only about $96 online!! I emailed VSP insurance company about my concerns regarding the insurance processes and they advised me to call Milpitas Family Eyecare first to reverse the transaction if I wanted a refund. So I called both days from 17th-18th within working hours but nobody picked up my calls until I called again on the 21st. When I asked for the refund, the store staff refused to work with me. Their only concern was probably getting the deal done with no regards to customer satisfaction. The lady on the phone said shell check with the factory or whatever though then calls me back in 5 minutes to tell me the glasses are ready for pick up. Interesting. Lastly, I was able to leave work early on the 27th to come pick up the glasses. Oh my goodness, as if the experience at this location could not have gotten worse. It did. The glasses the assistant brought out slips off my face. I dont know if shes new/inexperienced but the glasses were clearly crooked and loose after her first two fixes. Another fix caused the left side to touch my eyelashes but right side not touching my nose bridge. Another time it looked like the frames were getting so curved and uneven! She adjusted it about 5 times until it looked alright enough for me to leave. I was worried the frames would be damaged with all her bending.. That killed about 30 minutes but it still doesnt feel comfortable like all my previous glasses. I dont even want to waste more time off work to come here again and will accept this loss. I am bummed I ended up going here and wish I could turn back time to go elsewhere with nicer, better trained employees and cheaper services.
