Want to give everyone a heads up. First of all we have Blue Cross insurance, we pay a high monthly premium but all doctor/hospital visits are almost 100% covered. Took my daughter to Honor Health/Deer Valley Hospital urgent care on Carefree Hwy after she fell off her skateboard and skinned her knee and leg pretty good. They put new dressing on the wound and gave her a antibiotic shot, that was it. Was told after the fact when signing discharge papers that depending if the doctor is a provider to your insurance, would determine if insurance will cover the visit. Was shocked to see that our short visit was in excess of $3000.00, and then was even more shocked when our insurance only covered about half, due to Honor Healths excessive charges. Bill was paid in full and then almost a year later received a billing for $100.00. I contacted their billing department (nightmare) and was asked to fax canceled checks. I faxed them the next day. Thinking this ordeal was over, months later again received a statement being threatened that if I did not pay I would immediately be turned over to a collection agency. I again called them and explained that this was paid in full. They stated they never received the fax (even though I had confirmation that they did), so I emailed them copies of my cancelled checks. I then received a call back stating that I was correct, and my bill was paid in full. He promised to take care of this immediately and that I would have no further issues. Today, five months later I just received a statement that I again owe $100.00. The lesson learned is that I will NEVER go to another facility that is run by Honor Health, and you would be wise not to either. Not only will they charge you 4 times the average but will leave you spending endless hours defending yourself to an account that was paid in full over a year ago.

I finally switched to another medical group, which I shouldve done a long time ago. The problem isnt the physicians, or the NPs, but the staff. They are incompetent, in my opinion. I explained to medical assistant that a prior auth was required for one of my meds (info given to me from insurance and pharmacy) and the response was, "Oh, so you need us to call in a new medication?" Are few days later I got a call and was informed that I needed to call my insurance company myself, that insurance told the office they would only give patient a name of the medications that were covered. (The formulary is online) SO I was given the insurance phone number, called it and it was not even my insurance company. We will wait days for prescription refills, IF they get returned, and they have claimed more than once that no fax from pharmacy was sent. Every now and then they will surprise you with a prompt response to scripts and inquiries, but that is few and far between. The staff is friendly and kind, but you cant count on them. When I see no refills on a prescription, its "Oh, great, here we go." I am driving 20 miles farther away to get medical care, now, but its worth it not to deal with the hassle.

I am a Registered Nurse, and I am also a patient at Tramonto. The Nurse Practitioners that I see there and the staff have always been courteous and kind. I have no problem getting appointments, and I have always been seen with efficiency and with professionalism. I have been in the medical field for more than twenty years and I am happy to say that I trust my care to the Tramonto group without reservation.
