I went there because I had a nasty cough and felt terrible, I had been exposed to mold dust and told them so.I signed in, filled-out forms, and waited patiently to be seen. When I was assigned a room I overheard a person outside of the room saying to someone "that guy in this room is not indian" so when the doctor came in, he imediately asked me of I was indian, to which I replied "yes I am". I recieved no care at that point and was told to go to a state run hospital and was asked to leave the room.When I went to the front desk to retrieve my Cherokee membership cards the woman who took my registration information threw them at me hitting me in the chest with the cards.I am Cherokee but appear white, and am a member of the Cherokee Nation. I have NEVER been treated with more distain and animosity at a reservation or other hospital.
