am going to tell you about my exp regarding my recent visit with Agoura Dental, Dr. Amir: I enter the office around 3 pm with no appointment!! I had worse toothache of my life as my dentist has told me that I need a crown . I called my Dentist Dr. Stevens whom didnt have time for me and all he offered was Tylenol!! till next appointment in one week. waiting room was very nice and clean, front desk ask for my name and she seemed little unhappy that i just walked in with no call. she went back and return with nice smile with approval by the dentist to squeeze me in. She brought me some ice to apply till I feel better. wait about 30 minutes, Dr Amir came to the waiting room and called other patients and ask his permission to see me ahead of him for just 5 minutes (that is call compassion).He looked clean sharp. I found the treatment room very clean and his dental assistant kind but little overweight :o , He came and apply some type of medicine on my tooth so i feel temporary better and he left ( I think he went to take care of other patient that had appointment ) and his assistant started getting x ray . he came back in about 15 minutes and I already felt much better. Guess what he told me that I all i need was a simple filling and did not need any crown and he tries to fix it for me . I first doubt but there was no reason to doubt this fellow as i already felt so well with him,,,,so why not ...e started working on my tooth , painless. and everything was over in 25 min. I could not be happier ..Very nice guy and he also told me some jokes about screw the computer which was very funny as well ....I thank him at the end....as I was exiting then i realize I had to pay , here It comes the killer part , I knew i had to pay the fortune for this 5 star service , A nice lady called herself pam sitting in front desk and show and explain the bill , fraction of my dentist , apart from saving money of not doing crown his simple feeling was much cheaper than what i have paid for in past. I had cash as it was not much and I gave her , she took the money and gave me receipt with a nice smile and i realize she is his wife. I loved it , felt like old school family business and caring . She told me that I could follow with my own dentist, i was shocked when I heard that , I thought I might have done something wrong ,but she told me that Dr Amir just tried to help me today and he has no intention to take other dentist patient !!!! I replied I have a new dentist and he is my new dentist... I got an appointment for next month to go there for deep cleaning. I tried to give you details of my visit so you get the feeling that what I went through last Tuesday and what a wonderful dentist he is ....Now I need to find a great physician as well I guess I will give it a shot since I am so unhappy of my current one :)

Dr. Choroomi is the best. It was Mothers Day morning when I broke my front crown. I was mortified. So I called around several places near my area and all the dental offices had recordings or the line just kept ringing. Of course, it was a Sunday and a holiday to boot. But when I called Agoura Dental, someone actually answered the line. It was one of the dental hygienists who was taking call that day. How awesome is that - right away I was impressed with the business. I wish I could remember her name but she was so kind and friendly even though I was interrupting her time with her mother. She said shed have the doctor call me to see if he can see me that same day. Shortly after she called me back and said the doctor wanted to see me first thing in the morning. Then a couple hours later Dr. Choroomi called me to see how I am feeling and advised that I hold onto any remnants of the crown that may have chipped off. I was so impressed by the fact that he was taking time from his family to call a new patient. I went in the next morning and was greeted by a very friendly staff. Like another yelper wrote about Agoura Dental, I experienced no judgment for being so neglectful of my teeth. They had deteriorated, in part, due to radiation I had received to my neck and throat from treatment for Hodgkins several years back. And I just avoided the dentist because I my fear of the pain. I wont lie, the work Ive had done is a little painful, but Dr. Choroomi has made every effort to make sure Im comfortable. He can be very soothing as well as the rest of the staff. Im having a lot of work done but he spends the time explaining what he is doing and next steps. The best part of the whole experience is that I never have to sit in the waiting room for more than a few minutes. Even if Im early, they take me in right away. I love not having to wait like Ive had to with other dentists in the past. This is a very efficient office and team at Dr. Choroomis practice. I highly, highly recommend Agoura Dental. I plan to be a patient for many years to come. Dr. Amir has my business!

Who even wrote these great reviews? it must have been family or the dental office themselves. I went off these reviews to go see how "great" this doctor was and was traumatized. First of all, the doctor was very unprofessional. He was yelling at his assistant the whole time I was getting work done to get out of his way. He was not gentle or caring as I was very nervous, he made it so much worse. When I was done with that wonderful appointment, I went to the front desk to pay a payment like I had discussed with the doctor. They wanted me to pay for all my work that had been done, right then, right now and were extremely rude about it. First she was saying that I needed to pay $700.00, then changed it to $1015.00. They said they were going to call the police on me and refused to take any payment other than that amount. They ladies in the front were so unprofessional and attacking me. Previously the doctor stated that I could make payments on all the dental work I am getting and that I have great insurance so "not to worry" was exactly what he told me. yeah right. I have never had a more horrible experience at a dentist and will be contacting my insurance company as I think they are crooks and are double charging. GOOD LUCK to anyone that goes there.

These reviews are baffling, either they are planted or these poor people gave no idea they are being robbed blind. Check reviews everywhere else, no more than one star and horror stories. I myself and three other personal friends have all been through this quacks office all with the same horrible experience. Everything from false insurance claims to extreme overcharging. He tried to give me root canals on perfectly good teeth, basically said my mouth was a disaster and it would take $6000 with my insurance for 2 caps. He then proceeded to tell my almost every tooth had a cavity. I didnt trust this guy at all so I went for a second opinion. Not only did the second dentist tell me I had no cavities but I also did not need any root canals. The second doctor also did not accept my insurance but I liked him so much I went ahead with the work and it only cost me $1000, $5000 less then choroomi wanted to charge me with insurance!!! Please stay away from him and his wife that runs the front desk they are in another level of crooks. On top of that hes very defensive and rude if you disagree in anyway which is what threw up the red flag for me in the first place, Im so glad I got a second opinion!!
