Dr. Richard Sprague is more than just my dentist, he has become my friend. I grew up in Los Angeles and had a great childhood dentist. However, in my late 20s and early 30s I lived in Orange County, and during my absence, my childhood dentist had retired. When I moved back up to LA, 8 years ago, I had a hard time finding a dentist I liked. Most dentists are good, but I wanted someone who is excellent. I wanted a dentist who would not over charge me, and one that would not "sell" me on services and procedures I might not need. Dr. Sprague has been my dentist for the last 6 years and I couldnt be happier. He calls me 1-2 hours after every visit to check up on me. He is consistent with his quality of work, and although he is not the cheapest, he is always fairly priced. I have one story which really stands out in my mind. Last month, I was in a tremendous amount of pain and I needed a root canal. I had an appointment set for a Thursday morning, but I was in so much pain on a Wednesday night, that I called the Doc on his cell phone, asking for help. During the call he let me know that he was at a function 60 miles away, with his wife and four kids. I promptly said "sorry to bother you, I will see you in the morning." However he insisted that he perform the surgery that night. He left the event he was attending, met me at his office at 9:30pm, with the entire family and performed the root canal. What made me write this review, was what I like the most about this doctor. It is the way he loves his family and how they love him back. It was a very special thing to witness, and I will always trust him as my dentist. -Christopher Farlow

When you have no pain in your body - you dont realize how lucky you are - but NOTHING that I can think of is as painful and as stressful as tooth pain. Because of grinding my teeth at night, I ended up fracturing a tooth and it got infected. The pain was unbearable. I got an emergency appointment from Dr. Spague and he ended up extracting the broken tooth. The infection was so bad - that it spread to the next tooth and I needed a root canal. What takes 4 hours with other dentists - only took 20 minutes by Dr. Sprague. Why? - because he has all the latest equipment and technologies available. Minutes seem like hours when you are sitting in a dental chair for someone like me who hates going to the dentist - trimming the visit to 20 minutes and taking away such pain is nothing short of a miracle! I am also afraid of needles and he talks you through what he is doing, and the injection process is almost painless and quick. Im still not a fan of going to the dentist - but if I have to go - Im glad that Dr. Sprague is there! Compassionate, gentle staff - we need more people like this in health care services! If you are looking for kind, GENTLE and considerate dentist - who really does care - Dr. Sprague is your man! Sadly - hes a rarity in vast ocean of dental practitioners. A Master at his craft and his aftercare is amazing - texting you to make sure your doing well and having no problems.

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Sprague! President of his fan club, for sure. I had a pretty intense dental emergency a little over a month ago and had just moved to Los Angeles so I didnt have a dentist in mind. I was in serious pain and after perusing the internet for recommendations I decided to email Dr. Sprague. He got back to me within hours and put me in touch with his staff and agreed to come see me after hours that very evening! He wasnt even in the office that day but made an exception out of the kindness of his heart. When we met up he immediately evaluated my case and decided I needed to see an oral surgeon ASAP and phoned a colleague who was willing to stay after hours and see me right then and there. Dr. Sprague and his assistant personally escorted me to the oral surgeon (the wonderful Dr. Gabbaypour) and stayed with me during the entire procedure. In all seriousness, his professionalism and skill and concern for my comfort blew me away. The best dentist Ive ever seen, hands down, and I am definitely sticking with him in the future! Everyone in his staff is fantastic, too. If you have any dental needs or concerns, run dont walk. Really.

Dr. Sprague is an amazing dentist who genuinely cares about his patients. When I first went to Dr. Sprague I was “dentist phobic” because another dentist had created a mess in my mouth that had left me with eight extremely painful and ugly teeth that I was embarrassed to be seen in public with. Today I have beautiful teeth and I am no longer terrified to go to the dentist. From day one in his office he went out of his way to calm my fears and make sure the process of restoring those eight teeth was as painless as possible and the final product was the smile wanted to see in the mirror. Because of Dr. Sprague’s never ending patience and gentle touch, many years, eight veneers, several root canals, a few crowns and one implant later, I can tell you without question, that he is a fabulous dentist

Came in for a root canal yesterday. This story is 100% accurate. I am terrified of the dentist. I had a mini anxiety attack walking in. Dr Sprague saw this while I was in the waiting room. He came out from behind the counter and sat with me, introduced himself calmly and wrote me a script to ease my anxiety. Then, he went above and beyond and literally walked me down the street to the pharmacy to get the script filled. Once calmed, I got into the chair and he reassured me that he is relaxed, not in any kind of hurry and we would be done in only 20-25 minutes. He was a very kind, attentive and very gentle through the entire process. I can not possibly say enough about my experience. Amazing. Highly recommend! Thank you Doctor.

I have had two procedures done by Dr. Sprague. The first was about a year ago and I had a root canal and new crown done all in the same visit. He was very competent, affordable, fast and caring. Recently I went back to Dr. Sprague and had veneers done on my top teeth. I am so happy with my new smile! I went in to his office in the morning and left in the afternoon with a whole new look and a confidence I have never had before with my teeth. The experience was great and I would recommend Dr. Sprague to anyone looking for quality dental work. Also, he will work with you on pricing and really cares about his patients. He called to check up on me that evening and the next day.

He really is a wonderful dentist. I have been plagued with dental problems always and he made me feel so at ease, everyone there is great. I had extensive dental work done and he was great as were his prices. He is very gentle and thoughtful and even called to see how I was doing afterwards. And he is easily accessible in a dental emergency, which is a huge deal. He makes the experience as pleasant as it can be, if you need proof see me laughing in the dentist chair in the video by Yelp on his website...I was about to have a tooth extraction and a bone graft. Hes awesome!
