I went in a couple weeks ago for a cleaning, because they were listed in my HMO network. After looking at x-rays for about 3 minutes, the dentist told me I needed to be scheduled for two root canals and 8 fillings. Never having had a cavity, this seemed insane, so I let them do a "deep cleaning" and then sought out a second opinion. When I went to another dentist (one who is on the local board and votes on certification for periodontists in CA...one of the most respected dentists in SoCal) the real story came out. Though I did need a root canal, I only needed one. I was told by 3 different specialists, that one root canal was necessary, but there was NO WAY a second was warranted. As for the fillings, after seeing two other very highly regarded dentists, it was agreed upon that I need 2 fillings. Its very clear that these guys tried to make a quick buck, and do work that was totally unnecessary and probably detrimental to my health. I also have to have the "deep cleaning" re-done, since they did such a poor job (the new dentist showed me the spots they missed in my new set of images). I have NEVER written a review of any business, since most of the time I really dont care. That being said, these guys are dangerous. Also...when you read all the "positive reviews" on here, you will notice the same grammatical mistakes in many of them. I wonder if they were really written by twenty-some different people, or just one person with a relatively poor mastery of the English language. There are several of them who fit the bill at Marina Dentistry.

I have had 3 crowns and 2 root canals done at Marina Dentistry. NO PAIN the dentist and staff where great, I think that those folks that do not have any thing good to say should not say anything. A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form. "Root canal" is the term used to describe the natural cavity within the center of the tooth. The pulp or pulp chamber is the soft area within the root canal. The tooths nerve lies within the root canal. Its easy to ignore the effects of poor oral hygiene because theyre hidden in your mouth. But gum disease may point to problems with diabetes and heart disease and loose teeth could be a sign of osteoporosis. Could it be that a healthy mouth means more than just a sparkling smile? And what could your dentist learn about you the next time you open wide?

They were con artists and scam artists...this place is a Bait & Switch, and if you have insurance they WILL REAM you for all types of extra charges and upsell you on EVERYTHING. They will try to make you pay for everything BUT what work you intended to pay for. Total money machine and they do not care about people. They have a really bad reputation locally in Marina del rey and culver city, locals hate them and now so do I. They will watse your time and take your money and know you will not come back. They work off of new patients because no one returns to get service and treatment like that. Report them to BBB for bait & switch.

DO NOT GO HERE....THEY ARE SCAMMING!!! Not only that, but they are also rude and unprofessional. I went in with the new patient coupon for $30 for xrays, exam, and cleaning. I had an appointment at 4:00. I was finally brought in at 5:15. Not 1 person apologized for making me wait an hour and fifteen minutes. They told me i needed some expensive treatment and they refused to do the cleaning. They said I would have to wait even longer. Do not go here. Its a waste of time. They send out coupons but then tell the patient they need expensive treatments that they dont need. Find a professional dentist! Not these scam artists.

The worst dentist experience I have ever had. I came in early on the day before Thanksgiving upon request. After waiting for an hour, I was told that I have to schedule another appointment for cleaning! When I was speaking to the doctor, she seemed to be distracted by their TV projector which I found very unprofessional. They only suggest expensive treatment for a solution for my concerns as if they are only there to sell. Please be aware when you are signing up with them.

This office is all about selling you things you dont need, after telling me I needed $4200 worth of work, I got a second opinion from my old dentist who said I only needed two fillings replaced!! In addition, the work I had had them do was TERRIBLE and had to be redone. This place probably has the worst dentists in LA and works hard to get you to commit to work you dont need, even while youre sitting in the chair. Dont sign anything, or better yet go someplace else.

Dont even bother in going for consultation. I can tell you what shell recommend. Everything youve ever had done in your mouth needs to be redone, from fillings to crowns. Even if theyre only a few years old. Total about 12k. Now a very much necessary molar, which can be saved with a root canal, at the worst, she would recommend to pull it out. Probably to try to sell you an implant or a bridge later on. Ive ran into careless, selfish dentist before but OMG!

Who likes to go to the Dentist? I do! This office is the most comfortable dental office Ive ever been to in my entire life. Extremely friendly staff, Dr. Sameer Aljanedi is fantastic and is always very gentle with whatever procedure I have done. He explained clearly and was upfront what the procedure would entail. I felt comfortable and confident in his professional opinion. He was knowledgeable and provided options. So glad I found this place!

This place has been in constant decline over the last year. It started great, then my dentist left and I got placed with the rudest guy ever. The staff is mostly incompetent. Be prepared to know your insurance codes because they dont. They also didnt bother to let me know the oral surgeon quit so I waited weeks for a response on my X-rays and now have to start that process all over again with someone else.

Ive been a patient here for a while. I wouldnt agree with the post below that they are scammers, Ive usually had a good experience here. I would say that if youre unsure about whether anything is an extra charge, ask because it probably is and they dont always tell you. I got hit with a 30 dollar glorified bottle of flouride rinse once, but theyve done so well outside of that Ive let it slide.

great office.i came in last week as a emergency patient for a tooth ache and they took me in on a short notice. the dentist and staff were very nice and gentle. not often do i have a good experience at the dentist but they took care of me. Dr. Mir started my root canal to get me out of pain so i was able to enjoy my new year pain free. really appreciate there work!

I usually hate going to the dentist , I had bad experience when I was a kid . So I had a toothache and went to marina dentistry . They changed my mind about going to the dentist , from the reception to the dentist and the work they did , wow I was so happy I sent my wife and son to them . I recommend this office to every body .
