My mother had been having pain for a while now. We decided to visit Dr. Shawn Hofkes after a very high recommendation from a family member who visited him a few months ago for wisdom teeth extraction. The office: Very convenient location right off the 605. The office is on the 2nd floor of a large shopping center. Plenty of parking...we parked in the shade because it was hot! The office itself had a very calming atmosphere. The receptionist was super friendly and welcoming. The Doc: Big genuine smile on his face as soon as he walked up to greet us. Dude he is tall! Lol. Anywhoo...He made my mom feel comfortable even though she didnt speak any English. She got a really cool panoramic xray done by Laurie, a very sweet dental assistant. We told him about my moms pain and possible tooth infection. He looked at the xray and took the time to answer our questions and explain to us all the problems he could see, while i tried to translate. I felt bad for him because my mom has some pretty gnarly teeth! (I can say that because she wont be able to read this) Unfortunately, she needed 2 teeth out asap due to infection. The procedure: You guys, no BS, both teeth came out so fast she barely got through the first scene of Shanghai Noon! (BTW in the surgery room there is a TV! With Netflix! And u get to choose what you want to see!) He is a pro! I am still in shock... My mom with her horrible teeth have been to a number of dentists over the years for extractions, bridges, crowns, root canals...you name it. She said hands down the best dentist she has ever been to is Dr. Hofkes. He is kind, gentle, patient and understanding...everything you could ever wish for in a doctor. He really really cares! My mom loves him! Needless to say, Dr. Hofkes is the only dentist she will see from now on. We are truly very thankful for such an amazing experience with Dr. Hofkes and his lovely staff. My visit to Cerritos Dental Surgery was the best experience Ive ever had at any doctors office. I went in earlier today for a consultation about my wisdom tooth (after reading the glowing reviews on yelp) and Dr. Hofkes said he could take it out right then and there. I thought Id have to schedule another appointment for the actual surgery weeks later and stress myself out about it the whole time. The procedure was so fast i couldnt believe it was over. Some highlights:*Bottled water and coffee for patients*Very modern, clean office right above 85 degree bakery (the best pastries..yummy!!)*Incredibly sweet and patient reception staff.*Kind, caring surgical assistant name Neng who did my x-rays and calmed me down once I was in the chair *Dr. Hofkes walked me through my x-rays and gave me a great overview of exactly why it was in my best interest to have the tooth out that day, and told me everything he was going to do to get it out.*The Nitrous oxide (laugh gas) really helped calm me down.*Dr. Hofkes administered a few shots of Novocaine that I could barely feel.*Less than 10 minutes and a lot of jokes/laughing later, the tooth was out and I was stitched up! I seriously did not feel a thing.Now, a mere 5 hours later, Im wondering what I felt so nervous about. The whole experience was a breeze and Dr. Hofkes and his staff are some of the best medical professionals Ive ever met. Go here, you wont regret it.

There are no words and no money that can repay what Dr. Shawn Hofkes and his wife did for my 5 yr old daughter. It was a Friday night, the office was closed, they were on their way home after working all day when my desperate phone came in. They turned the car around, opened the office for us and serviced my daughter. You dont see that personalized service anymore. My daughter had been sleeping in the sitting position for two nights for fear of swallowing a loose front tooth. Thanks to Dr. Hofkes and his wifes empathy for their patients, especially if they are children, my daughter was happy to have that tool pulled out and had a very good night sleep that night. Dr. Shawn Hofkes and his staff is THE BEST OF THE BEST!! I truly cannot say enough about Dr. Hofkes! His "bedside manner" is second to none - kind, compassionate, funny, caring, and extremely HONEST! And very reasonable prices. The office staff is very helpful and gentle to my needs. They will make sure you are comfortable in every way. Im so grateful I found them. Hes an expert of the highest order. The office atmosphere decor is so beautiful and modern, it makes you feel calm and relax as if your in spa. It helps when your about to have oral surgery. Do yourself a favor and go to Dr. Hofkess office for all your oral surgery or dental work. You will be very glad you did!! Thank you Dr. Hofkes.

As I lay here about 30 min after 4 wisdom teeth removals I decided what better way to spend my boring post-surgery bed rest than raving about this place? The waiting room was so nice and comfortable -complete with the best throwback slowjams and a Keurig machine to put you at ease. Equipment seemed state of the art. I have never had an X-ray done like that where you stick your head in a metal thing that makes a whirring noise for a little while and then spits out perfect pictures of your teeth from every angle! The staff is awesome - super friendly and knowledgable. Dr. Shawn is phenomenal!! Hes kind, friendly, genuinely cares about his patients, and truly good at what he does.

As a military veteran who hadnt seen a dentist since discharging from the service I was scared, but had some serious dental issues I had to attend to. These included broken teeth. Dr. Hofkes and his staff were professional,respectful, and empathetic. They worked with my VA sponsored dental program and made sure I get the look and feel of a healthy beautiful smile. I have recommended him already to several people and if anyone is hesitating to see a dentist out of fear, this is the team you need to see. I have already told myself this is my dentist, and you should make him your dentist to. They treat you like family.

A couple weeks ago I had a dental implant place on my front tooth area due to a freak accident at a music festival where I ended up cracking one of my roots!! Dr. Hofkes and his staff assured me they would fix it with ease. They took an awesome 3D xray and showed me what was going on. I currently feel great and the area is completely healing and I have a new tooth! Dr. Hofkes was super friendly, professional, and he reiterated everything to me. The actual procedure went super smooth. They gave me all my medicines and off I went. Thank you Dr. Hofkes and staff. You guys are the truth!
