I have seen at least 6 different optometrists since I was 13, and Dr. Wang is by far the BEST. Ive been her patient for about 3 yrs now, and her prescriptions always give me the sharpest, clearest vision. She conducts her eye exams very efficiently and answers all my questions thoroughly. During my first visit with her, she recommended me to have "BluTech lenses", which are specially designed to reduce eyestrain and protect against eye disease caused by long computer use. As I am a grad student working on a computer/iPad/phone 12+ hours a day, Im shocked that no other optometrist mentioned them to me... I now have 2 pairs of BluTech glasses that I ordered from Dr. Wang, and they work better than all my glasses from my old optometrists. I also ordered my first prescription polarized sunglasses from her, which are AMAZING and i literally cannot drive or go outside during the day without them. Dr. Wang herself helped me pick out my frames, and she knew which ones worked with my face shape and prescripton. She never pressured me into buying anything/spending more than I wanted to. In fact, she clearly explained my insurance benefits (VSP) to me and gave me an estimate on how much everything would be when we were inside her exam room, BEFORE we even started looking at frames. Im happy i found a doctor I can actually trust :) Her staff is also very friendly and helpful in making appointments. They even send text messages to remind you. I highly recommend this office!!

WARNING: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY!!! I went to this optometrist, because I clearly needed glasses and was frustrated with using the OTC readers you can buy for $5 in any drug store. After a botched up initial exam with what seemed to be the "receptioninst-in-training", a completely RUSHED and INACCURATE examination by Connie Wang, and $600 dollars later ... I have a pair of the ugliest (but MOST affordable in her very HIGHLY priced selection) pair of "prescription" glasses and a box of "fun" (but COMPLETELY useless) colored contacts that I might as well dump right in the trash!!! I asked for a re-check of my eyes (after receiving the contacts and then a few weeks later the glasses themselves), but she told me I would have to PAY for the repeat examination (which was WAAAAY over-priced in the first place) because I "didnt pick them up" w/in 30 days of my exam. Because I am currently paid monthly, and I travel weekly, she would not bend her little rule. But it was only after she SUCKED the $600 out of me that she was rude, unhelpful, and offered no "good faith" assistance. I am NOW using the initial $5 pair of drugstore eyeglasses and the CRAP she sold me is completely useless to me. So is the prescription. PLEASE DONT MAKE MY MISTAKE!!! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!

This review is long overdue. My family of 5 have been coming to Dr. Wang for about 6 years now. Im quite shocked at the poor reviews here. We have had nothing but positive experiences each and every time. My Mother-in-law even comes here and pays out of pocket because she has Kaiser, but enjoys Dr. Wang. The staff is great, they remember everyone in the family and ask about things that we forgot we even told them. We have a combo of glasses and contacts, they all have been the correct prescription/fit. The office is always busy, yet you are seen within minutes of your appointment time. Glasses and contacts are ready for pickup in about a week. Ive needed them even sooner for my son so they put a rush on his order. Theres a pretty decent selection of frames. And if youre getting contacts, you wear the first pair out same day, no extra cost. Weve never been talked into more expensive frames, which I like because I hate feeling like Im being pushed into spending more. They are great at explaining lenses and costs. Im very happy here. Thanks Dr. Wang and staff!

Horrible experience. High-pressure sales tactics here. Treated like a money source to manipulate instead of respected as an individual patient. Dr. Wang talks over you and rushes everything. After the exam was done and she physically inserted contacts into my eyes herself, I couldnt see straight. The prescription was wrong. A waste of time, and I have to now find a better optometrist and get another exam AND pay out of pocket because I used my one covered yearly exam with the manipulative Dr. Wang at East Bay Optometry.

Very bad I cant put zero stars! To all: STAY AVAY, FAR FAR AVAY!!! All they really care of your money and thats it! Terrible service and relation with the patient. She will not listen to you carefully, talk to you from the back, rush your checkout, and so on. Oh, and if you need an real eyes exam and not just a glasses, forget about it - she will sent you to another "specialist", which you have to pay again.

Ive been very pleased with Dr. Wangs care for several years now. She fitted me with special bifocal contacts that allow me to see clearly for both distance and reading, and her exams and recommendations are thorough and accurate. My entire family sees Dr. Wang annually, and weve all been happy to be her patients. I highly recommend East Bay Optometry, Dr. Wang and her friendly, efficient office staff.

Ive bought the last two pair of glasses from Dr. Wang. Ive always received many complements on them and have been very satisfied with my choices. I do agree on the high pressure sales as my husband walked away with a pair of prescription sunglasses that he never uses and the RX is so minor he doesnt really need them (wasted money). I will continue to go back to her.

Dr. Wang and her staff are awesome! Everyone is very friendly - they are on top of their game. Wide range of frames to choose from - and if Dr. Wang doesnt have what you want - shell order it for you. Contacts always delivered in a timely manner. Thorough examinations. Always on schedule. I highly recommend this practice.

I have been with Dr. Wang and her staff for over 15 years. I have received excellent service. I feel that Dr. Wang genuinely cares for her patients and strives to give me the best products for my eyes. I will continue to do business with East Bay Optometry and refer new patients to Dr. Wang.
