This place is an absolute joke. The vet techs are nice, but if you are thinking of having Dr. K perform surgery on your dog, go somewhere else. This guy claims to be an orthopedic surgeon, but has no board certification and cannot back up his claim of being certified to perform TPLO. We brought our lab in to get a second opinion for a torn CCL. The doctor took xrays, but did not even exam the dog. However, he did spend time pitching various surgeries and talking about his own cosmetic surgery and how his physician threw in extra procedures for a discount since hed already be in surgery. Fifiteen minutes later, he pulls the same crap on us and says hell do our labs other leg for another 200 bucks because it will probably go in the next year. We decided to stick with our own vet since Dr. K was vague and quite odd. When our vet called back bay to see the records of Dr. Ks review, they claim the doctor never saw the dog and theres no record even though we have our receipt for a consultation and pre surgical blood panel. Dont waste your time with these clowns.

I had just rescued my pup from THE WORST pet adoption agency. He came home hot and lethargic and it wasnt until 3 days later where the serious symptoms occured. We rushed him to a 24-Hour vet hospital in HB where he was diagnosed with Parvo, a serious intestinal illness, they quoted us $750 a day and that if he survived he could be there 5-7 days. I decided to give him fluids and take him home until I could find a Vet. We called Back Bay and they immediately took us, with no appointment, and Dr. Fanous started him on treatment immediately. Our pup was hospitalized for 7 days and Dr. Fanous kept his word with the cost, which was extremely fair. He knew how much I worried about my new pup and updated me throughout the day. I cant tell you how hard it is to see a 5 lb puppy hooked up to IVs and not wanting to eat or drink, but Dr. Fanous took the time to monitor his temp and blood, and he even fed him by hand. Dr. Fanous has a special place in our hearts, as well as Zavina and Brittany at the front. Everyone is so friendly and caring!

I love all of the staff and Dr. Fanous here. Im surprised by some of these reviews saying this place is profit driven. Dr. Fanous always tries to give me the bottom line best deal and in some cases, refuses to sell me any drugs that are not generic because of cost. He is caring and they have been wonderful with my dog. Any vet office that you visit for any procedure, especially surgical, will add optional fees for items as that is how it is everywhere. But these guys are the best Ive ever visited and Ive had dogs my entire life and visited several O.C. area vet offices.

This place is absolutely awesome! I took my mini Doxie here to get neutered because I was looking for the best care, and I received it! They did a great job with the surgery and they were very patient and friendly for this "scared mama". Dr. Fanous is awesome and we have continued to come back and see him for about 8 months now. He is very friendly knowledgable and a true animal lover. I really like that he doesnt make you feel annoying when asking a million questions! Haha. Thanks back bay for the great care :)

Im blown away. I had no idea a vet could make me feel like they actually care about me and the health of my dog. I cant say enough good things about Dr. Fanous and the staff here. He put every last worry I had to rest. Answered all of my questions, gave me helpful suggestions, and treated us like a family friend even though we were new, first time clients. The girls at the front were all so sweet and helpful and gave the little pup lots of love and pets. I love the team at Back Bay Veterinary Hospital.

This place wanted to Supersize my drink and fries. I used this Vet and was disappointed at all of the suggestive selling that occurred. It had a nickel and dime feel to it, and I left feeling like I had skimped on my pet. I wont be returning as I do not entertain relationships with businesses that are so profit driven. My vets and doctors need to put me at ease and make me feel like "health care" is the number one priority, not profits. The staff was friendly otherwise and pleasant to deal with.

Dr. Fanous is the kindest, most caring Vet my family has ever known. He goes out of his way to make sure our pets are doing well by personally making follow up calls on their progress. My family and I have used Dr. Fanous for almost 10 years now and we wouldnt switch. My friends who converted over to Dr. Fanous all wished they had started using him earlier. The absolute best veterinary hospital I have ever been to in my life. Dr. Fanous and his technicians are all wonderful people, care deeply about animals, and work their hardest to make sure that all of their clients (both human and animal) are treated with care and respect at all times. I cant recommend this vet highly enough! Background: we have a dog and a cat, and weve been going to Back Bay for three years.

Dr. Fanous and his team are absolutely wonderful. Not only does he take amazing care and show genuine true love to our animals, he is affordable and never will try to run your bill up just for the sake of it. He always keeps me well informed on what is going on. I cant rave enough about how amazing he is.

Dr. Fanous and his staff are EXCELLENT!!! My little guy (standard dachshund) has had something come up with him nearly every month since weve had him at 8 weeks and Dr. Fanous & staff are attentive to my concerns. They are NO WHERE NEAR a over-priced or careless. Hope this helps...

This clinic is very well -run. Dr Fanous and technicians are extremely knowledgeable and kind. Their care and advice is comprehensive and goes beyond the call of duty. The front office staff are very friendly. It is very clean. I will not take our puppy to any other Vet!

Smells like pee from the parking lot... scared me enough to go to a different Veterinarian. The reception area is dinky and needs a facelift (deep cleaning too); I didnt trust my fur baby here. Seems like a place where your fur baby can contact kennel cough.

Dr. Fanous is absolutely the most amazing Vet. He listens and explains everything. He will only do what absolutely needs to be done and not do tests or anything just to charge you more. The staff is Amazing as well.

my dog came home with cuts - a really bad hair cut - dirty ears and unbelieveable hidden fees - you think it is a good deal and they care and it isnt and they dont !!! dont get suckered in - its a serious rip off
