I recently moved to Petaluma and actually found her via yelp. I went to 1 dentist throughout my childhood, and then the last 10 years or so moved a lot, and had dental care, but wasnt too invested in finding someone amazing. Well, Im staying in Petaluma and Im never switching dentists! I had a bunch of cavities growing up despite taking good care of my teeth. When I found Dr Permalla she did xrays and she looked at my teeth as well. Never before did I quite understand the benefit of doing both. Apparently its totally necessary to, since the xrays and visualization with magnification glasses dont overlap much in diagnosing problems. I had a couple of new cavities, but lots of issues with my old cavities as well! At first I was skeptical about having to do so much work on my teeth, but Dr Permalla explained that the fillings were old, but they often were done poorly, or not filled well enough so there were gaps or even decay under the filling - ick! She showed me the photos and xrays as well. She was right. I thought my dentist growing up did good work, but seeing this completely changed my opinion. So, with this, I had lots of work to do on my teeth. One year later Im done fixing all the old problems and a couple of new ones and Im so happy! Its totally pain free of course, but more important Dr. Permalla uses the highest magnification that is available to dentists to view the teeth. I didnt understand that dental practice could vary so much! She explained this whole process to me, and being a nurse my medical mind totally understood. Basically when she looks at a filling or anything shes doing the magnification is so high (esp compared to other dentists) that she can get every part of that decay, small or large, but also keep as much of your good tooth as possible! So awesome. Also, she went to dental school twice - in India and here, and often does educational courses so shes up to date on the latest research and methods. That says a lot to me -- that she really cares about her practice and her patients. Its hard to know if there are problems with your teeth unless you see a good dentist. If you have pain then usually its late in the game. You wont be sorry going to Dr. Permalla! Shes so thorough. Cant say enough about her. Her front desk staff are also super helpful, sweet and accommodating! And, her hygienist is great as well! Ive gotten some great tips and education about brushing my teeth, flossing, etc. Go here!! :)

My husband and I have been using Permalla Dental Care since we moved to Petaluma in 2012 and we couldnt be happier. Dr. Permalla and staff are friendly, knowledgeable, patient and professional. They take the time to explain everything in detail and always give you their opinion but allow you to make the best decision for yourself. It is a very warm and welcoming environment from the front staff to the hygienists and the dentists! Its the most beautifully decorated dentist office youve ever stepped into, think modern and chic, and the entire experience is unlike any other dental experience Ive had. We love Permalla Dental Care. If you are looking for a new dentist in Petaluma, check them out, you wont be disappointed! We found our forever dentist and are so happy with the service and attention to detail Dr. Permalla and staff abide by, you can tell they work at a level far superior than most. I even receive personal phone calls from Dr. Permalla to see how Im doing after a treatment or to thank me for a referral. They are the best!

When you walk into Permalla Dental Care you are bound to be surprised by how much it doesnt feel like a dental office. Its vibrant, its modern and its cool! But during the walk through of the place, Dr. Permalla explained the various innovative ways in which they had integrated so much technology into the design so that patientss comfort and convenience was the first priority. That was impressive. I got a bonding on my chipped upper front tooth and was worried about how it might look given how prominent that tooth is... but I was amazed that even I couldnt tell from the after picture where the work had been done unless I compared it to the pre-picture side by side. It was perfectly executed in my opinion. But the best part was when Id be left alone for a few minutes during various pauses in the procedure... and I could just look out the floor-to-ceiling windows, out at the plants on the patio, and forget that I was at a dental office even though I was sitting right in the chair!

My first experience at Dr. Permallas office was a breath of fresh air. She took the time to explain her philosophy of dental care, education and prevention, and took more time thoroughly explaining my dental health than any of my previous dentists ever had. She cleaned my teeth herself (it was a surprisingly pleasant experience due to the ultrasonic device she used - which took about a quarter of the time of a normal cleaning without the pain and gum irritation) and patiently answered the questions I had. I left feeling refreshed and wondering why none of my former dentists had paid me the kind of care and attention that she did. I cannot recommend this office enough; all of the office staff are exceedingly pleasant and Dr. Permalla is knowledgeable, gentle, skilled and thoughtful. I never thought Id say this, but Im looking forward to going back!

I originally chose Permalla Dental Care due to its close proximity to our condo. I was immediately impressed upon arrival with the beautifully decorated and warm atmosphere. Every single person in this office is kind and respectful. I have required extensive restoration since becoming a patient, but was never made to feel shame or stress. Dr. Permalla is a caring professsional who uses the latest in technology to ensure the patient is comfortable and relaxed. She is a true artist and perfectionist and she explains everything she will be doing and why. I am so excited to be starting the Invisalign treatment next. I never considered getting orthodontia after all these years, but am happy to have the convenience of the same office, and not having to be embarrassed by "hanging with the teens" at the Orthodontist office. 100 stars!

Dr. Permalla and her entire staff are very skilled and knowledgeable. Our entire family switched to her office. My experiences with other dental offices in the past has not compared to the care Dr. Permalla offers our family. She has taken the time to explain procedures very carefully, so that I can make educated choices on my own oral health. Her skills are so refined, that she was able to successfully anesthetize a particularly difficult area of my mouth, when other dentists were unsuccessful. Her dental hygienist is also very thorough and very skilled in her practice. She takes the time to educate myself and my family, on best oral care practices. She is clearly very passionate about what she does. We are pleased to have found Dr. Permalla and her staff. They take such good care of us.

I have not been to the dentist in many years untill I happeded to walk into Permalla dental. Danielle at the front is so nice & helpful, she did all the paperwork for my insurance company & helped me with payment so I could actually have the work done. I also love Dr. Permalla and Darcy her dental assitant. My first time there they walked me through the whole place showng me where everything is kept and how they steralize thier tools. They made me feel extremly comfortable & when the appt was over I didnt want to leave. After not going to the dentist for so many years I am no longer scared to go & I have already booked two follow up appointments! They are the best, I have already recomended them to several of my friends!
