I went to Dr Franklin after pulling her name up on my insurance website. However, she no longer accpets the insurance and I had to pay over $600 for bloodtests that I could have gotten from my GP for a $20 co-pay! I contacted my insurance about removing her name, but they informed me she has to do it. I can see why she wouldnt want to. I learned an expensive lesson and should have asked first because when I handed them my insurance card, they copied it and placed into the file as if all was good instead of saying "Im sorry, we dont accept this insurance" Nice...... Then I get labe results back with an assurance that all is wuithin normal ranges and nothing to worry about. Except for all were not in normal ranges. I guess they figured I wouldnt be coming back so why bother having to go thru the results. Should have at least said "there were some levels slightly out of range, may want to go talk to your GP about it". Really bummed about this one :0(

As a single dad, Ive really had a difficult time maneuvering the medical system. HMOs, my portion of the payment, what lab to go to, and how to advocate for my son. Dr. Franklin actually took the time to help me with these things that had absolutely nothing to do with her specialty. As a nice side note, she also was an excellent physician who diagnosed and treated my son quickly. She also put my mind at ease about his condition.
