It was nice to see the last review that echos mine. My 20 yr old son went in for a cleaning and was told he had 5 cavities and that his fairly new implant (from a different dentist) was failing! 5 cavities in 6 months?? Dr. Craig also told him that he needed a lot of cosmetic work and "This is the year youre going to spend a lot of money at the dentist but it will be worth it in the long run." My son said they (Dr. Craig and others) sat him in a room telling him everything that was wrong with his teeth, overwhelming him and leaving him feeling bullied. That was his last visit. Our NEW dentist told my son he saw absolutely nothing wrong with his implant, that he had one cavity forming that needed filling and one tooth to watch - not 5! There always seem to be way more office staff working than technicians, hygienists or Dentists. It always seems a little (a lot?) chaotic in the office and Ive never gotten out of a cleaning in less than 2 - 2.5 hours! The hygienists are nice but I just want my teeth cleaned and not to have a chit-chat session beforehand telling them what Ive been doing in the last six months, and then have to hear about what theyve been doing since we last saw each other...like we are long lost friends. Furthermore, know your audience. I had my teeth cleaned (Im a 45 yr old Mom of boys - she knew that) while being schooled on the Disney princesses (Ariel, of course) and how much skin and bodily fluids a person leaves behind after each cleaning. It was the most bizarre cleaning of my life. Finally, Im sure I have over-paid more than once, but realized very quickly that just getting the billing dept. to call you back is next to impossible and there is a defensiveness you have to deal with, no matter how nice I tried to be. Oh wait, forgot one more thing....when they pull you into that little room and try to get you to give names and addresses of friends you can refer to them, its a little creepy and overbearing. The lady was a little irritated when I told her I would not give names or addresses but would be happy to give the gum packs with a $50 credit to those who I thought might be able to use it (those without insurance of course). She made sure that I knew she was tracking each gum pack she gave me and would know if I tried to use the credit for myself and that if I didnt give them out within a month or so, to bring them back. That was my last visit.

I chose Summerbrook Dental because of their excellent reviews and their dental sedation service. I admit it....Im a big chicken when it comes to the dentist. I had some bad experiences with the dentist as a child, and its something Ive struggled with since. I came to Dr. Craig with a broken tooth from an old filling. I was in a LOT of pain and terrified of getting work done. Dr. Craig was very calm, talked to me about my fears, what freaks me out about the dentists office, and things he and his staff could do to help the appointments go easier. Immediately he set me up with meds and antibiotics to stop the intense pain. Then he figured out what exactly hed need to do to fix my problem. When he explained a new filling & crown would need to be replaced again in my lifetime, I asked for alternatives, and found out an implant wasnt too much more money (Im on a budget) and would last forever. Wahoo!!! Better yet, Cari helped me fill out paperwork for a low-interest loan I could make monthly payments on! The procedure went really well, and Ive got a couple more to finish the process. Every time Ive gone, Dr. Craig and his staff learn more about me - and keep track of it in their records - so I can be as comfortable as possible (Im always cold, they bring me a blanket, I hate the sound of the drill, they give me headphones, etc.) It makes the visits so much easier! They are open late a couple nights a week, which works great with my work schedule, and theyre conveniently by my job. I wish my company used them for their insurance, as it would help my budget, but frankly, Im happily willing to pay cash (and make payments ;) to go to Dr. Craig and his awesome staff! What are you waiting for? Tell them Sandy sent you. :)

My sister had Dr. Garrison look at her teeth, she said she had two cavities that needed filling. Fortunately, my sister ended up having to go to another dentist because Summerbrook didnt accept her insurance anymore. The dentist who did accept her insurance, who has been practicing for over 30 years could not find a cavity. And this other dentist spent 25 minutes looking at her x rays. Summerbrook was going to drill on her teeth unnecessarily. To make matters worse, my husband went in a few weeks later and Summerbrook found 5 new cavities. Hes never had that happen and we were both shocked. However, we had to go to another dentist because of similar insurance issues to my sister with his cavities being filled. Low and behold Mike had no cavities in his mouth as found by another dentist in the Denver area. This is unfathomable, so needless to say my whole family high tailed out of this place. Second topic of issue is the inconsistency with staff. Too many employees are shuffled in and out. Dr. Craig should re-evaluate firing so often and so many. Even 1 or 2 "firings" per year means the business is being run poorly in my mind, not that the employees themselves are at fault. Third matter, the up-selling at Summerbrook was not apparent to me until I started with my new dentist. I didnt realize I shouldnt have to turn down "treatment" every time I go to the dentist. I remember being asked by the dentist at Summerbrook "how would you rate how happy you are with your smile on a scale of one to ten?" I said "nine and a half" which is nearly perfect. It was then suggested to me I get Invisalign and a $500 mouth guard. I didnt appreciate the up-selling at all, it was too much.

I chipped my tooth and they were able to get me scheduled the same day I called. They are very friendly, especially the dental assistant (Im horrible with names, but I think it was Tiffany?). She did a great job and was very personable. They took their time, gave me options and scheduled a follow up appt. I even got a thank you card from Dr. Rowe, I thought that was great. I appreciated that. I am currently updating my review. I have now been to Summerbrook 3 times to have additional dental work done. The above paragraph describes my 1st visit. My 2nd visit was equally enjoyable where Cassondra cleaned my teeth. She was exceptional, friendly and very personable. My most recent visit, however, was less than desirable. A man named Will took me back and sat me in the dental chair. About 5 minutes later he stated that I have $600+ out of pocket for this visit. As most people would be, I was taken back by this. He then stated well what did you expect it would be?. I asked if most people were ok with paying $600+ out of pocket for a dental appointment and he stated yes, all the time and more. This is one of those times in life that someone really made me feel second rate, as if it were unheard of that someone couldnt afford $600+ for a dental visit. I work at an Urgent care and have people freak out over $100, and that is for medical services! I truly feel that Will does not fit in with the rest of the Summerbrook staff, and I would refuse his help if I ever am confronted by him again!
