For years, I have not felt well, with a variety of symptoms like digestive discomfort, stomach pains, headaches, fatigue, and even high blood pressure. Every visit to my family medical doctor resulted in a dismissal of my claims as stress factors and an attempt to give me another prescription to treat my symptoms. Miraculously, and finally, I discovered Dr. Jacqui Slavins practice of Functional Wellness. After my very first meeting with her, and a thorough review of my history, she already had a handle on what was going on. With a review of several lab tests, some I had never even heard of, her hypotheses were correct… a chronic gastrointestinal infection and digestive dysfunction, including some nutrient deficiencies, that Ive likely had for years. Dr. Slavins functional approach is to treat the whole person and get to the root cause of illness, unlike the conventional medicine paradigm of just treating diseases and symptoms. She also is incredibly bright, with an expertise in several areas of health concern (see the website). Dr. Slavin reads a blood lab report like a storybook, analyzing functional ranges and subtle relationships between values, not just flagged out of range numbers. I have already highly recommended my wife, family, and friends to go see Dr. Slavin for a consultation. Thank you Dr. Jacqui for all your help and kindness!!

I went to see Dr. Jacqui in March of 2012 as a final plea for someone to help me rid myself of the extra 20 - 30 pounds I had been carrying around for about 10 years. We spent a long time discussing my history, testing I had done over the years and what I had done in the past to lose weight. I told her I felt like I was always running against a brick wall, I run, I work out, I eat right, NOTHING was working. I tried detoxes and different ways of eating. Although they helped me feel good, little weight was coming off. I even did a week long 400 mile bike ride last summer....the result....2 pounds of weight loss! Dr. Jacqui listened and talked to me about scientific reasons for my body and why this was happening. She developed a custom plan for me that I started on March 18th, 2012. I celebrated my 40th birthday on April 26th at 18 pounds less than 6 weeks prior. I am currently at 20 pounds of weight loss and feel amazing. The best part is that it seems my body has restructured to be happy at a lower weight, meaning I am not gaining back and continue to lose at a steady pace. I am so happy and thankful to know Dr. Jacqui and call her a friend! Thank you, Dr. Jacqui, I owe you so much!

Since childhood I have struggled with numerous health challenges - allergies, asthma, sleep disturbance, fatigue, sinus infections, inflammation, anxiety and depression - to name a few. Dr. Slavin is the first medical professional to actually get to the root of all of these "evils" and treat the cause not just the symptom. Dr. Slavin has created an individualized supplement plan and taught me so much about nutrition. Because of this plan, I have been able to get off most of my prescription medications. Without a doubt, my modeling of healthy eating has helped my family and friends as well as my own body, mind and spirit. I feel more energized, healthy and balanced than I ever have and I am almost 50! Dr. Slavin was not accommodating at all. I was a few minutes late to my appointment because I am so sick that I cant even drive and takes everything I have to get up in the morning. I had been waiting for this appointment for over a week in order to speak with Dr. Slavin regarding a diet and nutrition plan to get my condition under control. She told me that she would not see me although she had over an hour and a half until the next appointment. She also told me that the doctors I was seeing "obviously werent working" and that I needed to reschedule with her, although the next appointment would be two weeks out. Ive never met someone with a business who could be so rude to their customers. I would not recommend her to anyone and am still blown away by her attitude especially in such a small town. Her unwillingness to help a patient in need during a time of great suffering really shows her true character....
