Dr Mc Lean is a good doctor. He is very competent. He uses a good blend of non-traditional or out-of-the-box treatment as well as more traditional treatment when necessary. He is personable and has a good bed side manner. The Bad; his staff and there lack of willingness to get into the 21st century. They seem disorganized. Every time I went in for a visit it felt like it was my first time in. Also the only way to communicate with them is over the phone and fax. I wanted to email a form and the secretary said they are old fashioned and I could only fax it over. Huh?!? First off I didnt have the form so there is no way for me to even fill it out and fax it. Second the secretary offered no alternatives and left me feeling frustrated not knowing what to do next. This is the exact problem with health care today. There is so little collaboration between health care workers, even within there own offices, it leaves patients feeling like they have to treat themselves and find there own answers to health problems. Health problems include administration and sharing of information which seems to be solely the responsibility of the patient. In summery the administration in this office is lacking. It feels like they really dont understand whats going on with you. Every visit is a isolated experience instead of a building process. They dont seem to be directing the experience or treatment to a foreseeable resolution.

Dr. Mc Lean is a great Doctor! I have been really impressed with him. He looks at the big picture and even takes the time to explain things you can do to help your health in the future. I have also seen other PAs in his office and they are also excellent. The medical assistant I always see (i forgot her name) is really nice and is always concerned. She can also take a really accurate manual blood pressure which believe it or not is a skill not everyone has now because most people are used to using a machine. Karen works the front desk and she is always knowledgeable and kind. I dont get sick a lot but when I do they are a good medical resource to turn to.

Alright, I might be biased since Dr. McLean has been my primary care physician since 1997--but that should say something. There are lots of MDs around here, but I never saw a reason to change. Great manner with patients, and he takes an interest in your overall health. If he isnt taking new patients, thats too bad. You missed out on a great doctor.
