Who likes going to the dentist???? WE DO! That is, if youre going to Dr. Craig Sommer & Staff in The Springs. My husband and I are both patients of Dr. Sommers and we love his practice. First off, the doc and his staff are such professionals.... providing painless, very high tech, results-perfect & fun dentistry. Being fairly new in town and looking for a "holistic" dentist - one who does not believe in and removes mercury safely from your teeth - I began my search and was so happy to find Dr. Sommer. And, so impressed that he was a chemical engineer before pursuing his love of dentistry! (Who better to provide holistic care and get why you dont need or want poisons, such as mercury, in your mouth - and how to remove it safely???) Now, of course, even with all the rave reviews I found on this physician, I was still apprehensive and afraid that he would have an "attitude." You know the kind.... they are there to do a job, a good job, but its just a job - so no personality! Well, not with Dr. Sommer. He LOVES his job and he LOVES people & life and hes so kind to his STAFF! I just cant say enough good things about this practice. They are perfect in every way. Just imagine... a gorgeous view of downtown, a comfy chair, a neck roll of your choice, a warmed blanket, glasses to shade your eyes from the blinding lights they need to do their job and a physician who speaks softly and even thanks YOU for doing a good job. Ah.... I have actually fell asleep in the chair! I was a bit concerned about their pricing, since hes not only a general dentist, but a cosmetic dentist, and I had no idea what it would cost to remove the mercury.... and I was afraid I would be under pressure to make other costly options - but NO, NO, NO..... this dentist and his practice are all about YOU and your needs, concerns & wants. They genuinely care about you and going to their office is FUN! Dr. Sommer is a hoot - he loves to joke around and hes always up-to-date with the "positive" in the world and ready to discuss it with you or his staff. So, if youre looking for the best dentist in town - you have found him! In fact, we have appointments coming up again soon and looking forward to it! Happy Smiles :) DG

I searched for a biological dentist several months ago to help me get rid of all of my mercury fillings which were causing many health issues. I am moving to Florida soon and needed to act quickly. Dr. Sommer and Rachelle both came in on their day off to accommodate me. Five hours later in the chair and I was mercury free at last. I have had many crowns done in the past, but never had the attention paid to details as I did with Dr. Sommer. He and Rachelle were very gentle and patient with me. Extra measurements were taken to ensure a custom fit. Before the final fitting of the crowns (5 total), I was told that if they were not perfect they would be sent back to the lab for replacement. Thanks to the special measuring, they all fit beautifully. The followup appointments to adjust the bite were also very productive. Dr. Sommer will adjust the crowns until they fit perfectly. I have never had a better experience. My only regret is that we are moving soon and I most likely will never find a better dentist in Florida. I will miss them all.

Its hard to rate a dentists visit, "Loved it". Found Dr Sommer on a web search. Drove from Colorado City to Colorado Springs, approx 1 hour, for an appointment. Im 55 years old and I can honestly say that I will recommend Dr Sommer to my family. He, and his staff, were professional and friendly. His equipment was the most advanced that I have seen. Ive never been impressed by a dentist. My wife and I were not only able to look at x-rays on a computer, but also a photo of each tooth. He went to the waiting room and introduced himself to my wife and let her know what was going on. I have a few problems in my mouth. Dr Sommer can up with an entire gameplan for total treatment. He explained the treatment in a very easy to understand manner. The photos and x-rays combined made it even easier to grasp. I honestly cannot imagine anyone not being impressed by Dr Sommer and his staff.

I dont typically review, but felt the excellent service that Craig Sommer and his team provide is well worth it. Ive been to a few different dentists and have had varying negative experience. One dentist was quite good, but I often felt pushed into expensive treatment that I either didnt need or couldnt afford. Another dentist was good at cosmetics, but ruined my bite mechanics in the process. Another one was excellent, but the administrative staff dropped the ball more times than I could count. Craig and his team give the options with no compulsion, understand the breadth of dentistry and not just cosmetics, and they perform their work with high competency. The staff are professional, and fun to engage with. I HIGHLY recommend trying this dentist out if you are looking.

I was in town for my fiances graduation from the Air Force Academy when I started having terrible tooth pains. I thought I had lost a filling and called Dr. Sommers office. They had an afternoon appointment open but I really needed a morning one, so they allowed me to come straight in without an appointment. Dr. Sommer saw me right away and took an X-ray, determined that I needed a root canal, and prescribed me some pain medicine to hold me over the rest of the week. He was the nicest dentist Ive ever visited. He offered to either work me in the next day for the root canal or refer me to another place. Then his office even called to check on me the next day. I wish I could fly out to Colorado Springs every 6 months just to have him as my dentist! 6 stars!

Like you need me to tell you! The reviews speak for the themselves, but Ill add in as well. Went here to get a wisdom tooth extracted. It was pain free and they made sure to tell me what to do to keep myself as comfortable as possible as it healed. The staff is friendly and Craig himself is a nice guy and makes you feel completely comfortable! They are great to be around. Im now getting cavities filled and he is doing an awesome job. My teeth were in pretty bad shape and the ones he has already done look amazing. They use the tooth colored fillings instead of those awful silver ones so you wont have to worry about having a metal mouth. All in all an amazing dentist and I would recommend to anyone.

My husband and I have had great experiences with Dr. Sommers office. The initial visit was very thorough. He went over our x-rays, gum measurements, and possible treatment plans. He answered all our questions. And I noticed that Dr. Sommer has an engineering degree from the School of Mines. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth has been working for many years, and at a few offices. She told me Dr. Sommer does the best work in town -- Id never thought about some dentists doing better fillings than others. I appreciate the high level of competency, and I love the staff.
