***LONG BUT WORTH THE READ!**** I am super young in my 20s & was born with the most unfortunate set of weak teeth, prob worse than George Washington. After 8 yrs of various dentists across CT and NY, tens of thousands $ of work to save my teeth, including over 12 root canals, painful extractions etc (which many failed), I really lost ALL trust & hope in dentists. I came to shoreline completely & utterly dejected. My first interaction was over the phone explaining my past situation and that I was looking for a consult, which I didnt look forward cuz I thought I was going to have to be on the defensive based on how I was treated at Aspen. The gentleman was SO nice, reassuring & took the time to LISTEN to me. My consult was hard because the extent of my severe issues was realized. But through a few tears, ALL the staff from reception to the techs were there with me to comfort me and reassure me. I went into my 1st big surgery & was astonished. I didnt feel a thing, Dr. Tartagny pulled 7 or 8 teeth out quickly, painlessly and it overall went so smooth. I was nervous and the staff kept me calm even offering me an aroma therapy patch. I was waiting for severe pain & swelling to hit me...& it never came? B4 going here id look like a watermelon after most procedures. Yesterday was a second big surgery & it was a little tougher due the structure of my mouth but he did an amazing job controlling the pain and here I am, a day later operating at 90% with a tad more pain than the 1st time but still completely manageable virtually gone w/ the meds along w/ NO swelling. This is astonishing considering my history. I had awesome techs for each surgery that brought in a really great energy & helped me feel so comfortable. Every tech has put in effort to get to know me a bit. Dr. T, he is friendly and to the point. No fluff or B.S. with him which I love. He is concerned with doing your work as swiftly and painlessly as possible. Hes not chatting away during my exp but I like that cuz it means hes concentrating. And it has shown in my results. His talent/skill speaks for itself..amazing. His staff, just awesome good ppl. As much as I value Shoreline, I honestly feel that they very much value me back as their patient. They check up on me, they send me birthday post cards, text msgs & give me little cool perks like water bottles, tooth brushes, canvas shopping totes..stuff like that. They always remember me and LISTEN to me and do their BEST to accommodate me, including some big last min requests. Ive never felt offended or made to feel guilty over my terrible oral situation. Instead they were all there to say "ok, its been tough but ur here with us now and we are going to make a plan, execute it and do everything in our power to improve ur unfortunate situation". My 1 regret is not going to them sooner. I believe with confidence that if I did a lot of my previous work would have held. Oh, & their facilities r super modern/up to date. Tvs in every room, coffee/ snacks in the waiting room, great communication technology btw staffers & locations. They are on point with all that, nothing dated. If u need a new dentist for w.e. reason, or arent satisfied with ur current one I couldnt more strongly suggest giving shoreline a shot. Dr. T is great, he may not always chat u up like crazy but his work is superior, he is genuinely a nice, honest, talented man with top notch staff, coming from sum1 whos had MANY dental specialists across the tri state area.

As a child in the 1960s, I was exposed to a monster of a dentist. It could have been that he was a grouchy old man, or the antiquated techniques he used, or simply the pain and discomfort was exaggerated in my mind. Whatever the case, I developed a fear of him, and dentists in general, that still hasnt fully left me. Today, whenever I need to see a dentist, I still break out in cold sweats. But, I must say that the Drs Tartaglia, father and son, at Shoreline Dental Care in Milford and West Haven, have immeasurably restored my faith in modern dentistry and go out of their way to dispel my anxiety. They really are the best. I have had root canals and crowns and complex drilling for fillings and each time I have left their chair totally relieved that the experience was not nearly as bad as anything I imagined. In fact, I barely felt a thing. NO PAIN. Both dentists and their assistants, as well as the hygienists who work there, are all so kind and reassuring, constantly in touch with my comfort level. I invariably find myself realizing by the end of the procedure that it went by much quicker than I expected, and surely not deserving of the apprehension and anxiety I put myself through beforehand. I completely recommend Shoreline to anyone, but particularly those who, like myself, have painful and frightening memories of dentists in their childhood. You will find no reason to fear at Shoreline. Wonderful people, caring professionals, and certainly I am, for one, a very happy patient.

I went here for my my first and last visit back in 2012. They talked me into ordering three months of some sort of prescription toothpaste and mouthwash that I ended up hating. Besides the fact that it was the most vile thing I had ever put into my mouth (it had chlorine in it, and burned my mouth and nose during use) after using it for over a month I had found it to be ineffective as far as improving my oral hygiene. I tried calling and getting a refund for the remaining unused supply (of course you had to buy three months worth or more) but was met with a rude "You buy it, youre stuck with it" type of attitude. After 5 years this $500 charge has ruined my credit and I keep getting letters from their office threatening me to pay for it. I am appalled at the level of service this place has offered. I am now in debt from one dental visit five years ago. Shame on you, Shoreline Dental. Beware of this place. They are scammy salespeople that will put you in debt.

For many years I have experienced major anxiety going to a dentist. I held off going for a long time, and because of that I had a lot of work that needed to be done. The way I was treated by every single person at Shoreline Dental has absolutely helped me with my fear. From the people that answer the phone and greet you at the front desk, to the hygentists, as well as the office staff and especially Dr. Tartagni.... it is an absolute pleasure to get my dental work done! (And I never thought I would say that in my life!) Dr. Tartagni takes pride in his work and does an amazing job as well as easing my anxiety every time I go there! Thank you all so much for helping me with my fears... I could not have gotten through it without each one of you!!!! I highly recommend Shoreline Dental!!!!!!

Last year my primary care physician recommended Shoreline Dental to me when a blood test showed an elevated level of lp-PLA2, a marker for systemic inflammation linked to heart disease. It turned out my problem stemmed from the damaging strains of oral bacteria I harbored, known to be persistent and difficult to eradicate. However, thanks to Shorelines excellent staff and state-of-the-art testing and treatment protocols, over time we were able to change the colonies of bacteria in my mouth to benign ones, and brought my lp-PLA-2 levels way down below normal. Shorelines team of hygienists (thank you Nancy!) and their preventive care practices are the best Ive ever encountered. Although I live an hour away, I wouldnt trust my dental care now to anyone else. Thank you, Shoreline!
