My first appointment consisted of my consultation and x-rays. The very friendly staff made sure I knew what was going on every step of the way. The x-ray tech worked very fast, knowing that the x-rays were uncomfortable and made sure they were over as soon as possible. She definitely knew what she was doing and made a painful experience as pain free as possible, making jokes and compliments along the way. What shouldnt have been a good time was. I then had to re-schedule my extractions due to some work issues. When I met with the office manager, Patrick to talk through some insurance and money issues, he super kindly worked them all out with me and to my surprise I was able to afford much more than I ever imagined! I had never thought that I would ever be able to get a "deal" from a dentist office, but Patrick made it all possible. He is the most personable man Ive ever met. He never once made me feel ashamed for not visiting the dentist since high school. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable about every aspect of insurance deductibles and costs, payment plans and scheduling. Aspen dental definitely works around your schedule, which is very helpful with my work schedule. I then went in for my extractions. Dr. Chan and his assistant Jackie were there every step of the way, explaining every aspect of it and the before and after. I never once felt rushed, all of my questions were answered. Not only that, but my x-rays were shown to me and he pointed out every little thing that could happen and what he would be doing right on the screen. I appreciated that very much. Dr. Chan went above and beyond the call of duty. Jackie was the best assistant I could have asked for. She knew when to hold my hand. She knew when to support my jaw just by looking in my eyes. I would recommend Aspen dental to everyone. I can not say thanks enough for the care they provided to me. Beyond all of this, Dr. Chan took the time to talk to my 12 year old son, who was there with me for this procedure, about the importance of good grades and schooling. My son had asked him about why he became a dentist and other questions like this. I really appreciated him taking the time to talk to him. Most doctors rush right on by. He is that personable guy you want to talk to. What a great guy. I cant say enough good things about Dr. Chan and his staff. Cant you tell!? :)

Where do I begin? First I downloaded the paperwork and made a apptt Online . Okay so far so good well it was nine pages I printed and only 1 was actually something you fill out. so that was a waste then when I got to the appt I had to fill it out again anyway. Then twice they called me during the day trying to get me to come in earlier . Which I thought was odd. So I finally leave work and rush to make my time slot got there 15 mins early . Then received a luke warm welcome . Which was okay I guess filled out the paperwork again and then waited 45mins to go inn, so much for rushing there. The lady doing the Xrays was awesome super friendly fast and very calming. Best employee there wish I remembered her name . So I go in sit in the chair then again had to wait and wait. Okay now dentist comes in sits behind me starts telling me stuff but I cant hear him . I have to ratchet my head to see him He says you need root canal crown and filling then walks out. Didnt show me any of the 1200 xrays they took. Okay so far so good lol.. So next Im whisked to the financial advisor she says 1200 for crown more for cavity, and I have to go to some guy in mentor for a root canal. Guess thats a separate 1000 dollars . Now im flustered, ,So I ask her about my xrays she says well its you know the bicuspes . Actually no I dont know.. then she says well we could finance this. I then said how much to pull it . Oh 130 dollars she says then Im hoping she might explain how to maybe get a fake tooth or bridge or something . Just kinda a blank stare. And I never got a free cleaning . So I gave up and left. Overall what I witnessed was a overworked staff probably underpayed and under appreciated. I probably will go back and have the tooth pulled and maybe down the rd find a fake tooth I guess. They seemed competent just depressed maybe. I blame management for all this not the employees. Again cudos to the xray lady.. And she looked exhausted as well but was still giving me a 100 percent and she sensed my anxiety and was very quick to help put me at ease. Plz put her in charge.

This place must love ripping people off. Literally the worst and most hateful dentist office I have ever been to. I was concerned about my insurance covering everything I needed but instead of the employee explaining to me how it worked she just yelled at me. Next I went into the exam room and the Dentist looked at my teeth and said I needed a root canal and a crown on my back left molar, 6 cavities filled, a veneer on my front tooth. This was going to cost me around $3500 with $1000 from insurance and not including the root canal that I had to go to another dentist to have completed. That being said, I had a feeling that I needed to get a second opinion. I went to another amazing dentist in Ashtabula and they said I didnt have any cavities, didnt need a root canal, and I didnt need a veneer. The new dentist recommended that I get a filling for my molar because my tooth was still in good shape and he could use a binding on my front tooth that was chipped. All in all I paid $150 after insurance covered 200.

Hadnt been to the dentist in 10 years (big mistake). 7 cavities that needed filled, cleanings that needed done, and wisdom teeth that needed extraction. I got a second opinion at happy smiles just to make sure, and they told me the exact same thing. It was originally going to cost me over $3,500 but they told me about the carrington plan which saved me a bundle (out the door for $1,800). After 6 visits (initial checkup / x-rays, cleaning, lower left cavities, upper right cavities, lower right cavities, and wisdom teeth extraction) I feel like Ive got a pretty good handle on what goes on there. I was pleased with every bit of it. They answered all my questions, didnt pressure me into anything, and helped me figure out what I needed and what would fit my budget. Sure, dental work is expensive, but Ive been pleased with the work they have done at Aspen.
