It pains me to resort to this review but after my experience I am left with little choice. I have been a patient with Dr. Ballentine for a decade. And to note, in all my 40 years I have had over 50+ dental cleanings. i take good care of my teeth and have little issues. Cleanings and procedures at Dr. Ballentines were always very pleasant. Last year, I had a routine cleaning done with a new hygeniest. To say she was heavy handed is an understatement. It was one of the most excruciating dental visits of my life. She was rough, clumsy and cared little for my well being or comfort. It felt as if she was extracting revenge. My mouth full of blood from her missed attempts with the pick. My gums hurt for weeks after. So when they called me a few months later and asked me to come in for a cleaning, I POLITELY asked for a different hygeniest. Which they assured was no problem. When I arrived guess who was my hygienest? The same lady as before. When she started in again with the heavy hand I asked her if she could tone it down. She called in Dr. Ballentine who asked what the problem was. When I explained the hygeniest was rough, Dr. B told me it was my fault because I had plaque. When I explained that cleanings at my periodontist were much friendlier,she halted the procedure and recommend I go there instead. Hows that for customer service? To make sure that I just wasnt being a wimp, I had 2 cleanings after at a very awesome dentist and not only were they pain free they were enjoyable and my mouth feels great. The desk staff and Dr. Ballentines niece are amazing people - but my experience with Dr. Torture and Dr. Balletines handling of the situation left me to pursue another dentist- which is good because I found an amazing customer service dentist.

I have been going to doctor balentines for years,I do admit that going for my six months cleaning may be rough at times thats because of the plaque buildup between the teeth, my hygienist that does my teeth explain to me that not properly taken care of my teeth will cause this problem. My next 6 months cleaning I hope it would be better because the proper brushing and my water pick should do the job, to the best of my knowledge they strive to keep you with a beautiful smile and I myself will tell you it works, I reckon people expect that theres no pain involved because it is, with that buildup what do you expect a pain-free cleaning I dont think so.

I just moved to the area, and I love this dentist! My teeth cleaning went well, and I had to come back for a couple fillings (1 cavity, 1 cracked tooth due to teeth grinding). My cracked tooth feels so smooth - you cant even tell anything was wrong with it. My cavity filling had a little bit too much filling and was hurting, but I went back and they fixed it for me no problem. Theyre awesome! Very friendly and very good at what they do.

Ive been going to Ballentine Family Dentistry for 14 years and have nothing but great things to say about this practice. Michelle is my go to hygienist and does a great job every time. Dr. B is always nice and pleasant every visit. The front desk staff is great and very helpful. My entire family goes to Ballentine Dentistry!
